Its actually not unfathomable considering this machine works using heat. This isn't a new invention and other previous models are just shower caps that uses no heat/power. So again, you are being told the answer and then acting like you're a genius for having the answer.

Hello -How ya doing? You know that you can just buy the covers alone and put them on without the machine? Just tear one off and use a blow dryer or something to apply heat to it. Or just not use their covers and find another recyclable cover that doesn’t need heat or a fancy machine.

the wrap isnt there to protect your shoe from the floor, the wrap is there protect the floor from your shoe (debris/gunk/trash), this kind of stuff is used inside clean rooms like hospital operation room and food factories
