This is the warband that got me into Warcry. I like elves, but GWs Warcry elves are just awful, especially compared to how they are written about in the lore (I am more familiar with Warhammer Fantasy and 40k elves to be clear). I have probably played 3-5 games a week (except for a few exceptions when I played 5-7 in a day), and I have been consuming Warcry media at an obsessive pace, but I am having the worst time with the Ydrilan Riverblades. I am currently 1-4-1 in my current campaign. I get that some people think that every warband should not be able to do everything, but I hate that I am unable to kill much at all on the board and get swept by other teams (I have recently played sylvaneth, which are sturdier and just as maneuverable, and stormcast eternals, which are fast, hit significantly harder, are tankier, and all have range). I am honestly starting to think that this is just not the game for me as someone who craves balance in games.

I’d disagree with balance. What opponents are you playing? Is this open or narrative or matched play? They cannot kill well and are on the weaker side but would do well on objective missions that don’t worry about killing. Sce are tanky and hit hard, sylvaneth are meh , and yrd are below both in terms of competitive viability. I’d love to discuss and talk on discord if you have any questions

I went on a weeks long losing streak with Shadowstalkers in 1.0.
I think the Elf playstyle is less fun so I don’t play them right.
Painting the corners and only engaging occasionally isn’t an engaging fun play style. Pun intended.
