Old Quebecoise architecture often follows French and specifically Norman forms. It seems like every village has a lovely stone church with a tin roof. The Montreal Hotel de Ville has a tall peaked roof like a French Chateau and beautiful stone walls.
By contrast, Ontario traditional architecture is mostly....awful. Canadian Gothic is quite nice, although it looks pretty much like American Carpenter Gothic. But where American vernacular domestic architecture follows a parade of styles from Colonial to Federalist to Greek Revival to Gothic to a variety of Victorian styles (Italianate to Queen Anne) to Craftsman to Deco and midcentury, it's hard to pin a Canadian building to any specific period. The pricey Annex in Toronto is vaguely Edwardian/slash/Craftsman but other than that the buildings seem to follow no aesthetic schemes or eras whatsoever.
Even a lot of contemporary Canadian design is just wretched--look at the horrific new homes on House Hunters or Love it or List it on HGTV. Why not put an arched single light window here and a few rectangular windows there, and maybe some random vertical panels here? In part that may be because while American contemporary houses harken back to earlier styles, if a country doesn't have any of those antecedents, there's no model to follow for guidance.
This commentary mostly applies to Ontario. I've never been out west.

Personally, I think Philippines is on top of the hard category just because it's an archipelago and each island can have different and unique characteristics. In a point system that is geoguesser, however, it is fairly easy to score since it's a small country and points are based off of the distance between guesses and the exact location.

You totally missed the context, a lot of the eastern and wester European states look the same, Serbia and Macedonia do look similar (I'm from Macedonia) even I'd struggle if I didn't know the Cyrillic alphabet and couldn't read the signs. The continent is small place me in a random village in France there's a possibility I'd think it's Switzerland or Belgium.

North Macedonia and Serbia were both part of the same country, Yugoslavia, not long ago. They have both been part of earlier empires, as well. They also border one another... so it makes sense that they can appear similar in terrain, architecture, and signage.

North Macedonia and Serbia are difficult because we used to be in Yugoslavia so all the infrastructure is the same. Plus the geography is pretty similar especially in the south of Serbia.
