Everyone loses a pet; hell most will lose 6-7 in their lives, if not a lot more. Everyone who knows and loves their parents also loses their parents (unless they die before their parents).
You are supposed to experience the loss of a pet or parent. If everything goes perfectly that's what is expected to happen.
Losing a child is, in no way shape or form, ever supposed to be how life is meant to go.
Idk how old you are (if you are a kid yourself then this all makes sense), but I need to make sure you realize that there is absolutely no comparison between the two, at all. You will honestly offend a whole lot of people in person just suggesting there's a comparison.
To OP, I'm so sorry my dude. I hope you can still find the same joy and appreciation for life that you had before the loss. Even if it's always accompanied by that tinge of grief. I know that shit never really goes away.

Deep Rising is absolutely a film that got done dirty by bad timing. It's such a fun film, and I've loved it for years so super excited to see it grace the Kill Count at last. A little note for James: so sorry to hear of your loss. I lost my dad to the Big C in 2005 and I'm keeping you in my thoughts and sending virtual hugs. Always a pleasure to see you Zorran - you suit this Kill Count!

There’s a reason for the screaming corpses at 21:02. Given that the tentacles drink their victims alive, some of those bodies are probably still alive.
It’s even worse in the original script: instead of being the monster’s… toilet, shall we say, it was actually meant to be a “meat locker”. As in guests were kept immobilized within the monster, fully aware, but unable to move, until the monster drained them dry. One victim was explicitly stated to be reduced to her eyeballs, but still conscious enough to plead for help, before she was completely digested.
I am truly sorry for the nightmares.
That eyeball one is just fucked up.
I will keep that in mind as the monster is unknown species. They are digested in the tentacles as we see when one of the characters taken is freed too late.
Mad respect to Zoran, it cannot be easy to even try to step into James' shoes and yet he continues to be able to do it effortlessly. Fantastic work and so great for him and also for James and Chelsea to know that their baby is in great hands while they take some much needed time off.

I remember seeing this movie as the very first film I ever saw with Treat Williams and the other film I saw with him was Age of Dinosaurs and sadly today I just learned he was killed in a motorcycle accident

Ever seen him in "Dead Heat"? It's got a similar attitude to "Deep Rising" in a lot of ways, although it effs around with buddy-cop and zombie tropes rather than action flick and B-movie monster ones.

Zoran has really developed his hosting style too. It's become more defined as he's done more episodes, just like James' did, meaning I think Zoran is a lot more comfortable doing the episodes as well. It comes through for sure.
I first discovered this channel back when Zoran was doing all the Tremors movies, so I'm happy to see him return to hosting duties for a little while. I hope James enjoys his honeymoon and has a restful break. Much love to everybody at team Dead Meat.

I had no idea that this was a failure. I caught up with it on TV not too long after its release and absolutely bloody loved it. It's got great action, I love the effects no matter how dated they may seem, and the acting is great, as is the chemistry between the cast. I just think it's a whole lot of creature-feature, gun-toting fun that moves at a heart-stopping pace and doesn't pull any punches. It's one of my favourites, and I'm proud to own the DVD.
All of the Dead Meat team's energy and family sibling-like squabbling is such a perfect way to start off a Friday. Just about died of laughter from the sponsorship part of this episode 😂

To anyone who hasn't seen the film, it's _genuinely_ a ton of fun and entertainment and it ends with one of my favorite sequel-teases ever. I only just saw it a few years ago, but it instantly became of my favorite "background" movies. Love to play this while I cook or clean.

found a free version of this movie on CZcams, and watched it with my wife in preparation for this Kill Count. So glad we did, it wasn't good but it was a boat-load of fun. Also, it's so good that we have Zoran who can take over for the Kill Count when James isn't around. He's freaking terrific.

I like how the creature has perfect stealth for the first half of the movie, somehow doing a bunch of crazy and deadly stuff without ever being glimpsed in any way, and then randomly half way through its just randomly lazily drooping down from the ceiling in the least stealthy way possible as if it never was trying to be hidden in the first place, even though that’s the first time anyone even saw it

Glad to see Zoran again. James is the staple to DM, but Zoran's brand of comedy is the type of madness that we need more of in this day and age. Just fun, crazy without going overboard but is damn towing the best line.
Such a guilty pleasure was this when I was a teenager. I loved the idea of the creature drinking someone alive. And I've always wondered what exactly was on that island at the end.
