  • Shapez.io Puzzle DLC - remember this game? It's a puzzle game now. I used to be sponsored by this game, as the main game is the purest factory optimization game ever made. Now, it's pure optimization puzzles, and I couldn't be happier.

    As soon as I saw the whole "This Game Is Open Source" thing in the bottom left corner of the intro I got real happy before realizing you need to pay to access the full game. My inner open source is saddened by this

    • @richardpike8748
      @richardpike8748 Před 2 lety +3

      Yeah, sadly "open source" does not exactly equal "free". I feel the pain.
      Though, if you're tech savvy enough, I suppose you can just go to their open-source Github and build their latest stable release or whatever yourself, and then you'd have it for free... but of course, that's a lot of knowledge and hassle that some people may either not know how to do or not care enough to do to get around paying for the game on steam anyway. It's kinda a trade-off.
      (Plus, open-source games can often garner community-provided improvements to the game-- if you look at credits in the Shapez.io update notes, he credits several other users for finding/fixing bugs or implementing feature ideas and stuff, so his dev work is lightened.)
