As a retired Houston Firefighter, I really appreciate your added history of the importance of the Fire Department in your communities history. 🙋♀️💖🇨🇱 BTW…common mistake but the Correct terminology is FIREFIGHTER…Firemen work on the railroad 😉🥰
My grandfather was firefighter for the city of Detroit in the 30s and 40s. He drove the back end of a hook and ladder truck. He worked 24 hours on, 24 hours off.
Absolutely fantastic how they repurposed this old architectural gem without destroying it's original purpose or function.
Would make a great in town property for someone who likes to come into town for all the events.
Could definitely double as an air bnb or long term rental property as well. Beautifully done!
That is a very interesting and different place to live. You did a great job with the tour. I always enjoy your tours. You are easy to listen to and follow. I also like your theme song.
I can't tell you how much I love all of that brick, I love love love exposed brick in a brick building, there are some who would have just covered it, the conversion was very tastefully done.. I love it
I love Natchez. I have a distant cousin who was the mistress of a house called Goat Castle, where a scandal occurred. Now long gone.
It’s amazing idea to save old buildings like firehouses, creamery and libraries into homes!Love❤
What a treasure! Outstanding video Laine! 💕💕
Another fantastic video, thank you Kevin & Laine!
Thank you for the tour. I loved the cinematography as well as your historical knowledge, presentation and enthusiasm.💜💚💛
brick, wood and history. love it
Nice to see something a little more modest, but still steeped in history. Thanks, Laine and Kevin.
Love this! So beautiful!
Thanks Lane & Kevin for this excellent video.
This is gorgeous! And wow what a history!
Great history talk related to the local architecture.
How cool would make a great bed and breakfast!
A lovely 'town' house. I really like the ambience provided by the exposed brick and original wood. Very cozy. I'm tall and hate heights, so while that railing around the rooftop deck is the proper height for the period, I'd be nervous to be up there. Views are killer, though. So sad about that nightclub fire; sadly such things still happen today, where safety is not always the priority of organizers. It must have been like an oven inside, with the metal walls. :( But history reminds us of tragedies as well as triumphs. Thanks for sharing this special place. :)
I've always appreciated the location of this one- pretty little moment downtown 😂
Reminds me of the show "You Live In A What?" Wish that show was still airing!
I think I know how the Rythm Nightclub fire started. Looking at your video, frame at time 7:16, I noticed a fan near the ceiling in the front of the nightclub where the fire began. I am convinced that this fan had a universal electric motor with worn brushes that made sparks when the fan was running. Given the use of combustible insecticide sprayed on hanging Spanish moss near the fan, the sparks from the worn brushes on the universal motor may have ignited the insecticide and started the fire. I have a vivid childhood memory of sleeping in a bedroom shared with my two brothers. We had no air conditioning. We had a floor fan in the middle of the room with a universal motor in it. The brushes on that universal fan motor were worn and the fan motor made bright clearly visible sparks all night long. My older brothers finally persuaded my father to get rid of the fan. We decided we'd rather sweat than burn. In the case of the Rythm Nightclub, the combustible vapor concentration in the air near the fan may have increased to the flash point and the sparks from the worn brushes in the electric universal motor set the insecticide ablaze. This was a terrible tragedy. I sincerely hope nothing like this ever happens again. For more details go to byjus.com/physics/universal-motor/
One of my favorite of your videos: the history, the building, the firefighters....
Pretty neat! 🔥
So many possibilities! I agree a car or some motorcycles could be killer downstairs. Also, why do you need a man cave when you could have your own fire station!
We love this place and even stayed there in 2021 when it was a shosrt term rental for the Hank Jr concert for 4th of July. Lots of fun!
Wow there is a lot of potential there that I’d love to uncover!!!!
I LOVE your show!!! Thank you so much for taking us along on your travels!!
Thank you for the tour. I hope to bicycle to Natchez someday and tour your town.
I love this. What a grand idea. I have thought of purchasing an old church also.
I love it! The garage feeling of it is wonderful to me. Both my grandfathers were auto mechanics and had their own car repair garages. The square footage is more manageable than a giant mansion would be as well. This property is just really cool, and its history is worth preserving. Off-topic: As the carriage passed by, it appeared to me that the left rear wheel had lost its rubber tread, which had come off in one piece, fallen toward the inside and was rolling along with the carriage.
I just visited Natchez and toured the Rhythm Nightclub Fire Museum. Highly recommend to visit the museum and honor the lives lost that tragic night.
We tried. The owners denied us access, rudely
@@OurRestorationNation Maybe they thought you were trying to film inside the museum? The wife was away when I visited and the husband was emphatic with me that there were no pictures inside the museum, but other than that he was gracious.
very cool space
Glad you did this one! Awesome
It's really pretty would love it!❤

Loved the history lesson in this video!!!
Love your show and your talent! So glad you stayed independent of the ‘big box shows’.
Question: I didn’t notice any heating vents or room heaters. Did I miss them? How is it heated in winter? This would make a cool bed & breakfast!
Yes, there is for sure central heat and air

Thanks this is wonderful site.👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Awesome ❤
Wow! Love this!
What a fun conversation starter... where do you live? In A FIRE HOUSE!! how fun!!! But um... did I miss seeing the fire pole?!? The best part about a fire house?!?!
I know! I don’t know if it ever had one.
@OurRestorationNation oh that breaks my heart a little... but still BEAUTIFUL and at least it has the spiral stairs... outside. But I'll take it!
Cool building, but where's the fire pole? LOL
I miss you guysssss❤❤❤❤❤❤
You think they would give me a discount if I purchased this building and Kings Tavern 🤣🤣😂😂😂🤣❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Cool place Lane! Are there historical restrictions on what one can do to a building like this, or do as you like? Cheers Kirk
There will definitely be some restrictions on this one. This originally being a firehouse and not a home, I’m not sure what they’d be though.
Upstairs looks so big compared to the downstairs
What an Awesome Place - but I'm a little disappointed that there isn't a Fireman's Pole...
Here’s some fun firehouse trivia for you! This firehouse was built around 1840, and the fire pole wasn’t invented until 1870!
@@OurRestorationNation Wow, thank you - that's really interesting!
❤❤❤
Why didn't you take us on the roof??
There’s a couple videos from there but it needs some work before it can be safely trod.
SQUEEEEEEE omg the double doors are functional? GET OUT This place keeps getting better and better
The star with the cross in the center represents the belief that Judaism is fulfilled in Jesus Christ. This is called Messianic Judaism.
So beautiful. ✝️
