  • In this episode, we finally make it to Winton in Central Queensland, home of the Australian Age of Dinosaurs Centre on the Australian Dinosaur Trail. This place had been on our bucket list for quite some time, and it certainly did not disappoint. We spent a fantastic day exploring the park and also experienced a small piece of what Winton has to offer. However, with the new truck on a strict timeline, we had to cut our Central Queensland adventure short and continue on towards the East Coast to get the new truck built!
    Enjoy!

Another great stopover and video, and fascinating to hear some of the science behind the fossils at the museum. The park and sculptures look amazing too. A good tip about packing lunch for the tour too! Unfortunately we have that terrible book on our bookshelf: 'How to fossilise your hamster, and other amazing experiments for the armchair scientist', so it's hard to watch anything with fossils without thinking of the hapless hamster. Looking forward to seeing how the new tow vehicle pans out for you.

We had a hampster when we lived in the UK, his name was Frankie J, his back story was a hard-working construction worker from The Bronx, he loved a good Sunday arvo at Yankee Stadium... There was more, but we do have quite the imagination.. Frankie lives to an ancient age of 3.5 years, 1 year longer than your average hampster. 🍻👍

@@VetinaVan We're huge fans of the little Roborovski's Hamster. We love that they live together in highly organised families of 10 to 12 and can cover the same distance as a half marathon when out foraging for food at night - plus they are impossibly cute! My wife (who originally lived way, way north of Aus) had a Syrian Hamster as a pet, like most of the kids her age. I don't think her hamster hung out in the Bronx, but wifey did grow up in a pretty tough 'hood so I guess her hamster did by default. This is what you get for sharing dinosaur fossils - discussion on the finer points of hamsters living in tough neighbourhoods! 😂 Looking forward to the next video!

My wife and I booked and paid for a powered site in Winton. We got confused and parked in the wrong caravan park. It was adjacent. We found out when we returned the key in the morning.

Winton is a very strategic place for other let's say more secretive things.
LBJ who stepped up rather quickly to be sworn in when JFK was so called assassinated. Well LBJ was at Carisbrook station 1942 June. Just be very careful in a place like Winton.

They were impressed with his talent. He was a FM who helped fund raise for Qantas another FM set up.
