I'm a 45 year smoker and also recently discovered nicotine pouches. I use the strongest 8 mg type and I use at least 10 per day plus still smoke so I am taking in around 100 mg per day. The truth is that I have never felt better in my entire life than I do now. I feel a general sense of wellbeing 24/7. The additional nicotine from the pouches have a much more significant effect than smoking alone. I have never felt like I do now just based upon smoking alone. As for the blood pressure - went to the Dr for regular checkup the other day. My blood pressure was just 112/76. He was very impressed and had never heard of these pouches before. Unfortunately because of smoking getting a bad rap, the general public is completely mislead about the benefits of nicotine. It is a poison in most people's minds. There had to be a good reason why Native Americans used it and now I know why. It is one of those gifts from nature in the plants around us.
I would suggest getting of the ciggs, and going fully on the pouches? You can find stronger ones online if you need that... have you found coffee to help with replacing some of the cigg use?
Pouches or patches? The transdermal ones where you put on your skin? I've got 21 mg ones that you can wear 24/7 and I've adhd so I'm gonna try see if it helps. I don't smoke quite as much ad the dosage
The blood pressure thing is interesting, I can attest to it anecdotally. I’m athletic and train in jiu jitsu and kickboxing often, my blood pressure is at times 130/70, which isn’t so bad, but when I use nicotine I’ve seen it go as low as 119/58! Maybe that’s just a stress relief aspect of it. I’m interested in seeing more data about that.
I have "long Haul" Covid. I have been sick for 3 years. My first piece of gum 2 mg (which is nothing) and I started dreaming again, Im up doing things.. my life is returning.
Absolutely fascinating. I chew 24 nicotine gums a day! Have done for over ten years. That's 168 gums per week. 720 per month. 8,760 annually. I am aproaching 120,000 consumed in total. I use it as a stimulate like coffee and as an appetite suppressant. It helps me cope with mild depression. My main concern is it will accelerate atherosclerosis...
@@RaqibZaman I have adhd and use both, life quality has been much better for me since I've started having a cup of coffee in the morning + two 4mg nicotine lozenges daily
@@amifunnymynameisbob Haha, I also go hard on the nicotine lozenges, and try to make sure to only use them while studying. It's much more effective than coffee for my ADD symptoms, and I agree that coffee pairs well with nicotine. Just trying to moderate my use, which is a little hard. The vasoconstriction it causes isn't healthy though.
Have you considered using a patch, gum, or nicotine pouches? Then you would get the benefits of the nicotine without the drawbacks of smoking. I’m so sorry that you’re depressed. Does anyone know if there is a detox die off from nicotine use - especially for new to nicotine users? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
In my experience nicotine patches can be extremely helpful as a stimulant medication at ADHD. It can give you a clear mind, it helps you focus amazingly, and treats the depression and anxiety that comes with ADHD. So it’s a real miracle treatment in my opinion. You just have to find your dose, because if the dose is too low, it won’t work, and if it’s too high, it won’t work either. So you must take your time and find the best dose for you, which can be differ individually in my opinion.
I have a positive personal anecdote on that. I’ve struggled with ADHD and anxiety my whole life, and even dropped out of school despite testing highly. I’m an author and artist, but I’ve had severe trouble focusing and getting work done. But when I smoke or chew the gum when working? Man, it really helps. I’ve tested it many times over.
What about the affect nicotine has on blood glucose levels? I’m concerned that using lozenges will cause my blood sugar to spike, and continuous use will increase my risk of type 2 diabetes.
I would like to offer myself as a test subject for a scientific study as I am the only person I know who cannot effectively start a smoking habit even though I have the ability to fully enjoy and appreciate a good, fresh cigarette rolled with quality organic tobacco. They claim nicotine is one of the most highly addictive substances know to man and yet it hold no sway over me.
That’s really interesting! I would like to see people explore some of the anomalies brain chemistry. I found my mood underwent positive change with small doses of nicotine - whereas with antidepressants I just felt completely numb
I also have IBD.High dose vitamin D3 helps along with vitamin K2. It has powerful anti inflammatory properties. You have to take 20+ thousand IU's daily. I started off with 50.000iu along with 300iu K2 daily for 2 weeks then cut down to 30.000 for 200iu K2 for another 2 weeks then went down to 20.000iu D3 200iu K2 Daily as a maintenance dose. Never felt better! A good Bcomplex is good along with extra benfotiamine B1 start low with the Benfotiamine, they come in 150mg capsules usually, take half a capsule daily for a week or 2 then increase to a full capsule, then repeat untill you've found the dose that helps you,you can eventually take up to 600mg daily.
It may help! One way in which it might is by stimulating a peptide hormone called Melanocyte Stimulating Hormone (MSH), which is produced in the pituitary/hypothalamic regions. MSH has a large number of regulating functions in the body, and one of them is gut permeability (a deficiency in MSH results in leaky gut, which results in dysbiosis, IBS, and so on). There are studies showing a strong relation between MSH and IBD. It turns out that nicotine is a potent stimulant of MSH in the brain, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's beneficial in patients with an abnormal digestive problems, particularly when the underlying cause is a deficiency in MSH. We've been able to test this hypothesis in a patient population with something called Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS).

Another thing is nicotine makes your body break down caffeine faster.
@@richardrussell4065 The study I know of mentioned that for smokers, I don't know if that's true for nicotine alone.

You can ingest nicotine through non-smoking methods. Smoke is bad. Look into gum or pouch.
The nicotine won't hurt u but the additional 400+ chemicals they put in cig. will kill u.
People sadly don't want to hear it because they asssociate nicotine with smoking. There are other methods of delivery...
Dr. Ardis is doing great work on this!
I have never smoked but after hearing Tucker Carlson talk about the positives of nicotine i started chewing nicotine gum.

Coffee is probably healthier in the long run because one of its metabolites is a vasodilator.

Interesting,. It s been 6 months since ur last comment, how do u feel?
Nicotine seems to raise my heart rate and make me dehydrated. Seems to be the only downside I can think of

Actually it is said to increase insulin sensitivity. So it should be beneficial for blood sugar levels.

Are nicotine pouches the same as patches? (where it's absorbed through one's skin/transdermal)
Patches are used on the skin & the pouches are used in the mouth.

Probably the negative connotation with the word itself. Flexibility, people. Drugs aren’t “good” and “bad”. They are compounds.

It's not the nicotine itself that becomes so highly addictive but it's the chemical cocktail big tobacco companies use in them.
