Good Works Tractors is happy to be sponsored by Rim Guard Solutions! This is perhaps the most well-known ballast brand on the market today. Rim Guard goes right inside your tires, so it's out of the way, it doesn't freeze, and doesn't corrode. It's made from natural materials, so it's safe around livestock and pets if it spills out. #summithydraulics #3rdfunction #rearremote
Great video with LOTS of useful information.
Simplistic explanation too!
Really enjoyed the video. Glad you returned to the informative videos , which is your true bread and butter. Looking forward to your installation video.
Great job explaining the differences😁 can’t wait to see the install video. Have a good one and thanks for the video.🚜💨🍳
Great video Courtney! I bought my 3rd function from Summit and it was a very easy install. The only part that slowed me down was I had my dealer install a rear remote when I bought my tractor and they used the port on the hydraulic manifold that the instructions told me to use; but the instructions show that if that port is in use you can use another. The issue I had was the fitting on the manifold block had a different fitting so I had to buy one for only a few bucks. I also added a switch and fuse so I could shut everything off when not in use. All in all it is an awesome kit!
I ordered my 2025R with the front third function. It was actually 2 kits. One for the tractor side and for the loader side. I think the dealer worked on it for 2 days and I took it back another day so they could do it correctly.
Had I known I would have ordered every rear hydraulic option available.
would love to see one of these install videos for the 3E series. I see Summit has a kit for that now, not sure I'm ready to dive into that yet.
This video was right on time for me. I’m looking at adding a grapple on my Mahindra. But I will need a third function valve 1st. Can’t wait to see the actual install. I’m going to reach out to summit and speak with them about this project
Thanks
In Australia most manufacturers other a 3rd function kit as a option with a 4 in 1 bucket, John Deere includes it standard on 2r, 3r, 4m and 4r. Most will do a special throughout the year where they will include the 3rd function and 4 in 1 bucket free
I wish I would have had more external lighting AND rear hydraulics
Going to do the Summit kit for my new L2501 with the 3rd function with 2 rear spools for rear top link and something else
I bought one of these kits late this last fall, haven’t hooked it up yet tho! Waiting for the weather to improve! Hope it works well.
Informative video Courtney! Something else you might mention is that the true third function is either on or off when pushing the joystick buttons. You can't "feather" the third function like you can with the raise/lower or curl/dump functions. A diverter, on the other hand, can feather the grapple as you are essentially using the curl/dump spool on the loader valve just sending the oil to a different set of couplers. It would be possible to install a flow control on the third function directional valve stackup, but the flow would not be variable "on the fly."
I don’t 😊😊q😊😊q

Just talking about doing this on my BX23S 👍
I added rear remote and a third function from summit hydraulics on my kioti ck 25 works great
Just added a diverted to my 2022 1025r not hard at all. But if you have a factory cab on it you will need to buy 2 extra 90s to avoid the cab.
I hear the name Summit and I think of Summit Racing automotive store!
Great information on the hydraulic kits. Gears are turning….
1st!!! I have a JD (3038e), not a Kubota, but this was still interesting because I want to add this (eventually) and get a hydraulic grapple, whenever I get the money. Love your videos, Courtney!
My L4060 has Kubota hydrualics, front QA remote with 3rd function plus 3 rear remotes. Installed the 3rd function/QA remote myself, let the dealer install the rears so it's warranted. What I would like is a kit for my B2410, all I have is the rear remote part Kubota make and plugged the hoses into each other when not using the log splitter. There are no remotes made for the B2410.
Most smaller tractors with loaders sold in Australia with a loader come with a 4 in 1 bucket and a third function connection. It’s pretty rare to see a new compact or sub compact tractor selling without this equipment.
Awesome stuff there I have a 1992 1720 ford compact tractor, had a woods loader put on it , do y’all sale a kit to fit the loader for grapple Thanks👍👍🇺🇸
i spent around 3500 and a course of a month plus the hydro box leaked all the time (i think i fixed it, there was gunk in two of the threads from the manufacturing process) but i was able to use my grapple to clean up after the hurricane all by myself... made a brush pile 25'x12'x10'
You should do a video on all your attachments, people would like to see this, sells will skyrocket after you do this...😚
On our new Grand L, We just had the tractor added with the OEM third function and 3 rear OEM connections. We justed added it to our financing plan of a true 84 months 0% interest plan. We had a large down payment. However, if we get to the point that we need more than three rear remotes, we will definitely get the multiplier option. We are just using one now for a hydraulic top link, which is great.
I own a B2650 and wanted to use my 3 function that was installed on the front of tractor to operate a hydraulic top link occasionally on the rear of my tractor.I just want to extend the hoses to the rear. Will this work for my occasional use? Looking for help.
At what level of hydraulic flow do you need for some of these implements? It seems like many of the smaller tractors may not have enough flow to make implements practical.
Hey my 2022 John Deere 2025r axle broke rear it’s all full warranty you ever hear of this before and what would cause this
3rd function and diverter are different.
3rd function adds a circuit for the forward hydraulics.
Diverter splits an existing circuit for the forward hydraulics.
Technically you're adding a 3rd function you just can't operate at the same time, maybe 3rd function by diverter would be a better phrase to use
I got the summit hydraulic 3rd function kit for my 1025r and when I was was installing it I had an issue with the Quick Attach fittings that came with the kit. They would not fit in the factory couplers for the loader even though the instructions said they were the same as factory fittings. I ended up getting then to work but I had multiple leaks and was unable to detach them after the fact. So I removed the whole kit and just went back to my factory set up. Now I have a 600 dollar kit sitting in a box that I can't use
You have to work in your more power grunt! Think more Tim “the tool man” Taylor
In my opinion the manufactures have really missed the boat on this particular option. Allot of people would be willing to pay a bit extra for this function. Summit Tractors I believe will force the other companies to start adding this feature, as they have standardized it with their product. I guess we will have to see how it plays out. It is a great function and very valuable in nature for anyone that uses their tractor for any number of various uses.
Should come standard in point of fact. As should the liquid tire weighting system. John Deere is ready to put the literal boot to the neck to these clowns if they don't as well. Pure BEV is en route so owners once converted to that straight up never go back. Don't even get me started on pure BEV pickup trucks let alone 4 Wheelers.
Still I'd take a Unimog over any of this ongoing garbage that's been getting pushed out literally *FOREVER* now here in the USA.
So not interested until Tesla enter and then Ford et al suddenly decide to stop going bankrupt.
I was recently looking at buying a new compact tractor. The local John Deere and Kubota Dealers gave quotes for a set of rear remotes & front loader 3rd function kit. Both these tractors were a platform models Kubota LX3310 & Deere 2038. These two Dealer installed options added almost $5,000.00 to the cost of the tractor. Why so much?
I’ve been wondering could a guy take a multiple spool valve with say four levers just replace the joystick controller and have multiple functions?
Yes, a lot of older machinery was made this way.
Do they make these valves with a float position?
I can’t get that hydraulic kit I have a Massey Ferguson
You can use the universal third function kit. I have one on my MF 1755M. Works great.
Don't forget to mount it wires down!
Better resale value with it.
I wish they had kits designed for Massey Ferguson. I'd be okay installing a kit designed for my tractor, but adapting the generic kit to my tractor seems a bit beyond my skill level.
Seeing you use channel lock pliers on hydraulic fittings, makes me sad 😭
no don't advertise for uline, they are my competitor lol
