Blind Pass: what to know

  • We have been coming to Blind Pass for over a year and have seen changes to the area over time. The current inlet is not much of an inlet anymore. See the before, when we started fishing at Blind Pass, and now, what it looks like now. They are supposed to dredge it out again but time will tell when and if that happens. You can still catch a lot of Snook and Sheepshead around there but the variety of fish, from my perspective, has seem to disappear because of the changes. Enjoy the video showing the changes and catching lots of snook.

      It was a good day fishing. I wish I could have caught something else though but it is better than a catfish. 😁

    Looks like a great day 👍
    Too bad they had to close that side.
    Maybe a big storm will wash that peninsula out.✌

For Redfish it does open Sept 1st but Marco Island and the Atlantic it is open with a Bag Limit of 2 18" Min -> 27" Max with a bag limit of 2. Of course, I have not caught any yet in those areas 😀

    I'm going down there in a little over a month. Do you think the fishing will be similar then?

    • @BeyondFishingFamily
      @BeyondFishingFamily  Před 5 měsíci +2

      It may be. It is usually good fishing down there but we have had days where we did not get much. Most of the time we did well there but it is fishing, just go and enjoy and I am sure you will catch something. 😁 Blind pass most baits work and even lures. I usually used live shrimp, fiber mullet, and pins, which worked. Live shrimp always worked. I hope that helps

    If u don’t mind , what bait where you guys catching all the snook with especially the bigger snook ?

    • @BeyondFishingFamily
      @BeyondFishingFamily  Před rokem +1

      mostly live shrimp. Small shrimp will not work but the medium to large ones work pretty well. I have also used green backs and small pins but mainly live shrimp.

    That first fish is bleeding from the gills. He will die. Also, stop holding the fish by the lower lip. Places tremendous stress where the neck meets the head. Stop it

    • @BeyondFishingFamily
      @BeyondFishingFamily  Před rokem

      At times it happens when they bleed from the gills. We try to avoid it but sometimes, depending on where the hook is located it is not always possible. I used to hold it differently but was told many times to hold it that way by many anglers.
