    I have the same unit, I usually have to clean it 3 times during the summer, I probably need to replace my Capacitor as well

    Surprised that high head didnt bust open that Lennox coil. Some people amaze me. Had a guy last summer who just bought a house, he asked the sellers if they had any maintenance done to the equipment, "nope we just call if it breaks" coil was matted completely. Then it was no surprise the compressor let go come spring time. Felt bad for the guy, 5 year old unit, wrecked because of no maintenance.

    Unbelievable how some people seem to forget that air conditioning coils require yearly maintenance especially when dealing with expensive equipment! Breakdown maintenance is definitely not the answer! Good Job

      @@1948Noam to be honest. Allot of people have other things on their mind. Not just air conditioning

    "Origins of COVID" - made me smile. I survived it. Lucky, I had a mild case with only a couple of days with shortness of breath. It was early 2020, before they had any treatment, so I didn't even go to the doctor. Remembering how miserable a week in a hospital bed was with a kidney stone, I decided to stay with the TVs & internet, as long as I could still walk around. Being skinny probably helped.
    I did long for a cylinder of oxygen though.

    Beautiful job. And I thought I was the only person who cleaned the exterior of the units. I use "Waterless Car Wash Wax". I just spray it on and wipe it off. It's a little easier on the paint finish than Simple Green. Then I hit the cleaned surface with spray wax and wipe it. There is wax in the cleaner. But using the spray wax makes it last longer. The condenser looks brand new. Doing this protects the paint for another year.

    I always get the no coling calls where the first question I ask is when was the last time it was maintenanced. Oh 2 years ago, there's our issues. Clogged coils and filter so gunked up it actually gets sucked into the coil. Then causing freeze ups, soaked ductwork and insulation. Low suction high head. It's a domino affect at this point

  • @Jon-hx7pe
    @Jon-hx7pe Před 2 lety +5

    if that was a crappy lennox merit, you would have had to remove a lot of screws, bend the flimsy, sharp metal coil guard out of shape removing it, then wrestled to get it all back together.
    Yet salespeople say they're just as good because "they're lennox" - no, they're just a step above goodman. A unit they put out to compete with goodman and the other cheapos.

    Had one home owner who just moved into a 6 year old house, both condensers were so caked with dirt and so thick, I was able to remove them in big strips, biggest one I took off was about 18 inches wide by about 2 feet long. it was thick enough that I’d say it was thicker than most tshirts.

    i guess that design protects the coil from dents and such but i like my old 1999 unit that is just wire cage over coils easy to rinse it off and i just have gravel around it so grass clippings don't get sucked in just dandelion seeds and crud blowing around on windy days

    Great job cleaning that condenser coil! 👍 I have a Lennox elite XC 14 A/C and I love how the panels easily come off with just two screws. The only thing I do different is use a wet/dry vac to vacuum out the leaves in the inside bottom and also on the outside coil if needed as well. Sometimes I use a brush, like you. Depends how bad it is.

    I believe Lennox’s hold the most debri when it comes to the outside being a blanket all my calls when Lennox’s are involved they are a blanket it’s so common and more expensive for the homeowners on diagnosis and labor you are good dude bro keep up the great work!!

    Nice job, anything but those crappy york coils with that "hail protection" mesh that just holds the junk in place even more.

  • @bebomarin
    @bebomarin Před 2 lety +2

    Is that a dryer vent to the left of the unit? That could explain the preponderance of lint-like debris on the coils.

  • @afmoa
    @afmoa Před 2 lety +1

    The dryer exhaust is literally right next to it. All that lint gets sucked right into it.

    Michigan Heating Guy, Fellow Michigander that needs help with putting the cabinet back together after cleaning the coils on my Lennox model # 13ACXN030. I didn't remove the top but removed all the side and corners panels. Now I'm struggling to get the side / corner panels to realign with the holes. Should I remove the top / fan panel then work on realigning the side and corner panels?
    Coils needed cleaning after almost 4 years without attention. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
