This week the Buckleys invite us into their chaos once again! Join James as he enlists the help of Clair to audition for new movie role.

You talking about being a dad is so great. I lost my dad 5 years ago (I was 30 and he was 55) and I really miss going for beers with him. You become best friends with your parents when you grow up and you realise that all they tried to do was their best. You both sound like great parents

So many good and funny bits but loved the bit that James said about parenting and also being a friend to your children, I totally agree that you have to be both, a parent and a friend. My son is nearly 16 and we still go to the gym together and I will be looking forward to him buying me a pint when he is 18!

I'm not a parent but I did study child attachment. I think you do have to have the balance of friend vs parent or your kids will struggle to come to you when they need you as they won't feel like they have that relationship with you and when that happens, those kids, or even young adults can get themselves into inescapable situations because they don't have the trust and friendship of a parent to help them through it. I think the people who say that 'you're not their friend, your their parent' are either of a different generation or simply don't want to put in the effort to form the bond with their children and it's sad. It's so nice to see that you want to do it both & express that you worry you aren't getting the balance right. If you're worrying, you're caring & it's something that is subconsciously within you and therefore you will practice it consciously. You both seem like fantastic parents and your boys are lucky to have you both 😊

Agree about you need to be parents but I have 3 kids and they definitely can come to me about anything I speak to them about things instead of putting my opinion on them I listen to them they are individuals they are amazing xx ❤️

I came across to your CZcams Chanel from your podcast a few months ago. The very first Vlog I watched was your “mr&mrs” vlog.. I thought to myself “oh well, maybe their just better at podcasts then they are CZcams videos.” I persevered and fell completely in love with your channel too & find it funny how the first Vlog I watched was the one you constantly rip throughout numerous of your videos. Me and my husband have been nothing but ill since covid. Constant colds and coughs, sore heads. At the moment we have whooping cough. Bloomin brilliant. Watching youz cheers me up.
My girls are 2 and 1 years old. I am there mummy and parent 24 7, but could not imagine them not being my absolute little besties. They are so funny and sweet and I love playing and being friends. That’s the joy. I 100 percent agree with James!

Couldn't agree more about the parenting. I have a two year old boy and I want him to enjoy spending time with me as a mate and a Dad. But as you highlighted, making sure he is happy and a good person is the most important thing.

Yay, the Wednesday blog! I'm not a physio, not medically trained... But I did have a C5/6 disc compression a few years back. I felt the pain when moving my neck but also in my shoulder. My Physio-applied Kinesiology tape and I had 12 weeks of physio. It's a long haul but physio is the only way forward... I'm also a Mum and the best friend of my grownup daughters. It's a real balancing act... I don't know how I did it, but it worked. My daughters are now professional women with excellent careers and amazing husbands who have given me four fantastic grandchildren.

Very much agree about parenting, it's a flaming tightrope! Also every kid is different and they change and grow every week, so that fine line to tread is ever changing. Kind of impossible really but we try 😅😅😂

Appreciate the lack of ads guys, and hope the whole family is feeling better now. I actually prefer the lack of any skill or professionalism on this channel, pretty refreshing, honestly.
Regarding the parenting convo, it is ideal to get a balance between being the parent and the friend, but both approaches are needed to have a healthy relationship with your kids, and to make sure they are healthy too. As a loyal subscriber, looking forward to see what 2024 holds in store for this little corner of CZcams.

I totally agree James!!! I am parent and best friend to my children. The result is three wonderful children with good manners, great personalities, sense of humour and well behaved. It’s all about balance!

I agree with all you said about being your KIDS Friends, and I think that having your child view you as a "PARENT" As I like the friendship I've built with my kids, I love being a Dad, and hope that my kids feel that way about me. My 1st born was 18 on 4th Feb this year, I was GUTTED as I have LOVED being a Dad and there whenever they want a cuddle etc. My youngest is 10, and is 11 later on this month. Now the Dadddd, Dadddy Huggy, cuddles and playing together, holding hands and swinging them in the air have all slowed right down. I do get hugs now, off my kids even at 18, They are my proudest achievement and my most treasured things. I think being a parent is the HARDEST THING, BUT THE BEST MOST REWARDING THING IN LIFE.
I even enjoyed the night feeds, bum changes, and long sleepless nights. As hard as it was, Id do it all over again if I could, or if I could carry them in a MAN-womb lol.
You do have to be serious as a parent, as they do need guidance and when naughty they get in trouble. Although I hate being the dad that shouts lol. which isn't that often lol
I have been blessed with really well behaved kids.
I took the positive out of COVID, as it let us spend so much time as a family with them at home. Thanks for your funny, uplifting VloGs

One of those kids once came home from primary school and said to me:
"They want parent helpers for the trip... but you've got to be *responsible*"
He said this in an apologetic way which informed me he didn't believe I would be up to the role of "parent-helper" for a single moment!
