What a shitshow the UFC is turning into.
So, this has been happening already before saudi arabia. In a lot of ways actually the entire premise that american fighters dominate MMA was completely falsified by the ufc. There were far greater fighters in other countries at the time but the promotion told everyone the ufc had the best fighters in the world. The reason why they couldn't maintain that narrative is because there was access to other talent from within the usa and people were starting to call them out

The reason Shara can't fight in the states isn't because he is from that region, he is filming a movie in California right now with a work Visa. I highly recommend re-watching Shara Bullet vs Trocoli with the idea that the fight very well could be fixed. It makes Trocoli's actions make so much sense. When have you ever seen a fighter act that much like a heavy bag? Whenever Trocoli threw punches, they worked. And after they did, he immediately does nothing and lets Shara recover. Then lets Shara throw back for free. During the finishing sequence, Trocoli didn't even defend himself. He stood still taking shots until one finally put him down. If someone were to take a dive, it would look 100% exactly like that.
And then Dana glazes tf out of trocoli after the fight and says “we’ll take care of him too” as a built in excuse for why he’s about to get a fat paycheck after losing
Trocoli is just a fall guy. I don't think the fight was "fixed" not in a top-down manner, instead: Trocoli knows the UFC Really wants Sharabullet to win, so Trocoli plays the fight in such a way that he will always lose on points if it comes to it, and he doesn't try to get the KO. And there I do agree, Trocoli looked like he didn't want to win, he was brought in to lose to the UFC's next hype prospect.

An immediate point deduction for the first fence grab infraction is a relatively new bit of judging. It used to be a hard warning and a point on the 2nd infraction.
