The most depressing stuff about this kind of music is that it reminds me of Chester. That being said, his wife said that before his final days it seemed like nothing was wrong at all. The only glimpse we saw into his mind was his music, and it was all deeply filled with negative emotions. I hope oli is ok

This song is the story of my life...
I once read an article describing that this band, Bring Me the Horizon, is all about addressing the dark aspects of reality through music. I just got into their music this month. I wish I had sooner. I've loved almost every song I've heard from them. But this one in particular feels like they've just poured the years of mentally fighting and battling myself all into a single song. I almost want to cry tears of joy right now because for once it feels like somebody finally fucking gets it.
Like someone finally understands what it's like to just fight oneself every single hour of the day, fighting one's own memories that try to hold them down with every turn. And it's so suffocating because the world just expects you to either wallow in that pain or push through it. But what I'd really want is a solution to deal with it...assuming one even exists.
I'm right there with you. BMTH has gotten me through every stage of my life and I hope you stick around long enough for them to do the same to you. Welcome to the fam!

If y'all wondering, Oli wrote this song for his past, vising his pasts demons and his dark moments in life. HE made a whole album track by track thing and he explained it there, so you guys don't worry. He's better now, and i hope he keeps getting better

Well, he also posted something on Instagram about how writing this record brought him to a really dark place, and while it's plausible that he meant remembering his past, I know from experience that often just dipping into that pool of emotions can suck you back in. So I'm still worried.
Just because someone says they're fine doesn't mean it's true this song is a concern because anyone who knows the feelings he describes also knows the weight it leaves behind for many years even when you think you're fine
Mentioning some of those resurface due to lockdown, hence why it's so relevant to many people. That song is an ultimate anthem for those who know the amount of suffering an overthinking and overly ambitious mind brings upon a person. Best wishes for fellow INFJs, I know it can be hard sometimes.
Like, seriously, they almost overdid themselves with this track, it hit me like a truck in October and it keeps hitting me to this day

I wanted to reply nearly the exact same. Well, without the edgy last sentence.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate the actual video as well here? You can just feel the lyrics on screen getting more and more uncomfortable to read, heavier stuttering and slowly being covered up the further you get into the video. It fits so well with what this song is about, I can just feel the discomfort through and through. And what a beautifully fitting style as always.....
