The way those vampires transform is ten times better than any vampire movies I've ever seen
They are a mix of harpy-gargoyle creatures.
Impressive.
I thank my dad for putting this on our DVD player. I was young and this scared the shit out of me, but I loved it.

I love Dracula's brides.
Marishka (the blonde with yellow dress), Verona (the brunette with green dress) and my favorite, Aleera (the one with auburn-copper hair and pink dress).
I share the theory of the director, Verona, is the wife, and the other two are the mistresses.
And the actresses who play them, superb:
- Josie Maran, originally from the USA, plays Marishka.
- Silvia Colloca (married to Richard Roxburgh who plays Count Dracula), originally from Italy, plays the role of Verona.
- And, last but not least, Elena Anaya, a proud Spaniard like me, is Aleera.
I must add, that if you compare it with the Coppola film, here the brides, no less stronger, treacherous, voluptuous and deadly, have a more active role, no longer as the Count's guardians and hunters, but his most loyal lieutenants.
Bravo, I loved the movie.
PS: If Anna had succumbed to the Darkness and, therefore, turn into a Count's bride, her colour dress would have been red (like in the masquerade ball).
Love how the bride's wings blends into their dresses. The CGI is something that this movie will be remembered for long time to come.
It's pretty wild considering this movie came out in 2004 and the special effects still look better than some movies coming out today.
It will be remembered as a vampire 🧛♂️ classic

I like the way Anna is portrayed as being seriously able to take a beating. Getting down from the rooftop looked so painful, and her body language (great acting) implies that yeah, she's graceful as a cat, but it still freakin' hurt. Total badass monster hunter.
True 💯💯✨✨ I think this is one of the best Kate Beckinsale 's movie and also character . Princess Anna is very strong, determined to fight for her family and willing to take down Dracula and his prides no matter what

It's better this way. Only we, the few intellectual can appreciate this movie. The other people don't matter
Im genuinely surprised that people like you doesn't understand was critics are.
They're not entirely wrong, the plot of the movie is crap, but it's also a good movie with a lot of symbolism

Such an underrated gem. I feel sad for the people who saw the ratings and thought it was bad. The atmosphere, set design, costume design, visual effects, character designes and music are absolutely phenomenal. If Lucy Westernra hadn’t of been staked so fast, I think she would’ve been a very cool bride of Dracula, she just wasn’t allowed to develop and had to be a tragic character instead. I still think the best female vampire ever was Claudia from Interview with a vampire…what a complex character! 😉👍

2. Beautiful concept and atmosphere
3. Not a terrible CGI, i mean it does have flaws but could been worse. Also never surpassed this ver of Werewolf then any other ver of Werewolf
4.Story Arc of This film was the best

One of those shallow action horror film pleasures! That I watch again and again whenever it's available on any platform😅
What I really love about this movie is that the setting, the vampires and characters are so believable. The brides are cruel as they should be, not just sexy and stoic monsters, but they displayed emotions such as grief, rage like anyone else, since they’re partly human. They also command respect out of the film’s main characters - their presence is always taken seriously. The protagonists on their end don’t hesitate to kill each other at first encounter, as they’re strangers - it’s not because Anna is sexy and Van Helsing is an adonis in disguise that they start immediately doing the nasty right in the town square, unlike other movies. They also stay true to their motives, Anna doesn’t get side tracked by Gabriel’s interest in her, they set out to accomplish what the story was building up to.
The werewolves deserve credit as well. Praise vampires, praise werewolves too.
17 years later and I am still waiting for a sequel of this masterpiece. 😭

The visual effects in this movie are ahead of their time
Absolutely. Since CGI wasn't as advanced before as it is today, they had to work a lot harder to make it look realistic. Or mix real elements from the set with CGI to achieve the best result. Now everything is CGI, and they believe that the audience will no longer notice the difference because technology has advanced a lot, so they don't work on it as hard as before.
Never really understood why this movie seems to be so hated. I love it. Wish we could have learned more about Dracula's brides.
Especially aleera her and Anna seemed to have history that was never explained
@@attackontitanfollower to sum it up, they were Anna's friends, fell for dracula, got turned.

I know that Aleena is the second bride and the blonde is the youngest. As they would tell her what to do and she would do it. And in the video game Aleena said she’s been around like almost 500 years or so
It's a 2/10 "critic" score and 5-6/10 audience score which doesn't mean it's bad, it means it's average.... definitely deserves a 6 or a 7... It's a good costume action flick with a bit of horror.
It's been YEARS and I still appreciate this movie. The 3 vampire brides are MOST BEAUTIFUL female vampires in the history of ever I have ever seen. And I like to believe I've seen majority of the well known vampire media out there. They're both exotic but also cohesive at the same time! Aleera is a fave!

Twilight did so much to ruin the monster movie genre. Here's my guess. It's been speculated that Verona was probably from a royal family maybe she used to be a queen or a princess. Apparently aleera and Anna already knew each other maybe they were childhood friends until she was bitten and turned into a vampire. As for Marishka given her attire and her playful and flirty personality it's quite possible she was probably a belly dancer in her past life.
