We’re back! Welcome to our first Honest Government Ad of Season 3, which - so long as humanity doesn’t annihilate itself faster than expected - should run until 2025. So buckle up, it's going to be a wild ride. And to kick us off, I wanted to keep our promise to our friends in the US to cover shitfuckery on their side of the world. (I was also planning an HGA for all our UK friends, but then sentient-ham Boris Johnson got booted out, so I decided to hold off. We'll get there!). As mentioned, I hope to make more international HGAs in Season 3. And don't worry Aussies, the Australien Government ads will be back soon and always be the focus of this series.

I’ve had so many people writing to me saying, ‘have you checked out Pixel’s stream?’ so I did and when I realized she lives in our same town (Melbourne), I reached out to see if she’d be up for doing a cameo. So here we are. Huge props and respect to Pix for her awesome performance and for being a fearless badass by coming on the Juice Media to help us rip into the shitshow that is the US Supreme Court.
As I'm sure you've heard SCOTUS made some hefty rulings in June. But that's just the entrée: on the docket for the next term (which starts in October) there’s some massive shitfuckery on the way as the Court has agreed to hear the case of Moore v Harper, which will rule on the theory of Independent State Legislature.
If you've never heard of Independent State Legislature Theory, don't worry - most people haven't. That's why I'm dedicating this HGA to this topic.
Truth be told, I'm still super pissed at SCOTUS for stealing the 2000 election for Bush - a decision that altered the course of history especially on climate policy. Which might explain why I care about this so much. Coz if SCOTUS embraces the doctrine of Independent State Legislature in 2023 (and there's good chances at least 4 Justices will), it could well determine the outcome of the 2024 presidential election, too. And as mentioned at the start, I would really like humanity to last to the end of Season 3.

UK voters need to understand the tactical approach if they want the Tories out.
UK's first past the post system requires people to vote for one party only, per electorate, which is the most likely to beat a Tory, which means:
- Even if you are a barnacle Labour voter in a certain electrorate, you must vote Lib Dem and vice versa, plus a few greenies in some others also. Just vote for the most likely candidate to beat the Tory, (party aside). Otherwise - you will get the Tories...
I tried in vain to get some people to vote Labour in one electorate, (they were the only party that could beat the tories in that one...), yet the voters I know still voted Lib Dem? (So they pretty much handed that one to the Tories and they hate the Tories...????) People are pig ignorant!
OR, rather than rely on voters getting organised - Lib Dem, Labour and Greens need to collaborate and pull canidates out of certain electorates leaving the one party that can oust a Tory... (if it is allowed?)

Of course it's true. The United States isn't and never was a "democracy ". It wasn't supposed to be and wasn't designed as such. The constitution was designed by rich white slave owning planters so that wealthy landowners would always hold the balance of power, or the whip hand, if you pardon the expression. Hence the "Electoral College" farce and the "Supreme Court" which ultimately rules, or is the final line of legal defector the country's owners. The power these days extends to wealthy corporations of course, and wealth isn't totally land based as in the 1780s, but the same principle applies.
When you think it can't get any worse...you realise this is just the beginning.

As a Christian, I gotta say this stuff is messed up. The stuff going on in the US Supreme Court, that is. I think a lot of people assume that all "religious" people hold these same views, but this couldn't be further from the truth. Creating a system which undermines the democratic (that is, popular vote) by such a significant margin seems wrong, irrespective of your 'moral compass', beliefs, or values.
I think far too often people associate American Republican values with "Christian" values without considering what true Christian values are. Jesus was anti-establishment, yes. But he was also anti-violence; and therefore would probably be anti-guns. Jesus showed compassion, and placed a high priority on social outcasts and minorities; therefore he would probably value compassionate refugee and social welfare policies. He would value inclusion of diverse gender identities, ethnicities, and cultures. That's just to name a few. Put simply, Republican values does not equal Christian/"religious" values.
The fact that the Republican party has stuffed the Supreme Court full of conservative and/or "religious" "Justices" who overturn well-established precedents seriously frustrates me. This should not be allowed to happen in a 'model democratic' society.

During my education in the USA I learned about the 3 equal powers of government and about famous justices like John Jay, Oliver Wendell Holmes and Earl Warren, who kept the country progressing during history, and upheld the Bill of Rights. 0:37 The ruling removed the power from the federal government where it didn't exist and restored it back to the people of the states.
0:40 There is no indoctrination going on here. The court restricted the state from infringing on the protected first amendment rights of the man involved.
0:43 The ruling in Bruen removed the state restrictions on the individual right to carry arms for defence that the state had been infringing upon for 103 years.
0:47 The ruling in West Virginia restricted the undelegated power of the EPA. Environment is also not a power delegated to the federal government.
1:14 The states always had the power to choose their own electors. This is by design. Most states enable the people to choose.
