Hi, my name is Jen I am 44 and live in Connecticut with my husband and 8 year old son. I am a stay-at-home Mom and full-time CZcamsr with a degree in business with a focus in marketing. Before leaving work when my son was born, I was a commercial lender at a bank. I also worked at Sephora and Macy's doing visual merchandising.
I have dry skin with some hyperpigmentation and fine lines. I love natural makeup looks but occasionally go outside my comfort zone a little bit. 🌸🌸Some more quick notes on wear: 🌸🌸
1. I wore the UD foundation again this morning over my regular moisturizer. It definitely looked more dry, so I think the added Vanicream helped it to look better yesterday. If you have dry skin you have to moisturize REALLY well, otherwise it's not the best.
2. The Kissu Lip Mask reminds me a bit of the Nars Soft Matte lip balms...it has a soft, non-glossy finish that's not particularly emollient or hydrating, but not dry either. It's comfortable!
3. I'm so bummed about the MUFE Face Palette! It definitely feels more greasy than the original cream palette they had. Not sure why they changed the formula but it's not worth $88 IMO.

I love the idea of this palette but I def don't like the price & then #1 for me is formula, one that's not gonna fade, so again, not very promising! 😢
Hi Jen, thanks for the video! I'm amazed by how similar the eye shadow colors are in those palettes. And from your review, performance is similar although not identical. I wouldn't buy these because I don't wear most of the colors in the palette, but for those who do, sounds like the Alter Ego version would be great.
And I'm so excited that Vanicream has a sunscreen out!!! Thank you so much for reviewing it. I'm going to try it. I also love the Vanicream brand and use several of their products: the cleanser, the cream, and the lotion. The Vanicream shampoo is good if you're looking for a drugstore priced fragrance free product (although I wasn't crazy about it.) But the conditioner is great!
As far as I can tell, the The Kissu Lip Tint doesn't have flavor or fragrance - yay! - so I may try it although it's a little pricey. However, as you pointed out, there aren't many lip products out there with SPF. Usually what I do is apply my Paula's Choice Lipscreen SPF 50 and then put lipstick over it. That's not ideal, but it's better than no sunscreen on my lips.
I'm so disappointed that the Urban Decay foundation has alcohol as the 4th ingredient! Also, that MUFE palette is just awfully expensive - gotta agree with you there - and every shade has fragrance in it. Yuck. I wouldn't dare put it on my skin; I've had eczema breakouts from just 1 application of a scented product on my face. I guess it might be a good product for someone who travels a lot.

@HongiiiHong the lower line was alter ego. If you look to the top & bottom of her arm she always puts the palettes in the background so you can tell which swatches are which palette. Hope that helps! 😊

The Alter Ego palettes continue to impress me. It definitely looks smoother than the ND here to me.
Thanks! I love Vanicream sunscreen and it’s one of the few mineral sunscreens I’ve used that isn’t drying. It has done well with every foundation I ever tried and never balls up. I’m surprised no one ever talks about it.
Vanicream is wonderful for people with very sensitive skin. Many CZcamsrs claim to have “sensitive skin”, but they use and try hundreds of products seemingly without issue. Vanicream, Almay, Clinique and Tower 28 are true sensitive skin brands. Physicians Formula was…. until they started adding that awful coconut scent to their face products. I still love their liquid eyeliner.
I'm so glad you're reviewing the Alter Ego Wildwood! I've had my finger on the purchase button for days and I wanted to make sure it was good. The swatches look identical and your eyes too- sold!
I think the subtle change of tones for the alter ego palette makes a world of difference in my opinion. I like the color story even more! 😮

Omg I thought I was the only one that couldn’t blend Natasha’s eyeshadows. I had one of the small 5 or 6 shade palettes and I gave it away! Never bought another Natasha denona palette. I don’t love them!

I’ve been using the face bond foundation almost every day, and I’ve never smelled alcohol from it. Maybe you need to shake it up Jen? Mine doesn’t smell like alcohol whatsoever. I would recommend using primer with this but not a super mattifying primer. It’s a lovely foundation but it does dry down super matte and super quickly so I’m using a stanzout sponge to apply quickly and then dabbing with a damn sponge to smooth it out and pick up excess. I wish, like with most brands, they had more cool/pink shades, but other than that - I love it!
The foundation looks very nice. It is natural looking.

Denatured alcohol is a no for me too. I was so sad when I found out one of my favorite foundations contained DA. I love the Urban Decay Hydromaniac foundation though. DA free and long wear. Another great video Jen!

Not sure if you've tried this, but I prefer stiff brushes with creams, even cream to powder. I prefer a sigma pencil brush and then maybe a blender for the edges. Hope it helps make it easier 😊
I always use a stiff brush with creams...my favorite is the Profusion buffing brush. It's what I normally use in videos but the only reason I didn't today is because I wanted to try the new Sigma brushes.

Im a huge fan of the Vanicream face moisturizer....its one of my holy grails! I use it at night time and i love it because its very hydrating but lightweight and you dont need a lot...it just glides over my skin. Im going to give the sunscreen a try! Thank you Jen 😊❤

We love this Vanicream SPF! And Vanicream in general, as you said. Its pretty dewy so we opt for it more in the summer. So underrated!

I love Vanicream's facial moisturizer and this SPF is my favorite. I'm allergic to chemical sunscreen filters and this product has been a godsend! It's so hydrating and smoothing.

I got the MUFE Skin Hydra Glow Foundation and some Sephora brand small palettes on the sale. I have dry, mature skin so I'm excited to try the new foundation - I've heard really good things on this one and I know you liked it as well. Other than that I'm pretty much set on makeup for a bit! Love your videos!
I wasn’t going to get Wildwood because I bought the Sydney Grace singles for the do but now I’m so tempted you looked absolutely stunning Jen when you finished your make up today, so I hope putting a powdered blush over the lock or sprain with a setting spray fix plus might lock it in. I too have dry skin normal to dry if I moisturize real good I can use the L’Oreal dropper foundation that you don’t like so much. Have a blessed day.

The Vanicream is one of my favorite SPF/moisturizers. Love the texture and how it works with other products, there are times I can skip additional moisturizer.
Can’t wait to try the Tatcha lip tints! I adore their lipsticks but those got discontinued. Seems like the gorgeous packaging is somewhat similar, though. I only wish they came out with some cooler toned light shades. Still super tempting! Thanks so much for your always amazing reviews, Jen! ❤️

This Alter Ego palette looks so good! I love the side-by-side comparisons. I’m currently trying the new Eucerin tinted sunscreen for ages 50+. It’s a little greasy but I am still working with it.
I reviewed the Eucerin one over the summer and I loved it at first because it was so hydrating but when I brought it on vacation with me during the summer, it kept making all of my foundation melt off. It was too greasy, haha! I can only wear it by itself now because it's a makeup melter. 😅

- Alterego: the palette looks super pretty. I was hesitant about Yucca, I like greens, but I felt it was too much and at USD69, it was too much risk, lol. But with this one, I'll probably get it at some point. ❤

Wow, the Alter Ego eyeshadow palette dupe to the ND Yucca eyeshadow palette looks identical to the Natasha Denona Yuccu palette! I’ve only tried one eyeshadow palette from Alter Ego but I’m going to look on their website to see if anything speaks to me.
I have the new Urban Decay bond foundation. I have normal to dry skin. I’ve been using my holy grail primers and moisturizer and it wears really well on me. I haven’t felt like it looks dry or cakey. Also, I have noticed that I’m not having to powder throughout the day.

I saw the eclipse on Monday at Jean Drapeau Park, very crowded there and the moment when the total eclipse took place was so stunning. Took some very nice captures. Also, I use to be a fan of glitter before 2020, and for some reason I don't put it as much right now.

Hi jen oh good i have natasha denona The yucca palette and to be truthful i have never used it ! i know slapped wrists ! its beautiful and i really want to use it ! but i think its my clothes i like to match , but yes i agree with you your bronzer and blusher has faded but a touch of powder may slow down the process or use powder products but very pretty non the less , regards liz xx
This is a ND palette I didn’t pick up because it’s a color story I knew I wouldn’t wear often. It’s a great option to have the Alter Ego to try.

I know I felt the same way...I was internally cringing as I was applying it but I was already committed at that point, haha! At least I felt like I had an extra layer of moisturizer as a buffer. 😅

I’d love to learn more about Vani cream. I’ve never heard you mention that before I too have dry skin. can I use the tub of it on my face? I didn’t get anything from the Sephora sale because I already got some thing from Indy brand. I got the strawberry moon palette from Ensley Reign cosmetics.
Hi Jen! I have been watching you for years and LOVE your content. I have been meaning to ask if you ever used Moria’s “lasting priming cream shadow” 03 rose sand is the shade I use. We are very similar in our coloring and this color reminds me of Mac painterly. Moria’s is more affordable and works better IMO. Look forward to more of your videos.
OHHHH that makeup forever pallet is coming to me! My eyeballs 👀 popped. I do foresee the pallet getting very smudged. I don’t care. The options with that are too good!!

The new UD foundation sounds like my beloved, discontinued UD Naked Foundation (the original). I loved how it completely disappeared and yet still covered! Might have to check this one out!
It feels similar to the Naked foundation but it's a bit drier with the alcohol in it. :)
