I got the Greenworks 40-volt 20" mower a month or so ago and I absolutely love it. I can't believe I waited to long. I paid just over $600 for the mower, blower/vac and 13" trimmer, plus an extra charger and two 6ah batteries (non-Greenworks brand). The mower came with a 5ah battery. My property is not as large as yours but I can edge, trim, mow and blow front and back on just the 5ah battery and still have 2 bars left. While my front and back yards aren't as big as yours, it's still about a 90-minute job in total. The point is, I am super impressed with the Greenworks line of tools. I bought the 2000psi pressure washer last fall and it works great as well. There are plenty of other cordless lawn tool brands out there, but I don't think you can go wrong with Greenworks, which makes them a great value as well.

It's odd that the UK and, presumably, all European versions of the Greenworks mower is rather different. My one is 46cm, which equates to 18.1 inches. It too has 2 x 4Ah batteries with a brushless motor. The UK model is self-propelled and, important to me, has a metal, not plastic deck with excellent build quality. It seems to be very powerful, with lots of torque and is very difficult to bog down. The blade motor can sense when it's under heavy load and notably increases power. Battery life for me isn't an issue, although it does suffer more in cold weather and damp grass is always a battery drain and to be avoided. I have had the mower for three years, and haven't noticed any battery degradation as yet.
My lawnmower gets used for unconventional things as well, such as a quick way to chop up and clear up hedge trimmings (one of the reasons that metal deck helps).
Unlike the US model it does not take two sets of batteries. I also have a 24V hedge trimmer, 48V chainsaw (which, for battery power, is excellent) and a 48V line trimmer, also excellent. All use the same 24V batteries, which is a big cost saver of course. You are really buying into a system, not just a lawnmower when you do it this way.
Previously I had a B&D cordless mower, but this one is much, much better. But then again, it is an expensive way to go. However, for me, cordless every time.

I've just gotten the green works leaf blower with two 24v batteries and love it ... really considering getting the mower... I'm a 66 yr old lady and was wondering if it would be to heavy for me.
I have a medium size lawn.

I think the best answer I can provide is that this mower is extremely comparable to a gas-powered contemporary sans the gas-motor. It's about the same size deck, same weight, and same noise levels- just no need to worry about maintenance. Hope that helps.

does it need both batteries to run ?

I just bought a house and wanted an electric mower, so I ordered this one a few min ago. It was on sale for $259 for one day only and nothing in my research came close to that price for those specs. I'll have to see how much of my 1/4 acre lawn the 2x24v batteries cuts for me...

I think you'll be just fine! As noted in the video, I run mine on 'turbo' mode exclusively and also bag my clippings which means a lot of starting/stopping which is taxing on the batteries. If you massage those two variables, I'm sure you could get through 1/4 acre just fine. Let me know how you like it! I still LOVE mine!
