  • Kate Pierson's voice can cut through steel! The trio of Schneider, Pierson and Wilson is just magical. PINEAPLLE!
    Thanks for watching!

I agree with your view on the sound...the guitar definitely has a surfer vibe!

You could do a lot of their first 2 albums. A distinctive sound for certain. Hero worship, dirty back road, devil in my car all great. Love when Kate and cyndi harmonize

You're looking for the word to describe Ricky's style of playing - Surf. The Ventures' Wipeout comes to mind.

Kate sang on Candy with Iggy Pop. It's a nice song.

I saw them perform this at the Rivera Theater in Chicago when they toured the album, 1980 I think. I saw the last couple of songs on their first album tour in a bar ( I was underage and couldn’t get in until the end). Total strobe light on the stage for the this song, I’ll never forget it. 😁❤️

The B52s are definitely a happy band, they have a wonderful 50s/60s space age sort of sound, check out “Summer of Love” or “52 girls” The Foo Fighters did a great version of “Planet Claire” featuring Fred Schneider

Nick, the "sad" album from them is Bouncing off the Satellites after Rick's passing, that came out in 1986. Hearing that album is worth it.

Typical Girls by The Slits would be a good one. The first British female punk band, full of energy, intelligence and sarcasm! And Ari Up, their late lead singer, was a force of nature. 🙂

Hey Christopher Cross’s doppelganger. I fall on your channel a second time in some months. It must be a sign. Bad or good, who cares ? 🤣 It deserves a subscribe.

You should react to a Madness song, a fantastic and fun late 70’s, early 80’s UK pop band, huge in the UK. Try starting with Baggy Trousers or House of fun.

Nick, why do no reactors have a playlist of all the songs they do on Spotify or other service? Wouldn't that be a 'payback', even a small one, to the bands/singers? It would also be a great playlist :). Love the channel mate.

I'd love to see your response to the Dresden Dolls performing "Good Day ", in concert or hearing them play "Girl Anachronism ". You're going to want the lyrics right handy. Thanks, Nick.
