I know this was before CDPR developed Blood and Wine, but, from a lore perspective, Orianna must be crazy if she thinks she can defeat Geralt after hearing what he did to Dettlaff.
I suppose partly people who knew of his involvement, would assume Regis did most of the heavy lifting and Geralt took the glory.

Oh she knew she was in for a fight, but so was geralt. In the book, a fight with a bruxa is not a easy fight for a witcher. In fact, witchers doesn't even want to risk it if they can help it like oriana correctly state. Witcher are not moronic heroes who lunge themselves into any fights. They're smart, calculative, and wants to be alive to spend their earning money afterward.

I knew he fed himself something that would be helpful for her bite, but I didn’t quite understand what it was or what it did exactly. As far as I can tell, it basically stopped her from using her other powers so she’d be more of a conventional melee ranged opponent. Seemed to look like it was coagulating her own blood.
This is what makes witchers so deadly. Their main strength is their intelligence and then their modified bodies. They know exactly how to fight and kill monsters....
@Silver Shilling Luv this concept. Once read a story with a similar one where witch hunters poisoned themselves whenever they fought something that was most likely to go after their blood mid-battle. The witch hunters developed a minor resistance against that poison, etc., and managed to fight normally for a while before it would fuck them up, but monsters such as vampires were usually fucked when they drained a witch hunter of some blood.
Hella intelligent and realistic method to fight some superhuman creature.
Edit: when the battle was over, they would munch an antidote against the poison.
This is why smart monsters run from Witchers, because Witchers know how to turn the monsters own strengths against them, like with the black blood potion.

Most of these fights, well, the fights we see Geralt have, are very hard fights. I was really worried about how NETFLIX was going to show the Striga fight.. In the book, and game cinematic, the fight is hell on Geralt.. It’s also show, like in this cinematic, that the Witcher’s know what they are in for, but prep as much as they can, because they know that they’ll have to get bit, tire the monster out, sleep in a coffin or birth place, etc etc. Even in his prime, and probably why he’s lived so long, he doesn’t underestimate drunks or drowners... I love it!

Silver bomb, sword skills & magic were all defensive keeping him alive.
Vampire could’ve just beaten him to death or used her claws to carve him up.
It implies that Witchers know they're going to get fucked up bad in a fight against a Vampire.

I do believe his plan was to get bit since Witchers survive vampire bites - their slow metabolisms help with that as it is said in Blood and Wine.

Let's be honest, this is what we all expected from the Netflix series. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't THIS good either.

Come on. It's a cinematic trailer, not even the game (which I love) lives up to it. C-trailers are designed to inflate expectations. Season 1 was a hit, they'll get an even bigger budget next time just like how GOT started out.

I still find the line between higher vampires and normal vampires kinda weird. Bruxae are kind of inbetween higher and lesser, but were still affected by Dettlafs mind control. But Orianna wasnt despite the fact shes a Bruxa 🤔
Orianna is a Bruxa in this trailer which was developed long before Blood and Wine. In Blood and Wine I believe she is actually higher vampire and not a Bruxa.
Wasnt it statet in the game that every higher vampire is different? Maybe shes a higher vampire but got the form of a bruxa. I mean invisibility is dope, if i remember correctly dettlaf couldnt do that. But idk, just a thought.
Currently playing the witcher 2 and bought the 3 game bundle, finished the first 1 in 55 Hours, and I can still import my loot from the first game and decisions. What a franchise.

It was EVERYTHING that this trailer showed.
Goes to show that no matter how civil or calm vampires act in the end they are no more than animals who can be exploited. Plus she should have seen this coming sooner or later considering Geralt said he’d come for her, in her last moments she knew what it was like to be helpless to stop her rightful fate. Shame we couldn’t do this ourselves in the game but then it was satisfying seeing her crawl like a defenseless animal.

This is the lamia that in Blood and Wine we don't kill because Geralt said that he will come back to her when all had finished. Also this is a optional ending. I get other different ending so this cinematic has no sense with my Gameplay.

Geralt also seems to be a weakling when it comes to fighting monsters ( he was beaten up by a freaking goat) I don't think there is any room for improvement anymore.

I think she got a debuff from drinking his blood because he had taked the black blood potion before the fight. To be honest i would have burned the barn down and found her in the open. Swinging a sword in a narrown space is asking for trouble.

@@bandanasaikia6048 Yrden is very effective for a bruxa. Cast yrden then when it walks into the ring, hit it with a high enough intensity aard to knock down. If the bruxa falls, you can insta-kill with a finisher. If there's no yrden, the bruxa will just turn to mist and escape if you try to finish.
UseVisine Or use black blood and get bit use any intensity of aard to kill it.
