It's all true. The olde Norsk people spoke of the Vanar, although their spelling was: Vanir, and they were the protectors of the earth. Although in most Nordic myths they are called: God's and Goddesses.

I am qn american and grew up in a christain environment. Since i was a little kid 40 years ago i had memories i could not explain and mental images i would draw as symbols. I finally dug into my memories and it led me down the path of hindu mythology. I eventually had a name of a past life. I dont need anyone to believe me or even care. My own perspective of reality. But what was discovered was the events of the mahabharata did happen.

2 things: 1) Ramayana was at least 12000 before the Mahabharata. And Hanuman features there, though in a lesser role. Depends on whether you accept the linear notion of history or the cyclical reality of Yugas.
2) The tectonic movement of continents is a reality. Though science cannot found proof, oral memory has scattered proofs everywhere of the gradual splitting of earth surface. This could explain what to us are geographical mysteries.
