The amount of fouls by the Checks in the third is immense. Yet nothing is called...

I suppose you don't have a clue about rules, neither you watchd the video; foul against Erat was called causing finnish defensive style to get its typical lucky one goal lead. Its Czechs by the way.

Sorry about the misspelling; a brain fart.
About the rules? Erm, 15 years of playing on a high level and now a listed and schooled referee... I think I have a pretty good knowledge of the rules. Every team should play to their strengths. Finlands strength is not going coast to coast with stretched lines against teams with more individual skill...

In the third at 9.15 the defender clearly covers the puck => should be 2min. A minute after that there's a clear interference against Selanne and a holding/hooking against Koivu. Moments later a cross check against the Finnish defender when racing towards the puck. Want me to continue?
And if you talk about defensive style you've clearly not seen the Czech Republic play in the last ten years. What do they do except defend and wait for a chance to counter attack? I haven't seen the puck possession stats of this game, but I doubt they favor the Czechs... Of course there is the chance that a team is defending by keeping the puck, and that's not far from what this team Finland does, but still... accusation of shutting down the game coming from a Czech is a bit thick.

Never accused you of something. Those referees clearly gave higher standards for fouls at that game, its nothing unusual. When we talk about the last 10 years, Czechs are mostly known for their technical style of game and yes they often play on breaks too but in that game it was Finnish team who did so. By the way what is playing on a high level in your opinion? like SM-liiga? doesnt matter if not, but still congratulations for playing.

why was Selanne playing with a face shield?

He had accident earlier in NHL. His jaw was infured and order to play he had to use face shield. He could not eat solid food for weeks and he lost a lot of weight.

Teemu Selänne was a totally useless player for Finnish team in Vancouver 2010 Olympic tournament, in everyway.
His playing was a simply disaster. Zero goals and points in whole tournament.
Niklas Hagman was best scorer of Finnish team in this tournament. Olli Jokinen was also the key player in this tournament and also bronze game. With his personal skills and 2 goals Olli made winning possible in bronze game. However, he did not got much credit about this from Finland team's coachs, not in this tournament and not other tournaments where he played well and was often the key player of the whole Finnish team.
The right place for Teemu Selänne in most games in this tournament should have been bench. Especially because his attitude and ability for defense playing was almost in a zero level. What a fuck he was doing in the ice during whole tournament ??? ! ! !
