Toph is easily one of the best written characters ever. She's so great and the whole her being handicapped doesn't feel forced at all. She fits the story and the team so well.
Her handicap is literally her whole story. She was always treated like such a scared helpless child due to being born blind. She ended up learning original earth bending from the og master earthbender moles because they were always blind, and it taught her how to be self sufficient and strong.

Fun Fact: Toph's back in the LoK becomes visibly more curved in comparison to her design in ATLA. This is due to the constant immense weight on her shoulders that is carrying the entire show ever since she was introduced in the swamp episode.

I'm surprised that the animators decided to do this, it does make sense that the police work would worn her out at some point but I didn't think she would go back to her height when she was young Toph.
The majority of old people shrink in size because their bones meld together or something like that. It's a natural thing.

For a woman today it’s slightly above average (5ft 4 is the modern average) but in a fantasy world that was practically medieval I can imagine she would’ve been tall for her time.

First off, love your content. Secondly….EXACTLY people be hyping up toph to no end
I wonder how her first fight with Aang would go if she knew what she knows now.
Honestly, she probably could. Just from seeing what she does to a portion of it when saving her family. Just by shaking the ground.
But as she says, there has to be a point where you leave it to a younger generation. And added with her back already always hurting, coupled with Eartthbenders needing to brace themselves.
I'm not saying it'd be easy for her, AND she would be in EXCRUCIATING pain. But I do think she'd be able to win that fight.
However, I'm glad they were consistent. Even though we all know both Zuko and Toph were among the strongest in the world, you can't have them taking over.
So show that their still mad OP, but ultimately taking a loss.

@@tsuyuasui7297 Yeah. It isn't that your bones actually get shorter, but you lose your ability to stand at your full height. Osteoporosis causes a shortening of the spinal column (not the bones in the spine, although those do get damaged) and arthritis keeps you from standing fully upright.

When I was a kid, around probably 12, she was my first anime crush. Why? Well.. she didn't let her disabilities affect her, she didn't let blindness pull her down, she used it as a strength and showed what she's capable of to the world. Strong girls are so easy to crush on ngl.
