That is the idea. I didn't want it to sound like "every other beginning band piece." Be sure to check out Mechanical Monsters, Tadpoles (uploading later today) and Winter Winds (also uploading later today). I plan to write 3-4 more beginning band works this year. They are FUN to write because they are so challenging to create and make interesting!

I’m in seventh grade but our sixth grade band is playing it but our director is having us play it with them because they don’t have any percussion and looking at our other three songs compared to this, this is a piece of cake. Our band played it very well on our first run through of it which was the first we had all seen it so we were all sight reading it.

I’m so happy I could find this so easily. My choir songs I can’t find anywhere! I play the shaker(maracas) in this song and it’s great to listen to it so I know when the brass and woodwinds play! Also it’s amazing because if everyone in my section is absent on competition day, I can easily play their parts too!

My band class played this at a mass band concert with band classes from at least 6 different schools and out of the hundreds of people in it, only me and two other people played the baritone saxophone. And neither of them even took it seriously. We played 3 songs and the whole time they collectively played 10 notes. Whenever i looked over at them neither even had the mouth piece in their mouth. They were probably forced to do band and had no interest in it. Also during the time we had to practice most the kids there were just talking to each other. I know a lot of people were forced to do band because in my area nobody appreciates band its all about sports. I was the only one in my class that liked band which is really sad. And now who knows if im gonna be able to because our band teacher quit because the school wasnt gonna pay her for doing high school band because only ONE person in our ENTIRE school signed up to do band next year. I hope they find a replacement because band is my favorite class and the reason i love school.

I was in orchestra at my old school, i was a violinist at the time but then i moved to a new school and they didn't have strings but they had band (beginning) so i decided to do percussion, and a few weeks later i got so used to percussion to the point i always dibs to play the cymbals, and we are doing this song at a concert next month, and i know that percussion and most definitely cymbals is gonna eat this song up, especially percussion finally having the spotlight too 😭

I’m playing this for my 1st (technically 5th, but this is my first one for my current grade) concert, and it sounds so good, yet it’s so tough, I mean, 144 BPM is hard to tongue, especially on a Bb (B flat) Clarinet.
