    Hi, I’m from Hong Kong 🇭🇰, and I just stumbled upon this video. Even I didn’t know about the past history of rail in Hong Kong. Great information and it’s entertaining, please make more videos of these kinds in different cities.

      Are you referring to West Kowloon and Hung Hom station?

      @@hiddenhongkong but the monorail was stopped in its tracks in favour of a smelly bus service to cut costs
      I Hope the northern line is built in a form of that monorail colored in the livery of Lai Chi Kok Amusement Park to remind the new generation of that park

    Third error you didn’t mention: When the WRL appeared, tai wai became an interchange station with no line so it is confusing

    Errors:
    0:28 Only the KCR British Section (Kowloon - Lo Wu) opened in October 1910, and the Chinese section (Sham Chun - Canton) opened in October 1911.
    0:56 On December 1911, only part of the Sha Tau Kok branch line opened from Fanling to Shek Chung Au, and the line extended to Sha Tau Kok in April 1912, completing the branch line.
    1:08 Sheung Shui opened on May 1930, not 1913.
    1:15 The permanent Kowloon terminus opened in March 1916.
    2:45 The Wo Hop Shek Branch line opened in October 1949.
    4:40 In Phase 2 of the MIS, Jordan and TST opened on 16 December, Waterloo opened on 22 December, and Argyle opened on 31 December.
    5:30 Chater, Waterloo, and Argyle were not renamed until the opening of the Island Line, May 1985.
    5:49 Only part of the TWL (Chater - Argyle) was opened on April 1982. Also, on May 10, 1982, the section on the TWL between Tsuen Wan and Argyle opened, and Lai Wan - Sham Shui Po stations were not opened until May 17, 1982.

    When was Whampoa Docks station removed?

      In November 1937, the Whampoa docks at Hung Hom were connected to the KCR. The line was abandoned following the transfer of the depot to Ho Tung Lau in 1968.

      Mostly residences of wealthy people like British colonial officers who wanted to escape Hong Kong summer heat by going up into the mountains
