Actually that type of spool is meant for thread to come off with spool standing up. The little long spools are meant for thread to come off the end so you put those on the peg laying down and using the small push cap. Most people don't realize thread is meant to come off spools differently. That is one of the first things i learned when I was in tailoring School.
Hope this i a useful tip. If anyone is interested in sewing it would be so beneficial and learn so much to do with sewing in tailoring School. Good luck

Apart from the focus off at times this was the best instruction I've seen. Thanks so much.

The 3 has a tension knob on top left that if your sewing something thick you can turn the knob and lessen up on the pressure. It brings the foot up just enough to give you a little more room. All the reviews i watched you are the only one that mentioned that

Super helpful. Thank you so much. Just got this machine yesterday. After sewing on my Singer for 60 years…this machine is a bit intimidating. 😊Your tutorial was a great assist to get me started. Owner instruction class from the store is not for another 2 weeks. Kind of excited to start experimenting. Appreciate your help. 👌

OMG found your video again. My daughter got a costume (bought at the last minute as this is when she told me she needed it!! Turns out it had buttons but no buttonholes. I haven't ever done one and found your video again. It saved me I was able to follow your instructions which were easy to follow, including how you marked the button marking line (another video I did just did the I Marking) and you included how you placed it including the warning that it jumped also scared me once it's finished...thanks to your video I was able to put buttonholes on the shirt. I know feel much more confident with them. THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH From Melbourne Australia

    EXCELLENT demo.
quick note - IDT refers to Integrated (not independent) Dual Transportation. This is one of the greatest features Pfaff has!! Thanks again for your awesome training.

Passport 2 has no thread cutter. The 3 has cutter that will pull top thread and bottom threads and cut both at same time and then you can just start sewing agin without touching anything you dont have to find thread you just put fabric under and go love it

Such a helpful video, thanks so much. I have been struggling with using my machine, am completely new to using one. There are so many ‘hidden’ points to be aware of that the manual doesn’t cover. You have restored my enthusiasm and confidence to use the machine again. Thanks again.

This is a great machine glad I found your video. The only thing I would suggest pfaff to change is moving the play button above the reverse button as I’ve gone to press the reverse button and accidentally pressed the button above which can be a bit dangerous. It’s made sewing a lot more fun I love the range of stitches it has.

Have watched many videos being new to sewing and having a Pfaff. This has been the most descriptive video thus far. The only thing I still do not understand and personally needed more guidance and understanding of is the blind hem demonstration. Just not understanding when you'd use and understanding what all the folds are for and what the end result would look like. Using material with distinct right side/wrong side would have helped me understand a bit more. Thank you very much for such a great instructional video.

I’m looking at the Passports 2.0 and 3.0 as my Pfaff 295-1 finally seized. I looked at machines tonight by Pfaff and Janone. Read the reviews and very positive for the most part. I sure loved this video by this lady. She’s very detailed on the usage of the Passport 3.0. Very clear explanations too. Awesome !!!

Bought my machine for retreats and sew days. Because it’s used sporadically I forgot the bobbins are a special size. Prewound bobbins must be sized correctly. Size 15 bobbins only. Perhaps this fact should be emphasized 🤪

Thanks! Note: when threading, you put thread under the "right thread guide" which is the small metal hook thing as part of the "thread guide" parts 22 in the diagram (p. 5 of manual).

WOW... I was looking for a video for someone else who has just purchased this machine.
I have been sewing with Pfaff for 45 years... And... I learned more than a few things about the Pfaff machines, and sewing tips and techniques.
I am currently on my 3rd Pfaff, the new Quilt Ambition 635 and am just learning how to use it. My previous machine was a Tiptronic 2040 and the one before that was the Ffaff 204...
I learned... The 3 hem folds was a new one for me. I knew about the regular hemming fold but including the edge of the fabrice was something I did not know about.
Loved seeing the new button sewing foot with built-in shank. I've been using round toothpicks and thin shishkabob sticks for this. WOW...
Thank you so much for this. Much appreciated. 😊🪡🧵👚👗🧥👖

Thank you for the video. I enjoyed it! I would like to ask why my machine does not cut the thread at the bottom. The thread on top is it off though. And when it does snip off the thread,it gives an allowance of 3cm, which means that it doesn’t snip off at the end of the stitch. All these happens when I use the snip thread button. Thank you very much for answering a really hope to get help!

I would sugggest that the bobbin cover stays in place when the plate screws are removed and replaced. You want to avoid losing them down the bobbin hole,.

You missed a step at the beginning when you were threading - from the spool it goes through the right thread guide THEN the left thread guide.

  • @petrameijer254

Just a question: according to the manual, when threading your needle, the manual actually threads through the little clip before threading it through the flange in the back. In the video, you go from the spool straight to the flange. Is there a reason you skip the little clip?

    • @l.baughman1445
      @l.baughman1445 Před 2 lety

The manual specifies it's supposed to go through the "right thread guide" - that little clip. I'm guessing that was an oversight
