  • We were asked to engrave a handwritten recipe onto a cutting board. We used lightburn to edit a picture of the recipe and add the requested flowers. Used offset fill with 2000 mm/m and 70% power. Ran into an issue with the ortur getting a Shock and Movement detected! error. Fixed that by changing the threshold in the console. Could not be happier with how this one turned out.

Great video. FYI if you just hit the "." button it will rotate your image 90 degrees. if you hold "control"+"." it will rotate 15 deg at a time and if you hold "shift"+"." it will rotate 45 deg at a time. Just saw you use the rotate function up top so I figured I would share.

Can you let me know if this can engrave coconut shells, I sell coconut bowls and would love to engrave to personalize. Will it give a deep engraving on hard material, like coconut shell ?

After a few washings does the engraving lighten up on the board?

I am sure it would. We went back and filled one with CA glue to make sure it stayed black.

Great video, just wondering what program you are using for editing. Thanks

Gimp and lightburn are what we use for almost any of the editing.

For the not so computer smart, It would be helpful to explain the very things you were doing and HOW to do them, taking out the scribbles, the marks, moving the word milk to another location. You flew through that initial stuff it wasnt helpful at all. The video is basically assuming all others are as proficient at the program as you are. But Ill keep hacking away at it. Thanks.

Sorry about that. I will try and explain it better as we continue.

Sorry guys like your content and have a project very similar. I haven’t done one yet and am new to light burn however. You are not explaining AT ALL what you are clicking to make the changes you’ve not even doing them slow enough for me to figure out what you’re clicking.
I’m sure you’ve gone over this before but if I read the title it states clearly “How to..” yet you do not explain how to you just quickly run through what you’re doing and give zero information on how.
This video was very disappointing to me.
