I loved hearing Jessica Mendoza share the true story of why Kelly went to OU. She had graduated from OSU and, in her goal to become a Vet, found OU had the best graduate program for that. Getting to play another year of softball--and for the best team in the Nation--was just a bonus. But sadly, both her former coach and many of her OSU teammates, to this day, will not speak to her. I find that really sad. So glad that Kelly has found a home at OU--and a lot of love to go along with it. 🥰🥎
And OSU bad fielding got them kicked out of the tournament - again. Kelly's in the right place.

There IS a playoff 'switch' and my Sooners have flipped it ON! JAYDA - making that fantastic catch!! BOONE!! PARKER!! Cydney Sanders finally got a decent hit - been waiting 3/4 of the season for that. Kelly Maxwell worked her magic. But MAY! I have waited ALL season for May to come back! and she shut down Texas for the last two innings!

Longhorn fan here congrats Sooners and Sooners fans on the win, y'all came out hungry from the jump and I personally feel like that first error by Katie Stewart of the Longhorns at first base set the tone, y'all had us off balance all game. And we made way too many costly errors and mistakes to give ourselves a chance in this one. Let's meet again in the Championship series. 👏👏

Also a great Longhorn & Sooner fan in Australia - both teams are absolutely fantastic - counting down the days to see some GREAT ball in this next 'thing' ......regional eliminations??....and then you/they call it the "World Series"...we always laugh and say "world" series........really...it's really ALL USA....no "world". But, here I am.....watching EVERY year & absolutely love all of it. Thank you Matt Highlights #2 - there are quite a few sites that post game coverage, but fall way in the ditch. Oklahoma set the tone early with a early 2-0 lead and superb pitching by both Kelly Maxwell through 6 and Nicole May in relief to seal the W for OU.

Not sure the ump knows where the strike zone is located!! Pitches at the ankles are not strikes!! He did it to both teams. But he gave Texas a lot of pitches too far inside. Still, we kicked butt today and will be standing with #4 soon!!

It wasn't hard to see who was the best team on the field was tonight and finished the season with the best record in the Nation. Horns were never a threat. They will once again be the #1 seed and deservedly so.

Its hilarious how all the softball podcasters still have texas staying at # 1 after this beatdown by ou yesterday.....they all say based on texas season body of work....so lets look at the 4 h2h matchups with ou in this body of work......texas beat ou twice 2-1 over a month ago after losing the first game 5-2 when ou was clearly a shell of itself now.....and still could only squeek out 2-1 wins lol......than after that texas runs off an 18 game winning streak and scoring runs at will in those games....in fact they put up 50 runs last week in a 3 game sweep of tex tech last week...than another 13 on tt on friday......impressive right?......they come into yesterdays big 12 championship as the countries clear #1 team right?..... and now all i hear is these same softball podcasters crying its cause texas made errors that hurt them yesterday.....no texas got completely shut down by ou with 2 seeing eye hits getting one lucky run.....#1 texas got 2 hit.....one more time this team that put up 63 runs in a week on t-tech got 2 hit vs an ou team now clicking......and ou dont deserve that #1 spot?.....u all just haterz.....its not like ou got lucky and squeeked out a 2-1 win on an error they dominated the texas bats!!....and texas best hitter atwood was 0-3....in fact their 1st 6 hitters were a combined 0-15....that potent horns lineup smacked down to 0-15 bahahahahahahaha.......just shows beating up on cup cakes dont matter when you play other good teams!!......lets see if the committee screws this up and keeps texas #1 or does right thing and gives deserving ou the top #1 overall......honestly in the long run it wont matter cause ou is rolling again and will defend the throne for a 4-peat!!

So head to head during the regular season (1-run wins at home!) and regular season champs is undeniably better than head to head advantage in the tournament and tournament champs (by 4 runs on a neutral field)? Average it all, they’re tied 2-2. OU had the better overall record and if you go by run differential than it’s advantage OU.
That makes ZERO sense.
Shorthorns never stood a chance. Regular season "champions" doesn't mean shit. Only a tournament can decide a true champion. And as everyone suspected, it sure as hell wasn't Texas. They just aren't a championship caliber team,. Plain and simple.

Texas could have beaten Oklahoma if they would have been more aggressive at the plate. I will never understand why so many batters allow the first pitch go by them when it is a strike. Pitchers know that they are not going to swing so they throw an easy strike almost every time. Your starting off in the whole when you do that. Oklahoma wasn’t great on the mound. Texas was just pathetic at the plate. I blame them as well as coach White for not getting on them to swing.

No they don't. It's 2-2 and OU has outscored them in four games
Texas and Oklahoma now have exactly the same records in-conference combining regular season and tournament games. They also split their games 2-2, though both Texas wins were at home by just 1 run while OU’s were on the road or at the conference tournament and were won by 3 and 4 runs, respectively. OU also has the slightly better overall record, but it is close. I can see either team getting the number 1 overall seed, but I would lean toward Oklahoma. It won’t really matter, though. It will be all about who gets hot and makes clutch plays in the postseason. I bet both teams make some noise in the WCWS.

(On another note, that last hit by Bella Dayton, she was out of the box when she hit it. Wonder if that would have been called (or at least reviewed) had it been a hit rather than an out. It was nice to see someone inform Avery Hodge of that issue early in the season. She was on a hitting streak--but on every hit, she was out of the box. 🤫🥴)
