Ok, so it's time to own up. In our last video we exaggerated the title in relation to our Liberty Walk Lamborghini drift build. We also switched up our edit style. Some of you liked it, but a lot of you hated it. It didn't sit well with us, so we decided to make this video apologize....
It also got us thinking that maybe some of you guys have no idea who we really are, or what we really do outside these videos. From Drift Masters to the Adam LZ World Tour, JDM car builds to competitive drifting, how does Drift Games actually work behind the scenes.
To some of you who love crashes, burnouts and drifting, this might be boring, but maybe some of you might find it interesting...
As always, we don't have all the answers. But hope you enjoy the vid!

I personally don’t see an issue with a once in awhile clickbait titles. As a viewer I think all you guys are doing is great.

I agree 100%, Even LZ makes commercial style ad vlogs and as long as they are entertaining, like yours absolutely was, it's fine once in a while. You need sponsors to give us great content, cool builds, and backstage of the drift event vlogs. On top of that, the title was way less click baity than many popular channels, and they simply own them. How the hell can you reach new people if you don't change things up and catch their attention? Based on the quality of your videos, you should be at 500k by now, so stop crying to all the old fans who want to keep it the same, the boys deserve more views, and more subs. Keep up the great work Dave and stop apologizing for trying to grow your channel, not all videos will hit, but you need to try new shit.

Love the explanation really shows the scale of what's going on behind the scenes. And people need to realise CZcams won't push your video nowadays without a flashy thumbnail and title that's just the way it's gone, What you guys are doing right now is perfect.
I didn’t really mind the last video as a change of style and it’s always worth trying things, although I do agree with other people that I much prefer you guys when you’re at your most natural as it’s what makes you relatable to the car scene around Ireland, UK (where I am) and the rest of the world, because you’re lads just like us who are living every drift fans dream. Keep it coming with the awesome videos and keep being yourselves!

Generally I care. I hate click bait and I don't waste my time watching it. If I think the video is click bait and not worth my time I don't watch it to find out.

The last episode was actually entertaining. I think it's just the title people have issues with. I understand the need for clickbait, but something like "Got my Lambo stuck in a field" is still ridiculous, but accurate. As for Sonax, I'm glad they support you. They're got great products at a decent price. We sold loads of it at my previous place of work.
Keep doing what ye do, have it raw or all edited, it's all real and great to see 👍💪

i like the videos where you show the reality of modding cars. not everything just works theres issues that are unforseen (idle air control valve bolt stripping is a prime example) because its way more relatable. like yeah it may be a 2j swapped lambo and 95% of the viewers, no offense, cant afford to do that kind of swap on that kind of car. But everyone can relate to random things popping up and ruining what you thought would be a walk in the park. just like on the miata the miata is a low budget car and from the 30 seconds we see of it it seems like a lower budget build (not like its 40K worth of parts is what i mean) and a seal just was bad. i love seeing expensive builds and cheap builds just show the struggles at times too. it just makes it more relatable. i didnt think the acting was bad in the last video or anything. clickbaity yeah sure but what ever on that like you said other do it all the time. but the acting part i figured out within 5 seconds it was all a bit or a joke. like i didnt think you where being serious about drive through car washes being the best or anything like that. i know you guys are a bussiness and do yt as a side thing not the main thing.

Really good video, for me personally, the click bait stuff was starting to wear thin. I've been watching your videos for a while and I like the Vlog style/misery 🤣. I really like the content that Bandana is bringing too, so for me i would say keep going with the vlog style but chuck in some epic Bandana/Josh visuals from time to time.
Theres a lot of people that watch and probably dont comprehend how much work you guys do behind the scenes for events etc, the fact you guys can do the videos you do as well is pretty mental!

As a matter of fact, id argue that in your apologetic intro you also made some of the most original topical content of this modern age of cartubing: some actual insight into what it actually takes to do real motorsports. Social media of today is all about glossy paint jobs and potent motors and victories and attention. That basic look at your chart showed something that most social media creators are very reluctant to show: It doesnt come from nothing. And quite frankly, why not show this?
I do not care if the gamma is perfect, if the contrast is adjusted, if the lighting is perfect or whatever people do to make their videos look good. I do not care if theres perfect audio and excellent edits.
What im following for is a bunch of guys trying to make things work and the work alone.
And incidentally, this does a lot more for my confidence in the sponsors mentioned than whatever brand of shampoo was in the last video.
Great video, amazing to see the work that goes on behind the scenes and the pain that goes into cars. We all know that in some way or other.

I personally didn`t really minded the last video, sure it was a little bit different style, but i enjoyed it non the less. This one was a very honest and transparent video, and i think this is where your strength is, showing stuff as it is, i feel that the community you build up prefer this kind of content, with the multiple fails included, it shows the work you put in the projects, and its much more appreciated than just showing of the end results. I understand that in the end it is a business and you have to do what you have to do to make it work, and you trying to balance it so that everyone is happy in the end. I don`t say i don`t get it why some of us are upset about the clickbait thing, but we need to be more understandable about it. It was another thing thrown at the table, it didn`t really went as you guys planed it, in my opinion the level of apology wasn`t needed, but it is really appreciated, it showed us that thing aren`t as simple as it seems behind the screens. I hope this incident didn`t take away your spirit on continuing to experiment on things and to be yourselves, just continue the way you already started, we love you guys, and we will still be here no matter what❤

Lie back and think of Aston Martin -- The Clarkson Review: Mazda CX-30

It's been said by some that I should review affordable cars because, apparently, you, the reader, are more interested in learning about a car you can buy than a car you can't. I've heard this argument before and I'm not sure it stacks up.
Many years ago, on old Top Gear, the one hosted by Quentin Wilson and Tiffany Dell, I was asked to review the affordable Ford Orion. This would have meant talking for seven minutes about the fuel consumption and then using the Top Gear luggage to see how many suitcases would fit into the boot. And it all would have been jolly interesting for adenoidal people in jumpers who were interested in buying a medium-sized Ford saloon.
However, without permission, I decided instead to review the new Lamborghini Diablo. I therefore booked the luxurious Lucknam Park hotel near Bath to use as a backdrop and the nearby Castle Coombe racetrack to use as a location. For props, I got hold of a Miura and two Countachs, and for a soundtrack I brought along my collection of Bad Company albums.
I can still recall the editor's face when he saw what I'd done.
Horror didn't even begin to cover it. As he sat watching the wacky camera angles, which had been achieved by fixing newfangled Pulnix minicameras to poles, it was as though he were watching someone murder his dog.
He was used to presenters with beards talking about knee-room in the new Austin and, at the end of the show, a man in slacks urging the viewership to "drive safely". And all of a sudden he had Paul Rodgers on vocals, Simon Kirke on drums and four howling Lamborghini V12s providing the descant.
I was very pleased with the film. He wasn't. "I can't show this," he spluttered, explaining that no one could afford a Lamborghini Diablo, so why on earth should it ever appear on a Birmingham-based motoring-and-beard-review show? I tried to point out that Elton John could afford one, but this argument fell on deaf ears.
Eventually the sheer cost of the film I'd made meant it had to be transmitted, and, as the viewing figures crept up towards seven million- unprecedented for a magazine show on BBC2 - it became clear that this was exactly what the audience wanted. Noise and power and pounding rock'n'roll. Not slacks and beards and dreary reports about how spark plugs work.
It's the same story with restaurant reviews. Sure, our critic could go to a pub in Harpenden and sample the microwaved pie and the oven-ready chips and the frozen peas, because that's affordable. But wouldn't you rather read about a Ukrainian chef 's brilliant £300 truffle velouté? Or holidays. Do you want Center Parcs and Filey week in and week out, because that's all Johnny Normal can afford? Or do you want to sit there with your eggs and soldiers this morning, reading about white beaches and giant tortoises in the Seychelles? You may never go there, but it's nicer to dream than to be reminded you'll be getting another verruca this summer in the Hotel T'urd in St Ives.
I didn't get into motoring journalism to review Morrises and budget Citroëns. I got into it to write about alpine roads and Lamborghinis. In the same way that proper journalists don't become journalists to do flower shows and village fetes. They all want to be Woodward or Bernstein.

I feel drift games are sort of their own enemy of late, you set the bar so high for quality with Japan stuff we might realise that the high end and you can't do and we can't expect that sort of content all the time. Japan was some of the best I've ever seen on CZcams ever, and I watch Adam and the like, so lads first fairplay. and people will always complain, maybe it's a sign of Internet Times, it's easy for people to complain, almost like who can complain best, and people complain withoit much actual knowledge in what they're talking about. but yeah I love the ones with a bit less hype and you lads enjoying yourselves tgt having craic. I know you can be in some jazzy country all the time, but still love the content, and the scene, with out Mr Egan we'd not have the world's best in Ireland every year and man I appreciate that a lot, we used to have one famous driver, now we've a full grid of them and it's helped Irish lads like James Shanahans, dwayne etc, maybe us appreciative lads aren't as vocal as those who complain but we're here, quietly enjoying!

To the whole team. After being in the motor trade in ireland for 20 years i understand really well what you guys go thru on a daily basis. I've had the pleasure of meeting the whole team at Christmas as Dave opened the doors to my family and i as we were visiting from Vancouver canada. I attended the LZ world tour in Canada too and the job you guys achieve is not short of amazing. Its always fun to watch the videos from ireland too as i can relate and "see" home. Dave, never mind the haters they will always exist. The last video was such a laugh. Best of luck with the future. Can't wait to say hi again at one event or another!

ive fell in love with your channel over the last, i see absolutely no issue with how you guys are operating and i appreciate the content very much, im 33 and i have never paid for tv service, youtube is a awesome platform that allows me to "watch tv" for free. The ads are just a small part of it, it is a shame that people will watch there favorite show on tv and 25% of it is commercials but they dont boycott there tv service for it, im pretty sure you can pay for youtube red or whatever service they have to skip the ads if they are that annoyed by them. anyways my rant is over, love you guys bunches for the free entertainment and i will continue to watch every video
If it wasn’t for your clickbate, I wouldn’t have ever wandered into the world of drifting. Been that I competed at rallying for years, I’d no time for “boy racers” that blocked the roads between stages. So associated drifting with that scene. But I’ve been converted.enjoy the videos, I watch live drifting events, I think the top drifters are artists. And as somebody that had a small business, I can see where you’re coming from. Very hard to make money, if you’re doing good honest work. You just get taxed and vat-Ed to the hilt, the more you make. And for most people it is really only the love for it keeps you in it. Love the videos, keep up the hard work.

OK I've watched the first 12 mins of this video and although it was great to find out what your going to be getting up to this year and fantastic to know what I get to enjoy watching 👌I really don't feel that you have to explain yourself, I've watched drift games from day dot and absolutely loved watching the channel grow I've bought loads of murch/half my wardrobe lol and enjoyed every video, you guys are doing fantastic, sadly you will always get people that think they can do it better but welcome to the real world,,,, it's not easy lads, and it took me 10 years to build my car as a mechanic I still needed help to finish as,, SUPRISE we don't know it all guys anyway I'm ranting, basically don't take the comments to Heart and keep pushing forward boys I personally loved the last video, thought it was really funny and a nice change of filming 👍right back to video thanks for filling my evenings with great content drift games ♥️♥️

It's one thing making an engaging title.. It's totally another to say one thing in the title and the content not tresemble it at all.
Like getting a car a little dirty but saying you destroyed it and showing it on a fork-lift..
People tend to not care about a bombastic title so long as it actually resembles the content.. No one likes feeling like they are being tricked into watching something.
It's a hard thing to do successfully. But IMO it's V worth avoiding actual click-bait.. It just causes more hassle than it's worth.
Naming video's and creating thumbnails could almost be a full time job and not an easy one.
Overall your content is top notch.
Get the titles and thumbnails to the standard you have for your events and more produced videos and people will click on it.
Many of the largest youtubers have struggled with this.. Mr Beast, LTT, Cleetus etc etc etc.. They all tried a phase of more-click-bait titles and it always back-fires.
Worth looking into some of their views (again, IMO) on how to come up with clickable titles without resorting to click-bait.
Would it be worth adding Vlog / Feature tag in your titling system so people can click on what they enjoy watching more?
The whole audience retention and engagement thing hits back hard in the algorythm for how much your video gets suggested to people.
So by having fewer people click on a video but actually watch the whole thing and like/comment/sub is better than millions clicking on it, skipping about a bit and then leaving.
Also, I've heard more than a few youtubers say that if you de-mystify "The algorythm" in your mind to become "What people are engaging with", it becomes much easier to analyze whats working and what isn't. The main message is usually if your interested in and passionate about what you are doing, people will watch, almost regardless of the title.

Every other automotive youtuber uses clickbait titles and has ads in their videos. That's just the nature of the game. But your last video was different, for me, at least.
I learned a lot about the proper way to auto detail my car and the steps professionals take to do so.
I appreciate videos like that. You guys made it fun by getting the Lambo dirty and stuck in the field. Then, I learned helpful info that I can use personally on my vehicles.

People will have to accept that not every video will be what they want. Ive watched every video lately and they continue to get better. I will say that i did like the break down of everything in this video. Ill also add that seeing a video like this makes things a whole lot more relatable for a lot of people. Really appreciate this outlook on content, i love seeing roadmaps on game developement, and other youtube content as well. Shows us that you have a lot planned for the future and we are here for the ride. The last video's click baiting wasnt the thing rhat bothered me entirely as much as that whole video was an infomercial, and as a creator i get it. Get that bag, but the more natural you are the better content comes across, and the more engaging it comes across to me. Like shed tours and stuff, or these behind the scenes/dyno videos regardless of success/fail because it shows that this ISN'T staged. It shows us that you are like one of us, making relatable engaging content like you talked about in the first half.

Click games there your new branding 🤣 one of the best channels out there quality is top stuff all the edits are great, content is top stuff very entertaining and thats why we watch and support. Absolutely game changers in many regards. You give back to fans you put on unreal displays at shows with what you bring, people forget or dont know how far you moved the drift scene and without you guys we might not have what we do currently. Brings alot to Ireland and you bring alot to Europe too eg dmec
