that’s odd to me that the guy driving the moving truck with air brakes doesn’t need a cdl . i’ve seen box trucks with the hydraulic type brakes were you don’t need it . Maybe it’s a ohio law that you don’t need it

You don’t need a cdl to use air brakes are are supposed to have the air brake endorsement but it doesn’t really matter unless you get pulled over
In the md a my box truck is non cdl 2019 hino 268 with air brakes, as long as the truck is under 26000 you good
Aslong as the gvw is under 26k your fine with air brakes as far as I know air brake endorsement is abolished. Anything over 26k gvw is cdl. That’s what a lot of people don’t get you see these 1 ton dumps pulling big skid steers like t770 that’s pretty dam close to class a cdl weight. Dot around here makes a killing because of landscapers doing stuff like that

Don't you have to have a CDL to drive a truck with "air Brakes"! as the trucks I drove had "Air Brakes" and I had to get a CDL!
