    Well done Ted, I like the reflective foil idea! The shear line is a real pain being where it is and I have been thinking about making my own decals to get that nice and crisp. Glad to see that you are on the case with this kit now! Regards JH :-)

    Bit of advice. If lighting the hull do not use bright white LEDs. Use a dull white, somewhere between creamed yellow. That way it will look more authentic to the scale and Titanic's lighting in 1912. (I would bin the kits lighting system). Also, this is crucial - do NOT put the deck mounted LEDs on the deckhouses that are used to light up the funnels. Titanic and her sisters never had such features as ships funnel lighting did not come into use until the mid 1920s.

      I tried to use the funnel lights to light the inside of the hull, but wasn’t very successful, I’m looking for an alternative

    Well done Ted, I was starting to wonder when the third video was going to show up. I figured that since the kit is so large you were building an extension to your hobby room! Looking forward to the next video.

    Fun video. I'm somehow relieved that your 'not' doing the photo etch, or enhanced decking. It will be nice to see it as it is from the box. Are you planning on doing the rigging lines? I do find it odd that such an expensive kit doesn't ship with them. It will be interesting to see what you come up with for those if you're planning on doing them.

    Hi can I use a 12v phone battery LED lights as I've put the 5v light in with the 1/200 trumpeter Titanic kit and put some 12v lights in but not stuck the 2 top decks in yet

    Nicely done Ted. When painting the hull why not use the natural lines to mask off the area to be protected. It seems the pencil line is a bit of an over kill?

    What did you use for the red antifouling paint?

    Did you use primer before painting the antifouling?

    As the historian who assisted with Trumpeter on this kit I can honestly say that Trumpeter's paint guide/colour chart is off. Long story, not going to even go into it.

      since there were no colour photos of Titanic, only white star flyers/ posters how do you know where the colour scheme is wrong.?

    Ted can you please help. I have painted the Titanic in matt. Can I put matt Varnish on before the decol. Regards Brian

      @skipperted Před 3 lety +1

      Just to be certain put a gloss coat on just in the areas the decals, then overspray them matt to match the rest of the model

    I wish you could film in higher definition. What is your estimate of total hours into the project so far?
