  • In this episode we arrive in Alice Springs where we explore the East MacDonnell Ranges. We all known the West MacDonnell Ranges, however the east side is often overlooked when people pass through. This is our fifth time staying in Alice Springs and our first time visiting the East MacDonnell Ranges, and it did not disappoint! We had a heap of rain come through and the rivers were flowing and gorges full, all I can say is that the walks through the gorges were nothing short of completely stunning. Once the rain cleared out we explored Emily Gap, Jessie Gap, Corroboree Rock, John Hayes Rockhole, Chain of Ponds walk and Trephina Gorge!

Seriously, this country we are fortunate enough to live in is nothing short of spectacular. So diverse, and incredible surprises around every corner. Thanks for showing it so beautifully and respectfully 🥰. I couldn’t be more in love with Aus.

So well said, and so very true! Could not agree more. It would take us more than one lifetime to see everything that's on our front doorstep, so very lucky. 👍😀😀

The video did not do them justice during sunset, it was like a back drop from a Hollywood movie set, the colour so rich it did not seem real. Simple stunning. 😀😀😀

Yup we were super lucky to see it so wet, would have loved to have put the drone up during some of the walks but all the parks are no drone zones. 👍🍻😀

It was actually quite nice, we had the van opened up most nights. When it was raining (for 4 days that didn't make the video cut), I think we even had the heater on at night! 😀

I was in Alice in the 80’s. it had been raining and the casino was flooded. I went to Ayer’s Rock in a car. It rained as we drove around. It was hot and my window was down. An oncoming car splashed me with water. My shirt was stained red. I treasured it for many years.

So good, it was raining on the rock when we were in Alice, almost drove out there to see it! But save that one for another day! 👍😀🍻

I've never been sure why, but the East MacDonnell Ranges have always been overshadowed by the West. That's a shame in our humble opinion. What an amazing experience to be there when there is so much groundwater in the gorges. Very much looking forward to part two!

Yup, we were super lucky to see them after the rain, was simply stunning. The Chain of Ponds walk is one of the best we have ever done! Even though most of the walk was under a foot of water! 😀😀👍

Also the Finke River out at the West McDonald Ranges, it was magic. There were also fish in the creek at the Devils Marbles.
