Love all the recipes for Fermented February. Thank you for Hosting this collaboration.
a
You're right. I don't know why we stopped fermenting the yard babe's feed. Thanks for the kick in the bloomers. I needed it.😊
It was Josh and Carolyn who got us doing it to begin with. Homesteading Family is an amazing channel.
I don't have any chickens now I want to as soon as I can convince my husband to build a coop. I'm saving your video for future use. Thanks for sharing.
When I get chickens.....totally!
Loved Fermented February '23
I started fermenting chicken food last month and they have started producing eggs again. They LOVE it!
Thank you to Fermented Homestead and Hoss Tools for sponsoring Fermented February 2023.🐓🦆🥚🥚🥚
Thank you to all that participated in this fermented February. I've learned so much from this collaboration
Thanks for putting on February’s collaboration. I’ve had chickens for years didn’t even know you could ferment feed until I started investigating fermenting foods.
We ferment our chicken feed, but our system is not as slick - and considering our temps at the moment (well below 0F outside, in the low 40s in the coop - where we keep the in use bucket), we might need to reassess. Thanks for the info, Anna! I think this will really help up our egg production.
I didn't know you could ferment feed for chickens, learn something new every day! thanks for everything you do, I learned a lot!!!
Thanks for Fermented February. It's been a learning process. It's been great! I don't have chickens at this point but I'll keep this in mind for the future.!!! 😃
Thank you Anna. I don't have any birds yet but saved this for future reference. Thanks again for this collaboration. Thanks to all who participated.
Thanks for remembering our animals.
Thank you for hosting this collaboration! I have enjoyed it immensely and learned a lot.
Thanks for the amazing collaboration! I didn’t win anything but the knowledge I gained is invaluable 😊
This was a great collaboration. Tried new recipes. Found new, great channels and people. TY Anna! Someday, when I have chickens, this will be useful also. 🤗
' HOLD THEM HOSTAGE '
lol..
You slay me .. thank you for making me laugh and ponder the possibilities!
Thank you so much for this collaboration this month. I just started two ferments this morning, blackberries and a sourdough starter. I have watched all the videos and rewatched several of them. I have learned so much and found so many new (@least new to me) resources. Thank you again for sharing with us all!
We are planning on getting some chickens in the spring. Thanks for sharing fermenting the feed. Healthy, happy chickens and saving money win win.
Never thought of doing this for my girls! Thank you for all of Fermented February!
❤ Thank you for a Fantastically Fabulous Fermented February
This was the best on fermented feed, I understood everything that you said. You have a great way of explaining some of the fancy or Technical terms to fermenting. Which is very helpful to some of us older generations. Thank you for this Collab, I learned so much and got to meet so many people who ferment for different reasons and situations. Like on a farm in a home....looking forward to you next project.
thank you and hoss for fermented february and the channels that posted videos!!!
This is awesome! I'm definitely going to give it a try. You make a very good point about why you would want them to lay all their eggs in a shorter span of time. On homesteads and small farms, efficiency is key. Thank you for the great information.
I am so thankful that I found your channel. All of the videos were so full of amazing information and easy to follow instructions. My gut thanks all of you.
Although our HOA doesn't allow chickens, it is nice to see that this is an option for those who can and do raise them! Thank you for sharing
Thank you all for Fermented February, it's been great!. I love sprouting and growing fodor for my girls.. I know they will love fermented grains. Yaaa February 2023.
Thanks for hosting this collaboration
Thanks for the informative reminder of the benefits to soaking/fermenting chicken feed grains. 🐓🐣🐓I used to ferment then stopped when life got busy. This was extra motivating to start up again, thanks 🤗🤩🤗
Thank you Anna. I enjoy all of your videos, they are educational, informative and sometimes hysterical. The explanations you make are much easier for me to understand than the information I have read. I can't wait for more videos and next years collaboration
I really enjoyed this month of fermenting. Thanks to all. I learned a lot.
Great bit of knowledge. Would not help me. Live in an apartment and don’t think my landlord will let me get chickens. Thanks for hosting fermented February. I have learned a lot.
Thanks so much for hosting this collaboration. It has been great fun and I have learned a ton!
Thank you, you taught this city girl something new about feeding poultry. Thank you everyone who shared this month during Fremented February!❤
This was the best fermented February ever (although I said that last year and will say it next year too lol). I really enjoyed this video. I want to do this when I get chickens.
The fermented February song!! I love it!!
Me too! I had to include it when I saw it!
I have done this and my birds love it!! I do it in a gallon jar in the house because i don’t need a huge amount and can control the temperature. Thanks for all the fermenting videos and information. It’s really been informative and fun!!
Fermented February was so much fun this year. Not gonna try absolutely everything but it sure made a difference in the things I am making. Thank You!
Awesome! One more way to holistic health for the whole homestead! Thank you! Blessings on your day Kiddo!🥰🌻🐛💕
I'm glad you talked about the pellets being fermented. That's what we feed out chickens. I will definitely be fermenting them from now on.
I don’t have chickens or ducks but I have seen several homesteaders use tormented feed😊,thank you for sharing 😊
I don't have room for chickens (yet) but I will definitely keep this info for when I do have chickens. Wonderful information. 😀
Thank you so much for this collaboration! I love it! ❤️ I'm so doing this for my girls!
My grandparents used to ferment food for their pigs and chickens. Glad to see people still doing it!
It’s the best!
Very interesting, thank you for an informative video and this collaboration!
#fermentedfebruary2023
Then distill the fluid and you have moonshine.
I am going to be doing this with our horse feed.
Sweet feed, cornmeal, SUGAR add freshman's bread yeast cook off liquid then give Dead yeast to animal with left over grains
You do awesome videos
All of your collaborators are wonderful! Thank you for this collaboration. I don't have any chickens or ducks but found this very interesting. Keep up the good work. Thank you!!!! Thanks also to Hoss Tools.
Thank you for coordinating this educational healthy collaboration. As I have said this has been a semester on fermentation with some expert instructors. I don't have animals yet, but the information is good to share.
Thank you for the information on fermenting chicken feed
I have enjoyed participating in this Collaboration. 😊 It has been full of wonderful nutrition information with how-to. ❣️
I love fermenting. My chickens love fermented foods
Yay!
Super timely, I just started fermenting my grains again this week! So how much brine water do you put back into the buckets and when?
Very helpful to know about soaked vs fermented- the Homesteading Family video said 24 hours is fine (maybe in summer) so it's good to have more information/knowledge about that.
I loved the fermented February 2023 collaboration!! Thank you and all the participants. Going to watch the 2022 next!
Thanks a lot Anna for this informative video we’re planning on getting chickens this spring! hopefully our neighbors who have been raising chickens for a few years now,Might learn a thing or two
Although it may take a little more time, it just make so much since to do this!
Right?!
I like to ferment my chicken feed in winter too, the ladies love it!
This is exactly what I needed! I have a backyard more then legal flock🤫😁and The feed cost is just plan stupid how high it has gotten 😩 I like how you explained in detail the process. Thanks so much and have a blessed day
🤫🫣🤭
Very interesting. I don’t have chickens but if I did I think this would be a good option.
Thank you for hosting Fermented February. It has been fun. I learned a lot. I made some of the things, and I want to do more.
Wow Anna~ This was so very interesting! I don't have any Chickens and hoping to get some this spring! I will for sure keep this info and do this! It was an Amazing Fermented February and I have totally jumped on the bandwagon and have numerous Ferments going! As well as some sprouting going on. This Collab was an inspiration for me! Thank you so much for putting this all together!
That’s so exciting!
This absolutely blows my mind. Talk about coming full circle. Thank you for your video.
Thank you for explaining why you ferment animal feed. 🕊️💚☘️🇮🇪
Any time!
great video explaining it all.this is another old time practice as well.
enjoy fermented feb. can't wait until next year
Same here!
I was so sad Fermented February was over and then I found this video and realized I missed one! So many of the videos in this collaboration were for things I have had on my to-make list for a long time, including this one! I can't wait to give this a try since the cost of feed has gone up so quickly. Thanks!!
Anna, great tutorial on making fermented feed for chickens and ducks. I personally can’t have birds where I live but I did share your video with my niece and sister-in-law. They both raise chickens with the help of their kids and grandchildren. The grandchildren even sell the eggs to locals who want fresh eggs. I love the farm fresh eggs over store bought. Plus as a bonus the kiddos are learning a business which they both love doing. Thank you so much.❤
Geez… now you got me thinking about fermenting our feed too 😊 ❤❤❤
I guess now I HAVE to get some chickens. 😂 Thanks for sharing another idea that we're unlikely to find anywhere else!
Ok, I have to share this with my Sister from another Mister, because I don't think her life will be complete without knowing how to keep her chickens Gut Gremlins happy.
Thank you for sharing your findings, through your research with us. We most certainly appreciate you for it. Many Blessings 😁❤️
Never thought about that for my girls. Good to know. Thank you for Fermented February.
I love that you ferment your chicken feed! I ferment all the scratch grains and just put little tubs of the ferments + the liquid out for my chickens and meat rabbits. All of mine actually love picking their food out of the juice! Although, I feed it to them in those salad containers so it's not terribly deep (repurposing plastic instead of adding waste!). One of my hens in particular goes CRAZY for the bubbly fermented juice! My rabbits also love it, both the fermented grains + the juice - and since the grains are fermented, they're good for the rabbits to eat (where as too many grains will literally cause huge poop blockages and huger gas pockets in their large intestines where it eventually ruptures without proper nutrition). When I had quail, they also loved fermented grains, which made them softer so the quail could eat them with no problem.
If you feed your chickens beans, too, it's a good idea to soak them prior to cooking (for at least 1 day changing the water every 4 hours), then cook the beans, THEN add them to the chicken feed to be fermented.
I also want to point out that as long as the water doesn't freeze, the foods will still ferment - but it will take up to 4x longer for it to do so.
I have so enjoyed learning everything this month in the collaboration. Thank you ❤️
Thank you for another awesome fermented February! You had awesome participators! I learned so much! I don’t have chickens and live in the suburbs but when my dream comes true, I will revisit this concept!
This has been such a fun month of learning! Thank you for hosting! My family has been quite amused by my little fermenting lab I've got going on.😁
I do not have laying hens, but maybe someday I’ll be able to and I’ll definitely try this! I really loved the Fermented February 2023 collaboration. Thank you all for the knowledge, recipes, and the love you put into making your videos!!
Fermented February was amazing and fun this year. It opened my eyes and taught me so much…all the things that can be fermented…mind blowing. Thank you for hosting it again. 👏
This has been a wonderful month of fermenting videos. Thank you so much for everything you do.
Thank you! This has been a wonderful Fermented February!
Never thought about animals needling the benefits of fermentation.
Thank you for this month of fermentation! I feel more confident and ready to ferment many of the wonderful collaborations from this month!!
I have watched all of this collaboration’s videos and commented to each. I have learned so much. Thank you for putting this series together.
WOW!!!!!!!!!💖
Thank you Anna!
I would have never thought to ferment chicken food! It does make a lot of sense.
I never knew we could ferment chicken feed - wow!
We've started fermenting our 🐥🐔 chicken's food a few weeks ago and still trying to get the amount correct 🙂 They love it and it is saving some money. Thank you for sharing how you Ferment your Chicken's feed and helping me confirm that I'm doing it correctly 😂 God Bless You 🙏
🥰
Thank you for sharing! I have learned so much about fermenting and what can be fermented! We had chickens growing up, but Daddy didn't ferment the feed, and he tried different things. Mama didn't ferment our food either. So much to learn!
I’ve absolutely loved this collaboration of Fermented February and have learned so much invaluable information! It has encouraged me to begin my fermenting journey and explore that new experience. Thank you so much to everyone who has been a part of it!
I have learned so much this Fermented February! Loved that song! So many new and great contributors this February! I am adding this chicken feed one to my notebook for when I finally get a homestead and chickens! Just seems like common sense for our animals to have the same healthy benefits from fermentation as we do!
I have really enjoyed all of these videos Thank you for getting these together. I have learned so much. Thank you all for this.🥰🥰
Thank you for the awesome collaboration:) listening to the fermented Feb song 😆 in the video. I have to watch the 2022 version to keep learning:)😊👍
This month has been so much fun. I have learned a lot. Thank you. ♥️♥️♥️
Me too!!
Thanks to all l the great collaborators. Seen a couple of other ferments on chicken feed but not with the why. Great information.
I have enjoyed Fermented February so much! Thanks for putting this together.
When I first saw your notification (I didn't have glasses on) I thought it said chicken FEET not feed, lololol! I considered why or how then clicked on the video & was relieved!
I love that you added her song into your video! I don't have livestock, though I wish I had chickens. I need to check the rules for my city. Thanks, Anna, for an awesome Fermented February! Many Blessings from Deborah in West Virginia!
You’ll love having some backyard animals!
I will pass this along to those I know that raise chickens! Thank you
So nice of you 🥰
Thanks for taking the time to teach us about fermentation.
I've heard this before and why in the world I haven't done it yet with my birds, I'll never know. I know it's better for them. I know it cuts back on the cost of feed. Goodness! I need to get with it!!! 😂 But for real in all seriousness. Thank you so much for giving me the push I needed AND thank you sooooo much!!!!! for this incredible collaboration! I have learned so much and have so many new recipes to try.
I have seen this done on other you tube videos but not as detailed. Good video!!!
Thanks for the info.... Cute song!
This is great Anna!! Thank you for giving us all of this knowledge and for arranging a really informative and entertaining Fermented February 23!
💕~Cheryl~💕
