Hate or love Naughty dog, but we cant deny the fact that naughty dog is one of the most talked about studios on the world 🌍.

I wish Naughty Dog success in their multi game endeavour, that's not an easy task.
I can see why they're doing it though, having multiple projects at the same time can protect a studio if one of them is floundering as well as providing more value to PlayStation as a whole.
Look no further than Insomniac Games for how much value they've given.
The lineup of games on the PS5 in it's first three years would look quite different without them.
Yeah I think they are hoping to make all their top studios into well oiled machines that can produce more of what they are known for. Insomniac has been leading in this respect so far

I think a big reason why they're already working on TLOU3 is because the tv show would catch up to the games fairly quickly, so ideally, they can have the third game made around the same time the 3rd season of the tv show comes out, if it is going to be produced, which seems likely

@@jacobross735 these things don't immediately go into full production, so for all we now the game only started being developed this year. Plus devs like ND have several projects they're juggling at the same time so their games take longer to make than they used to, especially with the level of detail they need to reach these days.
I'd say if part 2 is made into 2 seasons, and each season takes 1 to 2 years to make, then the last season (4th, which will cover the events of TLOU3) will come out 5 to 6 years from now, TLOU3 should probably come out around the time either the 3rd or 4th season airs. I also think they might work on another game that's not TLOU3 first, so it coming out 5 or 6 years from now doesn't seem unlikely to me
I totally hate the shit out of Abby, but I am curious to see who they cast

Without remasters/ports, you have these consoles with very little number of games due for very long time development.
Yeah? So has Sucker Punch, Guerilla, and Santa Monica...they cant just magically fabricate them.
For me, Sucker Punch is in a better place than Naughty Dog. Neil tool a risk with Part II, and he can say all he wants about their "vision," but in the end, the divisiveness and letdown of a narrative flow of it all made the game to not sell to its full potential.
Close to a billion dollar is not a loss my friend...bring on Part 3

@Excalibur2 What are you talking about!!! With all of the digital and physical copies of the game sold, it grossed over 600 million dollars. As a whole, that game made BANK, and it cost $200 million to make.
@@marquesdunn4934 according to who? It's never been announced officially, but estimated around 10 million sales (and not every copy was sold at $60). Estimates claim about half the sales go to Sony, then there are huge marketing and development costs. I don't think this was a slam dunk.
I feel we have 3 projects..one of which is Factions2 which seems like it will be canned or simplified and folded into pt3, or a pt2 directors cut. Pt3 is obviously on the table and probably is the next big title. ND needs to finish the saga and if they don’t do it now then we might wait until 27/28 for it. I think they want to capture the TLOU iron while it’s hot. The next new IP will be later on at the end of the PS5, something we haven’t seen or know. Regardless I think ND is going to focus on pt3, and probably has been. Ffactions 2 will fold into that or a pt3 remaster as I don’t see it releasing as a stand alone. The original new IP is on the way but honestly everyone wants Last of Us to wrap up and not wait another 5 years
Yeah I agree and I think it makes sense that Neil would make part 3 because that is his legacy. Another team probably would create their own with a new ip
Sounds like they're just promoting all the woke employees, given how well that has worked for companies like Bud, I see that working out real well. Not to mention, the minute people find out what really happens in TLOU 2, I doubt the show will be as successful

I’m a bit more cautious. They burnt me with TLOU Part 2. I’d say, it is a good thing, that we don’t know, what’s coming. I agree that taking risks is a good thing. I am not so sure about the amount of projects, they juggle right now. Time will tell.
I feel the same. Like you, and the majority of gamers, I hated the dynamic of TLOU2. I will be cautiously optimistic.
I think it would be a great idea to bring jak back as a dlc character in there recent release crash bandicoot fighting multiplayer or even in there next Uncharted multiplayer
Unfortunately probably won’t happen as Crash ip is owned by Xbox now and Sony wouldn’t agree to let them use Jak

The Last of Us 3 won’t sell like people think. TLOU2 only sold “okay” by ND’s standards and I feel like there are a ton of people who simply won’t be interested in a third game at all.
I really love your optimistic point of view, and sincerely do hope ND goes back to the company it used to be... I have my doubts. I think maybe 4/5 years ago when Amy Hennig left who was a major part of the creation of Nathan drake and Uncharted. the amount of people that left the studio with the release of TLOU 2. even Bruce Straley left, making a whole new studio named Wildflowers... and with the bad and unnecessary PC port of the last of us 1 and with Sony/Bungie stepping in and scrapping whatever they had for Factions.... it just looks bad, but like I said I still hope for the best and only time will tell
I'm more of a middle ground Naughty Dog fan who likes most of their games. I like "Crash Bandicoot" the most, I like "Uncharted", and I'm personally okay with "The Last of Us" (even "Part II") as a whole. "Jak and Daxter" unfortunately isn't for me, but that's mainly due to the franchise not having a central identity. All in all, I'm okay with how it all turned out. I'm happy for the existing fans (as well as new fans) too.
With "Jak and Daxter", Naughty Dog started the intellectual property off safe, which is fine. But the problem comes in with the influence of "Grand Theft Auto III", as it was too popular at the time, and the target audience wanted more games like that. Because of that, Naughty Dog didn't get a chance to make the second game they wanted to make, and were forced to follow the "GTA" trend, causing the franchise to have an identity crisis. This ended up not only disappointing fans who wanted more kid-friendly 3D platformers, but it completely alienated the Japanese audience (as the poor sales of the second game in Japan proved that). At that point, Naughty Dog had to rely on trends for the third game based on what people thought was good. This led to the third game being one of the most messy games ever made, and at that point, the franchise ended up having no central identity of its own. The spin-off racing game was mostly well made, but the quality of the franchise was so far diminished, it ended up being the worst-selling Naughty Dog game of all time. Naughty Dog attempted to reboot the franchise with a realistic-looking game that looked awful, but shelving the intellectual property for the 2013 game was the right move. Ultimately, the popularity of "Grand Theft Auto III" was responsible for the decline and eventual casualty of "Jak and Daxter" (as well as 3D platformers in general). The franchise could've been so much more if it wasn't for the popularity of "Grand Theft Auto III". That's the main reason why I'm not a fan of the franchise; I even lost interest in the first game because of that. It's just a franchise for whoever is curious on what it could've been.
Now, in terms of consistency, "Crash Bandicoot", "Uncharted", and "The Last of Us" (central identity: love) are objectively fine. They may not be for everyone, but those are the games Naughty Dog wanted to make, especially with "The Last of Us Part II". As long as there's passion and it makes logical sense, that's all it matters.

That writer and actor strike is said to last beyond October, that they’re willing fight for as long as it takes. So, no one is getting into a mocap suit anytime soon and all stories are being halted. It’s worse then you can imagine, it’s about to get real stale for a real long time.

@@DrPooplove Since Ashley and Laura are apart of SAG-AFTRA I assumed it applied to them, but they can pretty much work on anything that’s not a feature film or scripted television. Hopefully they don’t go on strike too like they did around 2017.
@@weavatronobservatory yeah that union only applies to movies/tv. Video Games don’t have the unions, etc. so they can work on video games and not be breaking the rules

I’d really hate for Sony to keep pushing the whole ‘COD’ agenda on the company. I can’t stand those games, and first person shooters always give me motion sickness. They aren’t my idea of fun at all. So hopefully LOUM will stick with the 3rd person angle in future. 🙏🏿

More Naughty Dog games? It’s been nothing but Uncharted and Last of Us for two generations already. We will be lucky to see a new IP from them at the end of the PS5 life cycle. I think the PC release of TLOU Pt 1 and the Jason Schreier article on Factions shows that they’re not free from the stuff that plagues other studios.
Well, they have had multiple projects going on for years now, and they have been in development in at least one single-player game for a while, so it's entirely possible it may be released within a year or two.

I dont see season 2 of the show working. Bella is a full grown woman and i cant see her playing Ellie as a full grown woman. Ellie from part 2 is more athletic and brutal than she was in Part 1 and i just cant see Bella pulling it off. Especially when doing the 2 fighting scenes with Abby.
That's not a problem of the show, it's a problem of the videogame. Ellie on paper is a 19 year old, and Bella Ramsey is a 19 year old girl. Ashley Johnson ,who played Ellie in the games, is 40. Now, tell me, which Ellie is the wrong age?

Bella is around 158 cm tall, while Ashley is 163 cm tall. You can’t see the show working for a 5 cm height difference? You might me hiding some other reason because this doesn’t hold up
P.S: actually Ellie is 18 during Part II, because her birthday was after Spring. So she’s even younger than we thought
@@GabrieleTarallo what dies the VOICE actresses height have to do with the game? The Ellie was two different heights in the game while Ashley was the sa.e height in real life. If you are referring to the mocap performance well guess what they game designers changed the actresses height for the story. For me Bella is top short to play a fully grown Ellie.

@@garyhall2770 Your opinion is valid she is clearly shorter but I can’t see how this should prevent season 2 from working, she’s just a couple of inches shorter that’s it. She can still be agile, quick, sneaky, but also brutal. Most, if not all of the enemies she faces are taller than her anyway (maybe Mel was shorter, but it was a 3 seconds fight) so her brutality has never come from her overpowering size. This is my asshole opinion and it’s also valid

I have been saying, and hoping Sony themselves comes in and looks at looks at the last of us 2's multiplayer mode, but they aren't going to I guess, all I'm saying is Sony is ND's partner not Bungies, and they should act like it...

I love TLOU2, more for the gameplay and the atmosphere/background than the story, but did like Abby when she wasn't interacting with any of the Jackson people. Can't wait for more opportunities to play in TLOU universe in whatever form that may come in.

All these promotions, who's signing off on it? Are they willing to tell Neil when he's out of line? Look at it this way, if you give a man enough rope and let him experiment, he can turn that rope into a noose. Look to the MGS series and Kojima. There were a number of insane, terrible game ideas he had, but the team helped keep his head out of the clouds and in turn they produced one of the best gaming series to ever be made.
I just don't believe promoting from within when you have a history of toxic work environments and inability to speak up to management will turn into anything but more of the same, good or bad.
A PC port after the failure TLOU Part 2 was. Sure, why not? The more games, the better.
Naughty Dog has great games, but, when it comes down to the mainstream audience, they are loved for Uncharted and The Last Of Us, and, from those franchises, the actual "amazing" ones are Uncharted 2, 4, and The Last Of Us 1. It's not like they can't dissapoint, and, at this point, I think there are way to many studios in a better position than them.
I'll probably skip TLOU Part 3 when ever that comes out, so I'm basically waiting for a new Uncharted game. Not interested in other NG franchises at the moment.

The Uncharted games and TLoU1 were masterpieces. TLoU2 was awful. Unless I can butcher Abby in a third game, I don't feel any desire to play it. Naughty Dog is in trouble.
