Do you love Hawaii Five-O and would like to learn more about the show and its cast? We have a playlist just for you: studio.czcams.com/users/playlistPLkXAntdjbcSIC3fHqUORS_GwFBL4dZpZv/videos
I was 14 when it debuted in 1968 so it has been a lifetime show for me. Most episodes were good but like any long running series there were some duds that I pass on. I have the first nine seasons on DVD. The best were the first six seasons. Book 'em Danno.
All I can say is Steve mcgarrett AKA Jack Lord was the best TV cop ever he played that roll to the best of he did it spot-on the new 50 can't hold a candle to the old show
Was assigned as a young sailor to transport squadron VR-21 at NAS Barbers Point (now Kalaeloa Airport near Eva Beach, Oahu) in October 1968, just a month after the show began airing. The theme song was everywhere on the air -- and, it seemed, in the air. Loved every episode from the first season to the last!
Great t/v series that we all looked forward to every week as kids. The series brought Hawaii publicity and recognition like never before. The late Jack Lord's drive and professionalism was a big contribution to Hawaii Five - O's success, IMHO.
When Hawaii 5-0 debuted in the fall of 1968 I was in the U.S. Navy (aboard ship) and didn't have access to TV. I didn't start to watch Hawaii 5-0 until after I was separated from the Navy in July of 1971. It was then I started to watch the program -- and I loved it. Just a couple of weeks ago I started watching Hawaii 5-0 on freebee TV. I started from season one, episode one. I'm now on season two. I plan on watching all 281 episodes, other than the one episode that was too controversial and was removed from the play list.
I was too young to remember the banned episode but it pisses me off this is still a taboo topic 50+ years later. I've had 3 friends commit suicide in the last 18 months, another left a quadriplegic and 2 more at a previous job. Ignoring it won't make it go away.
I never noticed any of those issues in 1972 and still don't care. The show was magnificent. At that time in my life I had never seen anything except Illinois farmland. Taking a full color one hour trip to lovely Hawaii was FANTASTIC. By the way, Danno had a daughter. Years later she was my neighbor in student housing at University of Arizona. So there! We love H50 no matter what. 🙂
Loved this show so much I couldn't bring myself to watch the recent remake and see others playing McGarrett and Williams. The Iolani Palace is a beautiful building and thoroughly enjoyed my tour of it. I hate to think what it might have looked like today had it not been restored, thanks to Hawaii Five-O.
One of my all time favorite shows!! Three part Vashon episodes were my favorites along with comic strip killer. They dont make television like they use to.
I always liked Hawaii-50, quality scripts and high production values. The Ninety Second War parts one and two. It's one of my all time favorites. Hume Cronyn's episodes playing Louis Avery Filer " Over Fifty? Steal" and "Odd Man In". The a pilot episode "Cocoon" that introduced Wo Fat (played by Khigh Dhiegh)
👍💯👏👏👏👏👏 this type of episode is thoroughly fun and enjoyable. I love catching all the missteps and continuity mistakes with a production. Please do more, of these types of episodes. Best wishes, and have a great weekend.
Thanks for watching and have a great weekend! We're glad to know that you love our video. If we may ask, what other types of video would you like to see on Facts Verse?
Oh I loved them all but the one's with Al Harrington are my faves!!! 🖒Actually went to his show when I was in Hawaii!!!! ⛱🌺🌴 He was so kind!!! 😊 Posed for pictures and autographed his album which I still have to this day and occasionally play it!!! 🎶 Brings back great memories!!! 🌺🌴 RIP Al Harrington 💕 Thank you for the beautiful memories!!! 🌺
One of the absolute best moments in the show occured in the dialog McGarrett has with Nehemiah Persoff when NP, playing the character of a powerful hoodlum asks McGarrett why he does it all. Great, great dialog especially when McGarrett tells him "so when some bastard like you...." Loved the show.
The one episode that really got me was the one called King of The Hill, where Danny is wounded and a whole Hospital is Held hostage by a Marine who had just gotten back from Vietnam. He lost his C.O so he blamed himself and snapped while playing a Baseball game with Danny and some Kids he mentored. Danny got hurt so they ended up in the Hospital and he recreated the moment when he and his outfit were on a hill in Vietnam and they were ambushed in a total massacre by the enemy no one could see. In the end Danny is rescued and the Marine is overpowered. All are saved. This was Hawaii Five O at it's finest in those early days.
One of the funniest bloopers was a little harder to notice; it was when a bad guy gets put in a car, then you'd see the car going down the road with no passengers at all or maybe two passengers. But McGarrett's car switching from 2 door to 4 door and back again takes the cake.
My favorite is the the three part Vashon episodes! My second favorite is the two part Once Upon a Time from the first season where McGarrett's sister's son is dying of cancer and hires a quack doctor. That is a compelling episode!
Correction: Iolani Palace and Aliiolani Hale (hale means house) are two different places. They are across the street from each other. Yes, The Queen did live at Iolani Palace and the statue of King Kamehameha is in front of Alliolani Hale. The 5-0 office would be in Aliiolani Hale.
This video threw me when it started talking about Iolani Palace but showing Aliiolani Hale twice. Late during the run of the series Five-O has to move into Aliiolani Hale, though I think it had moved back into Iolani by the end of the series. The move was prompted by a major renovation of Iolani.
What you call the pilot episode, was Part 1 of Cocoon, the 2 hr movie that was the catalyst of the series. Favorite episodes- Samurai, Over 50, Steal, 3 Dead Cows At Makapu, Sunday Torch.
My favorite episodes are the one with Danny’s aunt when she helps break up a bunko ring, the episodes with the pretty female undercover officer (seasons 8 and 9) and the episode with Susan Dey (so beautiful!). Also looked forward to any episode with Wo Fat… I could go on and on.
Having flown to Hawaii in 1970 on United, the Flight Attendant screw up you mention is a slight screw up, but on our flights you boarded a flight with everyone in a normal uniform, then after take off they changed to Hawaiian style cloths, then upon landing they switched back to uniforms. Lot of work for one flight😁
There was no such term/thing as a flight attendant in 1969. They were ALL called stewardesses - all young & single & female. & no males/goons, unlike today - thus the current term "flight attendant". Plus back then those pretty girls wore sexy miniskirts & later, hot pants(short shorts)! See what happens today if you call an older out of shape attendant a stewardess (or a steward - if male).
That was when flying could actually be fun. Now you give someone the wrong look and there's an F18 out the window. I know this is nasty but my sisters are really over the top with equal rights so I call flight attendants "waitresses". One is a nervous flyer so I'm always reminding her "Look, the wings really do bend".
I have a memory as a kid going to Hawaii with my family a couple of times. I remember the flight attendants changing outfits. My memory is of them starting the flight in a regular airline uniform, and then after being airborne Changing into an Hawaiian print dress
One of my favorites was "Over fifty? Steal". I guess it's the way the guy jerks McGarrett around with the characters he plays, and the ending? It's classic.
Next week on "McGarrett, Hotel Cop", It's a race against time as McGarrett must track down an international ring of pillowcase thieves before they leave the Islands and head back to the mainland.
Very entertaining video, thank you very much. By the way you made your own blooper in that the building you show at the end is not the palace but the courthouse across the street!
Jack in the pilot Hawaii five o was started on my birthday jack will never be forgotten I was in Honolulu for 6 years if I go back I would like to do a fan club in memory of Jack lord I miss the the ilani palace I have the Hawaii five o shirts and his picture I will never forget Jack lord
Jack Lord’s character seemed too straight laced for my taste but I always got a chuckle out of, “Book’em Danno!” I think I was more of a Thomas Magnum kind of fan.
Their police tactics are terrible (always pointing guns at each other), the footbeat officers carry themselves like robots, & their surveillance is goofy (parked directly across from suspects homes or locations while inside their police veh with police radio's in hand & Cleary visible to the bad guys/gals. & what's with wearing full suits & ties in Hawaii's hot & damp climate?!!! Even with all these careless flaws & others l still love watching H5-0 & consider it one of my best shows next to Columbo & Adam-12!!!
Good Gawd, I had to stop watching this. You really have too much time on your hands. Do you spend all your time watching the cars on the show? I have all the episodes on DVD but unless it's obvious, I'm not going to notice these things. And who cares?
Pedantic and obtuse, two of my favorite words for people who don't read enough. "Is the server pedantic? This pizza is sliced at an obtuse angle. Where's the manager or is he too obtuse to show himself?" Now my IBS is acting up again! (intellectual belittling syndrome).

No matter the bloopers. The show is a classic and one of the best actors, script writing.
Well said, we strongly concur! Thank you for watching our content and for sharing your thoughts. Which episode appealed to you the most?
Nobody cares about bloopers when they're watching a TV show.
❤❤❤

@@FactsVerse Too many to pick any one episode, but I liked the original line-up of actors before some changes were made throughout its run.
@@FactsVerse"Tiger by the tail" is one of my all time favorites. Their character actors were so fantastic! ❤
I couldn't watch new H50 for the same reason. (OK, I did sneak a peak at Grace Park. That's one smoking hot Korean girl.)
@@jamesdavis727we agree on all points especially Grace Park - oh momma ❤️❤️❤️

I love those episodes too! Draw Me a Killer is the comic strip killer episode where the guy is obsessed with the comic strip Judy Moon!

We just loved..so iconic”..book em Deno”..loved it
Jack Lord and James M !! 2 Handsome gentlem!!

Also the number of hubcaps that fall off Five Os cars during a chase or speeding to a crime scene. MaGarretts car goes through a lot of hubcaps..lol
and the always squealing tires. High speed chases must have been fun in those old land yachts.
As a young teenager I watched most of this on a B&W 19" TV Just like all the shows of the time todays LCD quality exposes the flaws of the past.
The one episode that really got me was the one called King of The Hill, where Danny is wounded and a whole Hospital is Held hostage by a Marine who had just gotten back from Vietnam. There is an episode where Danny busts into a room by kicking in the door.....problem is his suit changes color from when he was on the outside.
i noticed any number of gaffs also but didn't bother me at all. I love this show. It's a classic.
I'm too busy staring at Jack Lord to notice anything else!
Bloopers, no matter what this is still an enjoyable show.
The best thing about this was the restoration of the palace. Didn’t know that but glad the building was saved
The Vashon Trilogy was peak 5-O to me. Especially "The Patriarch."
One of the funniest bloopers was a little harder to notice; it was when a bad guy gets put in a car, then you'd see the car going down the road with no passengers at all or maybe two passengers. But McGarrett's car switching from 2 door to 4 door and back again takes the cake.

Blooper of blooper Where is the blooper scene that is shown on the advertisement for this clip?
My Hawaii Five -0 is special episode is 90 seconds.
It's Hawaii Five-0 with a zero. Refers to Hawaii being the 50th state. Five-O with a capital O is meaningless.
My favourite episode, is Small Potatoes
@ 5:34 Leslie Neilsen :) pre-comedy
They are all gone. Jack Lord died the worst. He was a shell of himself. Such a Sex Symbol he was, and to end that way.
