Its always been that way. This leaf team just thinks they can win on skill alone. They've lost these games over and over for years now.
Great teams find a way to win even on bad nights or at least get it to OT. Even the best coaches have difficulty getting players UP for every game.

Despite the four goals, Joseph Woll was the man of the game for the Leafs. He played a great game, the other guys minus Nylander let him down.

The Blackhawks skated circles around the Leafs tonight until Toronto decided to turn it up a notch in the final 4 minutes of the game with the goalie pulled for the extra attacker.. However, unlike the game against the Canadiens, there would be no late game comeback as it backfired on the Leafs...
The Leafs were Figure Skating Circles Tonite as Usual.
Chicago is Playing Good Positional Hockey this Year and it is Paying off.
The Leafs have Focus Groups in One Zone and They wont Change this Tactic for some reason.

@thatcanadianwhitetrashguy Chicago added a few stabilizing veterans like Corey Perry and Tyler Johnson. Good 2 way players and leaders as well. Gone are the Toews and Kanes. If the Blackhawks can come close to .500 this season it would be a giant step.

Great game. Leafs were so strong at the end with Matthews, Marner and Tavares. What a line. From a Blackhawk fan, great game and great atmosphere.
The Hawks are a better team this year than last. And last year they were a dangerous team, winning some key late season games against playoff wannabes like Pittsburgh and Ottawa. With proud veterans like Perry and Foligno, take them lightly at your own peril.

They did. The Leafs looked completely lost for most of the game. They couldn't connect passes, fanned on shots, put shots nowhere near the net, etc. Neither team played exceptionally well but the Hawks did play better overall, especially the goalie.

Huge win for the Hawks. Last 5 seasons they get run out of the building on these road trips. They have been in all 4 games and our 2-2.
They didn't play exceptionally in this one but they did play better, and the goalie was great. I never liked Mrazek.
@jeffreycairns767 But they are getting more of the play from what I have seen so far. These powerhouse offensive teams usually outshoot them nearly 2-1. The Leafs put up a lot of goals against the Canadiens and Wild. For some reason they were bored tonight.

Starting to think that not signing Bertuzzi was a good thing for Boston.
He's been a little weird but it's going to take time before we know if he's really a good fit or not. I'm more worried about Klingburg. His offense has been brutal yet still keeps taking shots from the blue line and has a hard time completing, dishing or receiving, a decent pass.

I’m somewhat new to hockey how are the oilers? I know they aren’t doing so well so far this season. (I’m asking bc my team plays them today)
@Cheyenneabsher okay so back in 15' after a string of first round picks many of them being 1st overall and not many becoming what they should save for Leon Draisaitl #29 they got connor mcdavid #97 and they hired a bunch of bad goalies n defensive pairings, they got darnell nurse locked in for 9.25 mil at around 8 years or so a couple years back and tbh he's a fricken pylon, much like the Erik Karlson contract an absolute albatross and overpay. Except darnell has never won the Norris, or broken 100 points, the point I'm trying to make is the oilers have some good pieces and a good solid top 6 and some may argue even a good top 9 forwards but their defensive efforts are quite frankly utter crap and this has been the case, year in, and year out not even to mention the goalie situation they've been in since acquiring #97, and #29. It's the same story year after year and they (both 97 , n 29 ) have said "it's cup or bust" I know it's only 2 games in but still they came together for preseason camp a month earlier to really get the ball rolling it's the 9th year for mcdavid and the 10th for draisaitl soooo... it's cup or bust once their contracts run out if they aren't both offered ridiculous contracts(which drai is getting 8.25 mil for 8 years expires in 25-26, and mcdavid is getting around 12 mil expires in 25-26) some numbers regarding pay and salary might be wrong sooo ye.
