Liebherr introduces new 'Liduro' mobile battery solution and electric cranes

Liebherr showcases its 'Liduro' mobile battery solution and electric-powered cranes combining solutions for net-zero operation at the point of use.
In this third of our electric reports from its recent press conference, Peter Haddock talked to Liebherr expert Fabian about the Liduro Power Port and mobile crane product manager Julian Rapp about the LTC 1050- 3.1E compact hybrid electric crane.
Fabian: "The Liduro is a stand-alone power source that customers can use to power or charge our growing electric range of equipment. It can also be used to support the wider power demands of a construction site, particularly those in low emissions zones or remote locations.
"Each unit can operate independently, or you can have a bank of them to support higher power demands or peak shaving to reduce overall costs.
"The Liduro has a peak power output of 62 - 145 kVA and output lines of 16A / 32A / 63A / 125A. These output lines support a whole range of equipment, including the power needed for our mobile cranes."
Peter added : “With the Liduro powering the LTC 1050- 3.1E at the event, we could see by using the accompanying Liduro app just how much power was being used by the crane, where it was and other information like the remaining charge.
“For Julian Rapp, this enabled him to demonstrate the crane's operation at the event without using its conventional diesel power unit.”
Julian: "The addition of an electric motor means our customers now have two options to operate the LTC 1050- 3.1E, helping to reduce CO2 emissions whilst enabling operation on low or zero emissions sites.
“And, of course, with the Liduro being mobile, the power pack can travel with the crane. So with the right power support, this three axle 50 tonne crane with a maximum hoist height of 48 metres and a maximum radius of 39 metres offers comparable performance in electric mode to its conventional diesel power.”
