I would consider myself a Mcdonalds fan and as addressed at 0:16, the boot nugget is supposedly a favorite. The boot also happens to be my favorite because when flipped upside down, the protruding piece of chicken can be used as a handle when dipping. I hope my opinion has shed some light on the reason that Boots are the public's favorite shape.
It can also be used as a pretend gun
I actually dip the protruding piece and eat that part first, because it's just sticking out not belonging. lol
I actually dip the protruding part into the sauce so that it can scoop up more sauce lmao
@@MysticYT925 and then you've gotta take a bite out if the ball nugget to make it fit into the dip
It's by far the best shape for dipping. Works best for scraping out the rest of your sauce. And if you're not sharing, it works well for double-dipping too!

The key to healthy diet: moderation. Dont shove more food in your mouth than you need, and make sure you're mixing up what types of foods youre shoving in your mouth.
Agreed.
There are still plenty of Americans in the US who are living past 100 still, who lived during the time of junk food cover ups, heavy use of crisco and lard, as well as questionable ingredients in consumer products (here’s looking at the origins of Coca Cola).
so a 10 piece nugget? once a week? whats the exact value yogi?

"Santa invented Sprite" this and "McDonald's chicken nuggets" that. *I* wanna know how you get the peanut butter in Reese's cups to be like that. Like, it's not in the form we usually see peanut butter in (smooth and sticky); it's a bit crumbly. And yet it tastes SO good. I want answers to what kind of magic happens in getting the peanut butter inside the Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
Same
A LOT of confectionery sugar.
Empty a jar of Reese's brand peanut butter into a mixing bowl and keep mixing confectioners sugar into it until you reach the right consistency and sweetness.
Some of it might be that it's slightly coarser grind than most peanut butter. If you go to a store where you can grind your own peanut butter, it winds up being a similar consistency (In my experience).
mix it with powered sugar and freeze it!!! thats how my family has always made homemade peanut butter cups :)!
My family would go to McDonald's a lot when I was a kid and the biggest disappointment when we got a happy meal, we got a toy that we already had. Then for some reason, I eventually loved it when I got toys that I already had. I have no idea why.

The longevity of Italians actually has nothing to do with health or diet.
It’s the fact that so many elderly Italians lost their birth certificate and misreport their ages.
There’s a neat video here on CZcams explaining the facts
Also the “mediterranean diet” according to Ancel Keys was based off what Italians and Greeks ate during Lent, and thus discounted the large servings of cheese, eggs and hams and cold meats they typically have the rest of the year.
Fascinating. What is the video?
Interesting.
Very true! I do wonder what does contribute to the longevity though, I’m a second gen American raised by my Italian immigrant family and the youngest death we’ve had was 84 from dementia, everyone else typically lives from 97-110, and it’s been something that shocks my friends quite a bit (my one grandfather born in 1914 and living til 99) so I wonder what does cause it. Perhaps all of the walking and labor? (I only say this because my family runs a lot of agricultural back in Italy and a lot of close cities are like New York where it’s built for walking or short transport trips), any thoughts?
@@indiecrowarts While diet and exercise play critical roles in longevity, genetics are huge as well. A common theme in those who live so long is that they have shared ancestry.
I've recently started working at the uk McDonald’s branch and I can confirm the hash browns, fries, chicken nuggets, doughnuts, brownies and cheese dippers arrive frozen there stocked in a giant freezer that is kept at -20 degrees, everything takes 2 minutes to cook in the fryer, the apple pies takes 5 minutes to cook, the brownies are delivered frozen then thawed out and packed up before breakfast menu ends
The bottled drinks such as orange juice, water, milk, and fruit drinks are kept in a giant fridge at -12 degrees,I have seen the new vegan patties (beyond meat patties) being cooked and they smell like something is burning it reeks
I always thought the UK was arguably better with their food, sure sounds like we're the same, but the U.S just adds more salt and random preservatives in ours.
To be fair, some of those products such as nuggets, hash browns and maybe dippers are often better frozen before fried anyway. just seems to work well for some foods, especially deep fried ones
@ChaosGoesBRR guess it's standard practice it's a reason why it's called fast food
And? It's FAST food. Not gramma's home cooking that takes 12 hours to prepare. If you want a pure, pristine food go grab a carrot from the ground. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
That last one is not surprising. Those patties are for non-vegans, despite being even less healthy than just a normal burger.
With so many great channels on CZcams this is amongst the best
Thus video randomly appeared on my recommendation and immediately made me hungry
As much as I love their chicken nuggets their old nuggets were even better (around 2003 or before) I remember they changed at least their oil and I think their nuggets too to be slightly more healthy. Ofc the older less healthy version tasted even better.
Pretty sure they used to fry everything in lard until that point. Not 100% certain on that, but pretty sure.
Semi-related side note:
Do you remember those "healthier" potato chips that came out around that same time period that were fried in Olean (something like that) that have a bunch of people the Hershey squirts? I think it was right around the time that fast food switched to vegetable fryer oil; maybe a few years before baked chips came out.
Aaaand I just found 3 e-prositutes in here
They used to use dark meat too. That would have sent the Nuggets waaaaay into really bad for you! Lol
@Vacana Salma stupid bots
Nowadays every other fast food place is better at nuggets
I worked at McDonald's back in the 90's, while I was in high school. In the freezer I would see the boxes of the McNuggets and it listed the ingredients. I never counted how many ingredients there were in them, but I was surprised at how long the ingredient list was. The strangest ingredient I remember seeing on the box was Alaskan Cod. Never could get a straight answer out of anyone why fish was one of the ingredients to the McNuggets.
Cheap meat produce
Like, it was leftovers from a fish product
they just come in blue bags in a generic box in australia
I guarantee the chicken McNuuggets from the 90s were less healthy, used real meat, but more fattening compared to the chicken McNuggets served in the 2000's! I recall there was a point where the nuggets seemed more artificial, factory produced and didn't teste as good as they used to in the 90s! In their attempt to make them more healthy, they lost some of their delicious flavor! after they changed them, I switched to Wendy's nuggets instead because they use real meat that doesn't taste artificial!
@@zipzeolocke2 I enjoy Wendy's nuggets soooo much more than McDonald's.

1:37 “A domino of lies that gave rise to world’s favorite poultry-based snack.” LOL
Speaking of health lies, I bought a breakfast muffin from the supermarket recently because it said “healthy” in the title. I looked at the label when I got home and… yeah… It looked exactly like the labels on my usual doughnut or sugary cereal. Can you put the word “healthy” on ANYTHING? Are there no guidelines? Just wondering if I can say I have a “healthy” diet while wrist deep in my second Pringles can.
and the pringles can thing is because people were told to skimp on salt based on the same bad data, cravings based on deficiencies, especially if drinking coffee.
Considering the episode on chocolate where words were *claimed* as actually part of the brand and it wasn't truly chocolate per the law norms, I would not be surprised that this could be a similar case ^^'
It's no different than the labels that mention how a drink, for example, is naturally flavored with other natural flavors. That's not a thing. It's just marketing.
Don't look at calories, that's misleading garbage.
By the by, 96% of nutrition labels lie about calorie content, and often, the label will be plus fifty to five hundred percent more than actual calorie count per serving. Why? Mainly because calories are inconsistent, and the calorie content of a good is usually measured at preparation, not before packaging, after everything is done. Calories are not thermally stable. A baked cookie will have less calories than the prepared raw ingredients. How much less? Ranges anywhere from one tenth of a percent to eighty percent (though anything past sixty percent is probably going to be setting off your smoke alarms lolz).
So, instead, look for the primary ingredients (the first five to ten), and see what they are. That will be your 'healthy' determination.
yeah at this point i dont trust any labels. Like cage free chickens? yeah they are not in a cage but they are all jammed packed together (easy to transmit diseases) in poor conditions except they are outside just so they can have that label.
I still somewhat like their nuggets but the thing is, they're always selling a very large quantity of them for very cheap. The chicken isn't of high quality and has a lot of additives. I'm not a massive stickler for those things per se, but I do raise an eyebrow every time I see thosr 20 or 40 nugget deals for dirt cheap.
They used to have their buttermilk tenders a few years ago, which were made to order (I always had to pull up and wait for them). Those were absolutely delcious, especially with their ranch dressing. You could get them covered in barbecue sauce as well, but those to me weren't as good as just the hot chicken by itself and dipped into the sauce. Wish they'd bring them back because the nuggets are not nearly as good as those.
they aren’t made to order. we kept them with the hot foods
@@majinally3527 Mine usually were, with maybe only one instance where I got them without having to wait a long time. Maybe that's how your location worked but most of the ones in my city made them fresh.
You could get the 20 or 40 nugget deals for multiple people and not just yourself. I know this because my mom often buys larger quanteties of something for cheaper because she feeding her six children and her husband and herself and she doesn't want to become poor. But I do see why it would be concerning to see that, I can't imagine anyone eating that many chicken nuggets all by themself
@@Wind_Cursed Oh, I'm certain they're to be shared, that wasn't my issue. I'm just saying that the chicken used is not of that great of quality because of the vast quantity they're selling. I still eat them every now and then, but that info is always there in the back of my head.
Yeah, I always knew something was off because if its THAT cheap, there's something WRONG

I'd love an episode on the food pyramid. I deal with eating disorders, and it has been an issue in my family for 4 generations. Learning about the absolute bullshit that went into making the pyramid and BMI actually helped me a little.
The What I've Learned channel already covers it.
Oh yes, BMI. Bullshittery Mindfuckery Index.
The BMI is so toxic I agree so much…. According to their standards a body builder is m- obe- (shortened that because I was very concerned about triggering some of us here 😞) like for starters ew what is with that language how insensitive :/ so it’s hard to believe them at all. I think it’s impossible to know someone’s BMI without extensive testing. No way to get it from a chart. Anyways I’m so sorry about your eating disorder and I’m so happy you’ve been able to heal ❤️ they are so horrible 😞
@@meggalaxy extensive testing isn’t really necessary for the average person as you can visually see if someone is high on the bmi scale if they’re morbidly obese, it’s not just “trust the numbers”. Morbidly obese isn’t insensitive, it’s literally being obese to a point where you have a high chance of dying because of it and ignoring stuff like that is only going to cause more deaths and morbidly obese people
BMI is a tool that shouldnt be used as a silver bullet, it should be used in combination with many other factors. People may get overweight more easily due to genetics, poor nutrition, bad sleeping habits, stress, sedentary lifestyle, diet, environment etc.
There are certain lifestyle choices that have no positive physical effect on your body like smoking, drinking, or doing recreational drugs.
Also it doesnt help that the more convenient and cheap something is to buy, the less healthy it is (on average). People should avoid fast food as much as possible, but nowadays people are usually to busy to even learn and spend time learning how to cook.
People may come from work too tired to go exercise, stress from our day to day lives keeps us awake at night.
Weight gain simply put, is caused by a lot of factors, suddenly changing your diet wont magically fix it, but it will help.
I love food theories even over game and film theories just because food is so universal. Might have come away from another thing just to watch this because food based facts and tea are just as addicting as chicken nuggets themselves…

The boot has a shape that fits perfectly in the sauce, letting you scoop the perfect amount. While the other shapes work but not as well
people like the boot more because it's shaped like the leg of their masters that they lick daily
It has a handle
Its an adversarial example in humans that result in neural activations in the brain that coincidentally align with the conceptual feelings of love and attraction. This makes boots attractive to humans.
It's not that deep bro@@gpt-jcommentbot4759
I don’t like sauce it’s still my favorite tho. The nub makes it special, and it’s a good first or last bite.
The boot, bell, bow tie, ball and Amogus.😂
(Ik Amogus isn’t actually a shape, it’s just been trending lol)
This video provides valuable insights into the history and marketing strategies behind McDonald's Chicken McNuggets. It's eye-opening to learn about the deceptive practices and nutritional realities behind a beloved fast food item. I'm grateful for the thorough research presented in this video, which helps viewers make more informed food choices.
The WHO declares literally EVERY material as a carcinogen though. In their entire history, only one material has ever been declared totally uncarcinogenic.
Might want to watch the video but.
It's about cholesterol and all. Which can be easily proven it contains
I personally don't believe anything the WHO says. It's all about money for them.
What item?
@@dutchik5107 you might want to watch the video. He says at the end of the video that red meat is claimed to be a carcinogenic by WHO.
Water isn't carcinogenic. But it kills thousands of people every year!
I have an interesting question for a food theory! What is the best way to store your take away fast food to prevent it from getting cold? Paper bags and folding or scrunching them? Boxes? Plastic wraps? What can keep my fast food burger warm the best and longest on my car ride home?
Ex Fast Food worker here. I use to work at a restaurant where we would sell pints of custard/ice cream. In order to keep the custard cold while people were traveling, we would double bag the pints. It would insulate the pints and kept them a little colder. Maybe try that next time you're out and about?
"Interesting" ...
A thermal topper
Amazing animation. Truly amazing…. 👍🙏
"This one is gonna be spicier than that limited edition szechuan sauce" not a hard feat, considering the 1998 szechuan sauce wasn't spicy, like at all.
I don’t care about their lies. I still love them. And I will continue to consume them. You can’t stop me Matthew Patrick.
lol
You literally took the words out of my mouth.
I wholeheartedly agree 😤👌
also why're there so many bots in here--
6:08 i think a science channel should really exist (:
it doesn't HAVE to be matpat explaining other sciences
Science theory WOULD be actually awesome
Nope it's now fashion

@Safwaan death battle
Yeah, I was very surprised by that.
7:18 oooh right, this is a story about McDonald's
I felt like I was in history class for a second there-
Just ate a 20 piece with buffalo sauce while watching this. Took almost exactly the same amount of time to eat as watch this episode.
WHY ARE YOU BLUSHING 0:29

@@Kirbo24 did u look up timed
Lol
@@sofiashire2298 yes
You mean the bowtie
I think the boot is the best because of the little piece sticking off makes that part crispier and it’s more fun to either eat the extra part first or save it for last.
It's easier to dip too!
@@laukinath194 The foot becomes a handle.
Never looked long enough at my Chicken Nuggets to see that there are only 4 shapes. Thanks Mat.
The McNugget Happy Meal used to be my usual before I turned to the big mac
They've been unstable for me, even as an adult. They're easier to eat than a cheeseburger, and I love the dipping sauce. It's also won the cheapest combos on the menu. No matter what you tell me matpat, they're still going to be my favorite, and I'm still going to keep ordering them. They're also one of the only Foods on McDonald's menu, that if you left it out overnight, it will still taste good, as if you just ordered a new one.
Welp good luck to u in the future when u get heart disease at the age of 50
@@benjamintan5399 I don't eat out at McDonald's everyday. Maybe once in a week on a Friday or Saturday or Sunday. Usually I only go when I need to eat something, but don't have a lot of time or money. But that seems to be the gimmick that works for McDonalds.
What if they caused cancer? Would you still eat them?
@@sensitiivv_ most likely. Stated multiple times, I only get them out of convenient. And they're one of the cheapest condos on McDonald's combo meal. The truth is, I really like the BBQ dipping sauce. Other than that, I can probably do without the nuggets.

6:07 you can’t put an Easter egg without me seeing it lmao
You forgot the fifth McNugget shape, the most precious of all: the Among Us nugget.
I am 100% in for the food pyramid debunking episode! IMO, lower carb vegetables should definately be on the bottom as "consume most" but I'd love to see where things actually fall. Oh, and I don't think fruit is "just as healthy" as vegetables, as any diabetic knows that fruit sure does send those sugars soaring lol
Agreed
@@jordanabraham44 Yep, 3 of the worst things in modern diets come directly and solely from plants. Sugar, vegetable oils, and processed grains. Absolutely none of which the human body is made to handle correctly in the amounts we have in our diets.
@@jordanabraham44 Wait a second. Why no vegetables?
I was watching a documentary on the two ladies aka food nutritionist / scientist that created the "food pyramid". In it, they said the FDA literally turned it upside down. So what's at top should be bottom and at bottom should be top. They stated the reason was it would affect poor Americans the most while saving on SNAP benefits. They could create a "balanced meal" very cheaply, thus reducing the needs to provide food stamps at the expense of their health. They reasoned the average middle class American would continue to eat the "correct" foods as they could afford it. I doubt our government would ever jeopardize the health and well being of the American people, so you'd have to decide if these government employed women were liars or not.
@@thehighllama8101 vegetable OILS ,, advertised as that but actually seed oils are SUPER bad. Vegetables themselves are excellent in the majority of cases
I'm amazed to learn that there's actually real meat in a McDonalds Chicken Nugget.
The boot is honestly the best nugget shape
I will always cherish the nuggs, even if they’re evil.
Chug the nuggs, dude
That's an Obi-Wan and Anakin moment right there

Same 👹
Same, they could be poisoned and I'd be like "good bye world" and continue eating them
Thanks! That means alot!
I feel like I am the only one that doesn't love chicken nuggets, I mean they're eatable ig but they're too dry for me even with the sauce
Me and my family rarely went to places like McDonald's lol. Even if we did, I would get a burger, fries, drink and sometimes they would ask for a toy for me cus happy meals were none expensive
