120 Minutes would air on sunday nights, beyond that show, I dont remember MTV having any freeform format running late night. The playlist of videos got a bit more diverse past midnight however was never like crossing a threshold into a garden of earthly delights for the brave few that wanted something other than the loop of videos they played during the day. I may have missed the era when they did do that. I do agree though, it is great to have a source that can expose people to new things to try rather than just serving up "prepared meals". Or shows featuring Brett Michaels trying to find "love". Ugh
It’s a tale as old as time. Whomst among us hasn’t been momentarily late on account of running out of crystal fuel to our rendezvous with our recently revived beloved?
This video is a perfect representation of how dreams work. The movement, vehicles, and themes. Its hard to put into words but... like vivid dreams they are really difficult to describe and even harder to articulate, I felt that everyone involved in creating this really did a great job at bringing such an abstract concept to life.
Bjork is hot like lava. This girl right here can croon. In concert, she is right on the money in her tone, pitch, and confidence. I love me some Bjork!
"When Michel [Gondry] gets his strokes of genius and, in the video for "Army of Me", wants a dentist that's a gorilla to find a diamond in my mouth, some people call it nonsense. But it's probably the most realistic way of expressing what situation I'm in - all these people trying to take things away from me, and the gorilla finding a diamond that I don't know I have and then stealing it. "Army of Me" is so much about me actually learning that I have to defend myself. I have to stand up and fight the fucking gorilla. Once I've got the diamond and I run away with it, it becomes massive 'cos it's mine. But if the gorilla had kept it, it would have gone really tiny. That's surrealism for me"
surrealism doesn't even begin to encapsulate this vid. it basically feels like dream logic to me. the fact that she can articulate it makes me realize bjork basically exists in a constant dream logic state, which is probably why she's so weird. in a good way!

@@Cargo_Bay that is definitely not true, now more than ever you can reach and hook people with videos to go along with your music as it's never been *easier* to make a video and distribute it. The only problem is that with that new slope youll also notice people tend to not necessarily care about expressing something through the medium at least in the same sense Bjork did, more so just trying to hook you with hypnotic videos of lavish things or weird/trippy visuals. I cried myself to sleep with a toothache begging for help. I visited Hades after petting the 3 headed dog. Then I got evicted for asking if angels would bestow healing. I still lost the tooth.
OMG, I've "known of" Bjork for decades but never once listened to her music until just now. I have seriously been missing out. Like so many folks have said, she does an interesting industrial, electronica mashup that's as timeless as it gets. I was always a fan of Yoko Ono's "Art of Noise" for much the same reasons, but this is a whole different level. And here's the kicker... this girl knows her music theory because much of it is in Locrian scale. The most dissonant still yet musical scale of the diatonics, and she makes it sound effortless. Believe me it is not. It's hard as hell to write in. I'm an instant fan.
Vocês não imaginam o quanto foi impactante para a formação da minha personalidade, ter visto isso criança na MTV (Sou de 92). A estética desse clipe, música e tudo mais é uma coisa grandiosa. Definitivamente uma "Core Memory" para mim.
This song reminds me of a person I know that complains bout everything from the moment they open their eyes to the minute they close em they have nothing positive to say. And they have a hard time keeping friends around bc no one wants to be around someone so negative... so everyday they be met with an army of ppl not willing to put up with their bs no more.. And maybe somewhere simultaneously someone who complains so little in life is met with an army of complainers at every turn.. it's like watching it from God's seat. What a song

I still recall seeing this video in the 90s as a kid. It's always left an impression, I don't know why it's just something magical about it. A sort of surrealism that captures me.
I remember when she was in matching Star Wars PJs with my uncle Jeremy Scott in the mid 90s making really bad pancakes. I had no idea who she was and was organizing Jeremy's sister's storage in the basement at their parents' Jim and Sandy's house. She gave me some tapes and CDs and I thought they were too weird. Telegraph was pretty good, but I didn't learn to appreciate the experience a decade later when a university friend shared one of her new videos and I was like, Oh. I was in a prog metal band for 10 years, wrote well over 500 experimental instrumental pieces with instruments I made and my grandma still bugs me to contact Bjork to work with her, but I'm an artist and engineer, game designer with severe social anxiety. This video was in my suggestions and it brought me back. I had to vent.
Uma vez essa música tocou numa balada noturna que eu estava nossa fui ao delírio foi surreal e o pessoal tudo estranhando um som tão surpreendente quanto esse ❤
Bjork is a bizarre force of nature. Like an elemental ice sprite from the polar vortex. And I love it. She's so weird and it's beautiful. This was back when she was this cute little Icelandic girl who sounded like NO ONE AND NOTHING. And even today she's almost 60 and still killing it so hard.
Bjorks voice is so ethereal and otherworldly. This song is really hypnotizing and listening to it makes me feel like I'm having an outer body experience. I can listen to it on repeat all day and not get tired of it. Along with a few hits of acid, and I'm passed the outskirts of infinity!
This was the type of music that MTV used to air late at night. No youtube, no netflix, it was surreal and amazing to watch.

Self-sufficience please! 자기만족도 이제 그만
And get to work. 그리고 이제 일어나
You're on your own now 이제 너 스스로 해봐
We won't save you 우린 널 구해줄 수 없어
Your rescue-squad 널 도와주는 것도

I cried myself to sleep with a toothache begging for help. I visited Hades after petting the 3 headed dog. Then I got evicted for asking if angels would bestow healing. I still lost the tooth.
A Bjork é incrível. Tão única e original. Muito boa essa música ❤
i really hope this means HD “Venus As A Boy” holy shit i will lose my mind
of course she will post it!
That's the one I'm expecting too
Same
Can't wait!
Are we getting a blu ray of her videos finally ? Why does no one ( Michael Jackson , Madonna , Gaga ) release their music videos on blu rays ?
this is my favorite music video ever. it’s so strange and bizarre in such an entertaining and addictive way
Just found it for the first time, watched it like 7 times today
Crescent You just pretty much described Michel Gondry's entire videography. Great director!
Increíble. Una de mis favoritas. Me la puedo poner en bucle, nunca me aburre ❤❤❤❤❤
She draws out the word “once” into four syllables. Love it.
i think that might have been just 3 syllables but still 😭 i love it too
Lilith Jade “ooh wah ah ahnce”
@@augustinopulliam7458 hahaha. your comment is amazing.
The musical terminology for it is 'melisma' but it's still cool :)
Auggie Pulliam Thanks for the co-sign, you know what’s up. 😌
This bassline is like the most badass thing ever made
Timeless. Surreal. Artistic. Amazing. ❤
I remember dancing to this when it came out in the 90s, The Vogue in Seattle, holla!
I was the only one in the movie theater who was excited to hear this song in "Sucker Punch"
You've must have been the only one in the theatre then
@@tylermurphy9946 hahaha, nope, but I was probably the oldest guy there
This song came on during that movie and I yelled "Bjork!!!" My husband said "what?" and I knew we weren't meant to be.....Just kidding but am I......
I first heard this song in the movie Tank Girl back in 1995
@@snowflake1125 I found out about this band from the movie sucker-punch earlier today. I love it.
Does this mean an HD release of "All is Full of Love" will be possible?
One of my favorites
omg!!! yeeees!
That would be amazing
Yessss please
Actually there's a 4k version of "all is full of love" here on CZcams.
Just so powerful, who knew it would be the song stuck ringing in my head, all I think about when hearing of Björk is this song!
It’s funny how for us this is one of the most iconic mvs but for her it was probably just a day of work
It’s the dawn of 2022 and this song still hits hard 🤘
Feel free to screenshot
How old is this song?
@@yoxrslxt it came out in april 1995
@@JoeBidenSucks42069 oh wow
the john bonham drum sample helps it hit hard
I worked with Michel Gondry (the guy who made this mv) in 2012. Can tell you his aesthetic seeps into everything he touches. It is really special.
The video is amazing on so many levels. He's just as original as the music.
I heard he was tapped to direct an adaptation of Phillip K. Dick's Ubik. he's definitely the man for the job!
He is absolutely the best music video director of all time. The list of great videos he's made over the years is insanely long.
Going through my 80s and 90s music and the videography truly epic. That Mtv days. After school watch.🎉
Björk é uma das melhores artistas do século
Simplesmente incrível
she's really cute
just like you
Björk is a sound visionairy, a guru. She runs around with her soundmachines making music as she goes... true talent!
I love her style and music
Es la mejor canción que he escuchado en mi vida, gracias Meli por enseñarme esta canción tan buena.
Its crazy how many people come back to this everyday... this song is a masterpiece!!
Bjork is so strange but I can’t get enough, she is the weird in all of us.
What a song
QUEEN. OF. AVANT-GARDE. AND. ALTERNATIVE. PERIODT.
What about Kate Bush?
Cold facts
No Nina Hagen!??
Bjork is a fucking moron
@@callactm14 what?
this is the most LEAST toxic comment section ive ever seen.
Are you sure you know what the word "toxic" means?
I dunno man. There's someone in the comments who's angry because their workplace (a hospital) wants them to get a flu vaccine.
all is full of love, at least in the björk comment sections :v
@@Nick1921945 sounds like something a toxic person would say
@@MorbidMoonflower haha i saw that. still, in comparison to most videos on youtube nowadays id say this comments section is relatively tame
I miss the 90s, staying up late until 12am watching the pop up videos and falling asleep, nostalgia 101.
Fantastic song! Really has a special place in my heart! Really surreal vibe.
For a song written in a locrian mode having Locusts on the grill is a nice touch.
Yeah, not many mainstream songs use locrain, if this song was in any other mode, it wouldn't sound as mysterious and "off"
@@residentsharkenjoyer1690 how do you figure out what mode a song is in just by listening to it?
find the main key then?
@@robosing225 army of me is in the key of D I think, can't be too sure, and I usually just listen to music and from ear I can see if a song has certain notes or keys,
@@robosing225 also the song kinda borders on other modes, so it's easy to mix up
The bassline is in locrian and she wisely avoids the b5 in the verse maintaining the modal ambiguity until the chorus where she goes phrygian
One of the most beautifully batshit videos ever made. Love it! Bravo, Bjork and Michel!!
This song is incredible. She's an amazing artist. Absolute musical genius.
I look back ten years, she was doing things I can hardly comprehend today.
I don't want to alarm you but this was 25 years ago.
I used to be obsessed with this in the AOL days
Uma vez essa música tocou numa balada noturna que eu estava nossa fui ao delírio foi surreal e o pessoal tudo estranhando um som tão surpreendente quanto esse ❤
Bjork is a bizarre force of nature. Like an elemental ice sprite from the polar vortex. And I love it. She's so weird and it's beautiful. This was back when she was this cute little Icelandic girl who sounded like NO ONE AND NOTHING. And even today she's almost 60 and still killing it so hard.
this was UNGODLY AHEAD OF ITS TIME !!!!!!!!! IT COULD DROP ANYTIME UNTIL THE END OF TIME AND IT SOUNDS NEW!!!
Hats off to Michel Godry .. 20 years later he doin his stuff with kylie ..well done
Bjorks voice is so ethereal and otherworldly. This song is really hypnotizing and listening to it makes me feel like I'm having an outer body experience. I can listen to it on repeat all day and not get tired of it. Along with a few hits of acid, and I'm passed the outskirts of infinity!
Cringe
