Curtis is such a fish, I'm sorry 🤦🏼 i would like to invite him to my home-game as well. I wouldn't say anything if he wasn't constantly so matter-of-fact about his reads which are never right. He made the right play w/the KJ but obviously he was dead-wrong when he was guessing what they had. Meanwhile he never switches up his play, never changes his decision making - just basic, mostly incorrect overplays, blindly guessing his opponents' hands, always incorrectly. It's tough to watch at times 🤷🏼♂️

@@dauntedpigeon well, I mean, to be fair, I play home games because that's really all that's available in my hometown. I've played all over the US though. I mostly came up in illegal backroom gambling halls ran by a family member, who was a pro, & ran a-lot of the games around here, where I also worked as a dealer, from 2011 to 2013 until it was raided, along w/every other game available. Now games are harder & harder to find, unless you wanna play for drink-tickets in bar tourneys. I've played in circuit tourneys in Tunica, on riverboats in Florida, I played in a 1k buy-in tournament during the WSOP in 2012 (placed 348th out of 1000) in Vegas. My best run was I turned around $900 into close to 8 grand over the course of a weekend in Memphis, & then tuned 4 grand of that into 18k the next weekend. I mean, it's tough to fly to Vegas to play in the bigger cash-games/tourneys when you live on the other side of the country. Unfortunately I don't play much outside of weekend home games anymore because 1) I'm an a recovering opioid addict & back when I was playing poker for a living, i would load up on roxy 30s or opana 20s, & eventually heroin before each game to eliminate the nerves, which I was getting partly from an older couple that were regulars at the games 2) the swings were just absolutely brutal, & it got to where some of the beats I took seemed like I was getting cheated, & 3) it all took a toll on my mental health & led to my addiction becoming completely out of control
& I stopped grinding as a result. Based on my experience tho, just because you have a few hundred K to dump off on TV, it doesn't make you a good player, & I think every top player would agree w/that sentiment. Curtis is no exception.
