  • Looking for a budget way to lift the front of your Tacoma? A spacer lift is a great option for that. Simply mount the spacer on top of your factory strut assembly and get about 2.5" of lift. Allow yourself to run bigger tires and have more clearance, or get the stance you're looking for. We are also adding a 1" lift block to the rear for a full budget lift kit. Look for that video on our channel if you're interested. Click the link below to grab a leveling kit from YotaXpedition.com

    I just bought these wheels and SL Falken wildpeaks at4s in the same size 265/70/17. Think I’m going to pair the front 2 inch with a 1 inch block in the rear and some 1 1/4 inch hub centric spacers

    I love how you’re so ashamed to acknowledge that the front is higher because of people who squat their trucks. Lol no body is going to notice a 1/2” difference.
    Great video. I wish I had taken off the lower control arm when I did my spacer lift. Makes it much easier. I had to remove the sway bar bushing and the 2 bolts on the knuckle. Wasn’t able to completely remove the coil over but It was enough to seat the block and tighten them down with an impact.

    • @yotaxpedition
      @yotaxpedition  Před rokem +3

      yeah the point was to level it out not make it unlevel in the opposite direction lol. But with some driving and time it will settle a bit. After we put the front leveling kit on we put the rear lift blocks in and it was almost perfectly level/ lifted.

  • @ajr5195
    @ajr5195 Před rokem +4

    Keep the tacoma videos coming! Love watching them. Also, i dont think a spacer lift installed above the strut assembly would cause a stiffer ride… it doesnt cause more preload on the spring. What it does do is move the ride height so you’re much more likely to use the shock as a limiting device more frequently with down travel and you’re further away from the stock bump stop so it could compress the shock too much on up-travel. Those two things combined could cause a more harsh ride and possible shock failure. Those are extreme cases obviously… 99% of the time it will be absolutely fine and ‘should’ ride and drive like stock!

    • @yotaxpedition
      @yotaxpedition  Před rokem +1

      What you said is correct about the travel. However it does extend the geometry beyond the factor length form top hat to where the shock mounts to the lower control arm. When reassembling you need to compress it a bit to get it all back together, so there is a bit more preload and the truck is noticeably tighter up front unfortunately.

      @@yotaxpedition good to know! I’m considering leveling my 23 off-road with a 1/2” spacer on the drivers side and 1/4” spacer on the passenger side. Should yield 1” lift drivers and 1/2” passenger. That will eliminate to taco lean and bring it up level with the back (it’s 1” lower on drivers and 1/2” lower passenger right now). Would require new studs in the top hat unfortunately. I wanted to do this because I like the stock ride quality. Now I’m unsure.

    • @northerntoyota7584
      @northerntoyota7584 Před rokem +1

      @@ajr5195 you won’t affect the ride quality in any noticeable way placing a spacer on top like this. In theory I get what @yota Expedition is saying but you’ll never notice that in the real world. The spring preload spacers that go under the top hat will make it noticeably stiffer

    Those lower control arm cam bolts are known for seizing up over time and become a real pain to take out usually having to cut them out if they're really bad, so I would take the time to anti seize the bolts since you already have the control arm dropped as a preventative maintenance

    I recently got a 22 Tacoma with stock wheels and 245 /16 tires, the front is nose dive slammed , and I want to lift it, But this subject is really confusing, Because some say add 2 inch to the front but then they all end up with the front being higher than the back , and now they have to add blocks to the rear. My question is will 1.5 spacers level my truck without touch the back section ?
