Leighton James was on fire this day. He was everywhere doing everything, either flank, setting up goals, tackling Barnes and Coppell at the back. An immense performance from a quality player. Spare a thought for Larry Lloyd, who attracts criticism for his performance here. Truth is, he was left exposed by absent full backs, and was left facing small, speedy and skilful forwards on his own. RIP to both of them, both legends of the game. But this was Leighton's day, he was a quality footballer and a joy to watch in full flow.
What a player L James was!
on his day he could be unplayable, as he was in this game and when wales beat the then european champions czechoslovakia 3-0 in 1977
