- The eastern city of Bakhmut has become the most active and violent frontline in the Ukraine war. It is constantly pounded with both Russian and Ukrainian artillery, and infantry is fighting on the streets. Our reporters James André and Mayssa Awad spent six days inside Bakhmut. They followed Ukrainian soldiers fighting to hold the city and the last residents struggling to survive under constant shelling. This is their exclusive report.

A massive respect to France 24 for reporting the ground situation. Tired of hearing unconfirmed news, spread by skynews, DW, CNN etc.

I feel like "what are you doing in this sector, it is being shelled" is one of the most badass things you can hear and document as a journalist
The journalists aren't there to swagger. They're there out of a commitment to truth. Those are not mere words, they are living their belief system.

Huge respect to James André and Mayssa Awad and to France24 for their reporting here - this is the reality of this awful war. So much of the reporting is like we are seeing a sports match being played out with military and political pundits opining like its the World Cup or something, it's really grotesque. People are being ripped apart literally and figuratively and it shows absolutely no sign of stopping any time soon. Tragic.

I’m glad to see the Ukraine’s army not only had enough weapons and clothes but seems they’ve enough medicine, food, water, cigarettes, coffee, …. and the love from everyone. Wish they will victory soon.
Yeah, it's in front of a TV camera. And the survivors and residents of Soledar taken to the rear tell a different story. That the Ukrainian army is not supplied with food and they are massively robbing the apartments of residents who left and stayed. They break down doors, take away not only food, but everything valuable. They take it all from the front line to the rear in abandoned cars and send it home to their families.
In pure Ukrainian they say: Finally the Russians have come, and it's all over. Thanks to the Russian guys, we were happy to meet them.
Pal are you ok??? Enough guns? Youprobably eaten some mushrooms🤣🤣🤣
They will never have victory, Nazism cannot be victorious. War is existential question for Russia.
Ukraine makes itself The us and Nato's puppet as South Viet Nam Republic did before.
Ukraine should be a bridge between Russia to the west instead of bringing war to its nation and Ukrainian people.
If The US is in the position of Russia, the US surely do the same as what Russia has been doing now.
Smart and wise leadership, will bring peace and prosperity to the country, on the contrary, it will cause devastation and poverty as well as destruction to the country . And Other countries gain all benefits from the stupid war.
cigarettes😏
Whether the war will end, all depends on the US. If the US chooses to prolong the war, the Russian and the Ukrainian have to bear with it. The US and UK were cruel to tell the Ukrainian not to negotiate with the Russian.
The other stories made Bakmut seem like a tiny village, but we can see here it's a big city. It really shows just how devastating and destructive the fighting is. This invasion is so senseless and cruel.

Angelina's father doesn't understand ethnic groups. Just because Ukrainians, Belarusians and Russians belong to one ethnic group (Eastern Slavs), doesn't mean they are one country! Poles, Czechs, Slovaks are all Western Slavs - that doesn't make them one country. Norwegians, Swedes, Danes are all Northern Germanic, Spaniards, Italians, Portuguese are all Latin, Turks, Azerbaijanis, Kazachs are all Turkic etc. They all have their own cultures, nations and countries.
And even if they did decide to one day form a closer economic/strategic union together, it should be accomplished through a political process between democratically elected officials. Not a megalomaniac, Kleptocrat madman & his two dictator cronies in Chechnya and Belarus!
