    hi i was wondering if you would know if temp settings would be same or diff on a single door manual defrost mini fridge/freezer dorm style vs normal 2 door home refrigerator/freezer...i think they would be diff temps becausue in a mini fridge/freezer the temp probe is mounterd underneath the freezer compartment and the temp probe in a standard home refrigertaor /freezer is inside the refrigerator section.....i just installed a mini fridge one in my regualr fridge and it does seem to work now ....prior to this the compressor would not shut off....now its turning on and off as temp reeaches bur like i said i believe the temp on off is diff in a mini manual defrost fridge than a normal home fridge

    I took the old thermo out to get part number forgetting to photo the terminals. Now I have the new thermo I do not know which way the wires go. There is a double black a double brown and a single brown. The thermo has only 3 connections pins plus earth to thermo casing. What pins do I connect to?

    Hello I wonder if you can help me diagnose the fault on my Bush Frdge
    freezer? It just suddenly stopped getting cold but everything else is
    working fine. The fridge and the freezer compartments (top/bottom) are
    no longer cold but the fridge is making noises like its doing somthing.
    The back is sealed up and the motor is at the bottom (IDK if that info
    helps) I would appreciate any advice to help me D.I.Y repair so I thank
    you in advance for any info you can share.

      Steve, no I had to buy a new fridge freezer. When I called one repair shop they said Bush fridges were not worth repairing and I didnt want to take a chance on booking an appointment and being charged some silly price for one tiny little fix.... So decided to buy a new one. I hope you get your sorted a.s.a.p. Always happens when you just dont need it eh.
      God Bless.

    what function of thermostat?

    • @Hommie.
      @Hommie. Před rokem +1

      It regulates the temperature inside the refrigerator hence communicating to the compressor when to start and when to stop when the certain temperature has reached which was set by the user of the refrigerator.

      Hey could you help me. My fridge freezer is not cold at all. I’ve turned it off for a few days and it’s a tiny bit cool as before. So you think it’s a thermostat issue?

  • @biomed2560
    @biomed2560 Před 4 lety +3

    Useful video but the demonstrator needs to speak up and more directly into the mic. It comes over as just a mumble. It may be worth explaining that there are two systems for marking fridge thermostats with the 'temperature'. The old, original system was to mark the thermostat in arbitrary figures, typically 0 to 5. At 0 the fridge was more or less off and little cooling took place. At 5 the fridge was working hard and cooling as much as possible. This gave rise to the expression 'turn the fridge up' if it wasn't cool enough. This really meant 'turn the dial to a higher number so the fridge becomes cooler'. More recent fridges are calibrated in degrees C, typically 2 to 6 or more. This works in just the reverse way, being in actual degrees, 6 is now warm and 2 is very cold.
    Make sure you know how yours is calibrated by turning the dial one way and seeing what the fridge does and then after a while, doing the reverse.

    A fridge freezer has two thermostats. One for the fridge and one for the freezer. This is the FRIDGE thermostat. What about the freezer thermostat? This is misleading for a novice.

    • @SianaGearz
      @SianaGearz Před rokem +2

      There is no freezer thermostat in this or many other fridges, there is only one cooling cycle. Only the temperature in the fridge controls the cooling, with most of the cooling loop being in the freezer. The freezer just bottoms out at the minimum possible temperature, a heat pump has a physical limit of temperature difference to ambient it's able to provide, and it's fine as long as you don't open it too often and don't put too much warm stuff in there.

    • @lloydpeniyasi4699
      @lloydpeniyasi4699 Před rokem

      Do you understand how the gas flows in a refrigeration circuit similar to the one in the video?
      Firstly the gas will reach the freezer 1st then as the cycle continues it will then reach the chiller section, so the thermostat will sense the temperature in the chiller section hence no need for 2 thermostats.
      Secondly the refrigerator in the video has one compressor hence it can't be controlled by 2 thermostats.
      Thirdly when the thermostat shuts off power to the compressor, it is the chiller that will start to experience a temperature rise such that when it sense the need to resume refrigeration, the cooling in the chiller compartment will just be enough to keep things fresh and not excessive to freeze them
