- Filmed on June 19, 2024. In this video we had two issues with our mobile produce trailer and one of them could have turned out disasterous if not delt with imediantly, but fortunately I returned home just in time to take care of the problem.
No matter how much time I spend prepping the farm and the employees for my absence for a few days while on an aniversary trip it never fails that something will go wrong.

So many moving parts to make this business work. A day without anything breaking is a day of gratitude.
You got that right, I spend half my life putting out fires around this farm but every once in a while, you’ll get a perfect day with nothing bad happening and I count that day as a real blessing.
@@wishwellfarms those days scare the he'll out of me.
Something big is about to go wrong! 😅
I am a commercial pilot, we have checklists for everything we do, so we don't forget critical things we need to do. Maybe make a check list for all your drivers on how to use the trailer jacks and also for unpacking the canopy, etc, etc?
I actually have a check list that we used in the past but have lost the file and need to redo it, that would have helped for sure.

That's why you just can't leave during the busy season!
Glad you got some.camping in. Happy Anniversary. UP of Michigan is awesome.
We love it up there, spent my childhood winters snowmobiling and the springs mushroom hunting around Gaylord/Grayling/Houghton Lake area.
if it aint one thing its a thousand lol. ive used some tape called "gear aid tenacious tape" for patching water bladders, tents, ect great stuff if you haven't used it. glad you guys got everything home safely! Happy Anniversary to you and your wife my you be blessed with many many more!!
There’s always something. All part of it though. Hope you had a fantastic trip and Happy Anniversary. The UP is awesome. Nice to see you out the Colonel to work over on this channel lol. Btw I’ve lost a hitch pin before on a camping trip and had to improvise with one of those big tent pegs. Worked like a charm.
haha you never know what item you may have on hand to serve another purpose. I seem to putting fires out around the farm almost daily...your right, there is always something! We had a fantastci time in MI, just not long enough!
Happy Anniversary!!!
thanks!
yep,it would be pretty weird if in boss' absence the employees hadn't messed up something. It's a general law of the universe.
Now for the money question "Does Emma still have a job? 😮
@@mrdio4625 yes, both girls still do. Don’t believe it was Emma anyways. Still not sure how it happened or who’s responsible but we all make mistakes and just thankful no one was injured and that the trailer survived.
Yea little things like that are going to happen. Nobody was hurt , no real damage was done , and the earth is still spinning. Brush it off and live another day.
Thinking of starting a market farm this next year in Iowa and your trailer tent seems like a great idea. do you know the brand of the tent portion? thanks!
The company is Rainbow Industries in Springfield Ohio: www.rainbowindustries.com/
The Witten Farm Market in Ohio has about 20 of the flat bed wagon style: www.wittenfarm.com/locations/
I always wondered how Bellefontaine was pronounced. I grew up in the Cleveland area and they always pronounced it Bell-fon-taine. Down here in the Columbus area they pronounce it Bell-fountain. What gives?
It’s pronounced Bell fountain. But for fun, I like to say belly fon tane
I'm in Michigan
my favorite state, other than NC mountains.
You need to find a more efficient hitch system
Any hitch will have an issue if you crank the jack before disconnecting. Pintal hitch might be easier for less experienced but adapting trailers could be difficult and expensive. Most trailers that size use ball hitch
not really much else one could do with a simple utiltity trailer hitch...doesn't get much simpler or effecient than this, just need a bit more training for new employees
Is the thumbnail a picture of another of your trucks that wrecked?
same truck but that was our original trailer that got destroyed when the canopy seperated from the trailer back in 2016.
If you dont have a piece of wire or a nail in your truck to take the place of that pin you cant say you are a farmer. 😅
that's for sure! My dad always got on me as a kid because he said every farmer should have a knife and a handky in his pocket...I never caried a handky.
They dont make them like they used to. Im talking about people.
