How to add Carberry to Romraider and ECUFlash

Awesome to see more rom raider vids! Unfortunately the community is moving away from romraider to AP from what I observe. If you can, would love to see a video for MAF scaling and timing editing
I think it really depends on where they are looking for their info but can't deny how easy an AP is. Part of the reason I started making these videos was hopefully to make it a little easier for others so it's not overwhelming to newcomers.
Oh how so many have just changed their minds in April.

If this is open source why hasn't anyone simply made SD and MAF tuning an option you can choose vs rearranging all the defs?
@@kornshadow097 you can choose it in the rom itself but if you want all your other tables such as Open Loop Fueling Target and Total Ignition Timing to switch between Load and MAP then definitions need to be switched.
@@kornshadow097 If you use Ecuflash defs don't need to be altered and it just depends on the rom you want to start with, MAF or SD. For Romraider you just have to switch which order they are in in def manager but all defs can be sitting in the def manager folder.
in ECUflash, any idea how to turn off fuel cutoff? been trying to figure that out to crackle without tapping the throttle

Overrun fueling. You'll most likely need to source these definitions on romraider as they aren't standard defs

do you think that there is a way to add carberry to a N/A ecu, trying to add some flames to my 05 impreza 2.5rs and ive put alot of negative timing and added fuel but still nothing but pops after a hour of driving until i saw a couple then that was it for the next 30 minutes. thank you
Nope, but 05 impreza could have dimemod patch added. Search dimemod on Google and you'll find a Russian subaru page with all the instructions and explanation once you Google translate. I use it on my 2005 fxt to have Flex fuel and rolling launch control.

How i can take the metric definitions, that it shows bar and not psi?
Use the metric definitions.
Can't seem to connect to my ECU via ECU Flash. Romraider Logger connects thought. Do 16bit tuned 2002 WRXs have anything special to get it to even read with ECU flash?
Nothing special but it can help if you choose the vehicle type in ecuflash.

@@JoelMotaPhoto try pressing the wires in on the backside of the obd2 port while trying to connect. On these 20 year old Subaru's I've had to get my hands and sometimes my body into wierd places to get the connection.
@@tunedbyjinjer having same problems 02 wrx have the correct car selected on ecu flash green test connector and flash block connected. Can’t read the stock rom or do a test write but can log and read codes on logger . It will start then stop and say check log Amy ideas?

having trouble adding the carberry 1.8 to logger it gives an error saying the system cannot find the file specified ? any answers...
You need the carberry logger def and it needs to be pointed to in rr logger.

It would probably be easier to grab a solid base map and tune it yourself pretty quickly. The map 1/map 2 difference wouldn't be needed if just going for the switch to Carberry. I'll be making videos soon showing how to do just this.
@@tunedbyjinjer My goal, for now, is to switch to Carberry rom with the safest base map for my bugeye wrx. Because Carberry has map switching feature, I want one map for a daily, and the second just for fun. But I am just starting to learn, so videos like yours is a blessing for me. It is not easy to find substantive information. For now, I am just analyzing the differences between certain maps to learn something about them. I can't wait to watch your next video.
I just don't see the point of map switching like that if it will still be using the same fuel. Otherwise things like boost control can be tuned completely by throttle position.
@@tunedbyjinjer I agree. But also my wife sometimes is driving the Subaru, so she doesn't want any bangs, pops etc. And for my peace of mind I want more subtle map for her trips 😀

For 32bit ecu custom rom options you'll have to look into merpmod or dimemod
