      I saw the last 4 shows of that tour in North America and his vocals were great. Even on song remains the same! I had bootlegs of nagoya Japan and Osaka second leg of the tour and black dog sounded like studio recording in 70’s! Good memories 😁

      @djh1010 Před 4 lety +12

      Yeah his latter 70’s approach, while still a great entertainer, his voice was blown. You’d think switching to the pop style of the 80’s would have been easier on him, but he played with different vocal styles and approaches. You’re right, the 90’s are when he finally settled in with what he still does now, but it gave him back a lot of that vocal ammo when he needed it, just didn’t use it all the time. He also started taking better care of his voice in the 90’s.

      @@djh1010 his voice in 77 and 79 was actually very good . It was the latter part of 72 73 and 75 when his voice was really blown . He was actually able to hit some pretty crazy high notes in 77 79 and 80 where he could not in 73 and 75 but in the latter 70s he hit the high notes very sparingly to save his voice . There is version or over the hills and far away form 77 where he sings it in the original high melody and he sounds surprisingly good he could have utilized his upper range alot more in the late 70s but he was being cautious. 77 to 83 was probably his strongest period after mid 72. He hits alot of high notes on his 198e sool tour and his voice never really cracks or feta horse . After zepplein the 83 solo tour was probably his most powerful and consistent. Those first 2 solo albums are both filled with aggressive wide range vocals . The second leg of the 77 tour has some very powerful singing form plant especially the New York and l..A shows

      Did you see Page on the Outrider tour in 1988? If not, you really missed out. I saw the Worcester show on 10/29/88, and it was absolutely amazing. He was on fire!! I remember he mentioned in an interview that Worcester was the best of the tour. I humbly agree.

    Plant said, his kid's told him they just wanted a regular Dad. lol, he's anything but a regular Dad, he's a rock God! Page's neighbor, better lookout dressing up as Robert running around naked while playing Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and Pink Floyd. Robert will turn him everyway but loose.

The audience was electric after the snow, different from any other shows I've seen. Pink Floyd had the crowd on a cloud, Page and Plant set us on fire.
