You can place it against a wall even with the back going down! This was my concern too because my sofa is up against a table but I haven't had any issues.
I like it. It's not too soft but not too firm and it has half down half foam so sometimes feathers poke me but it's not often and a regular occurrence with down sofas

Yup! And yes I still like it. I will say I don't have kids or pets so the sofa doesn't get a lot of wear and tear.
