I actually did it first try when I was playing this in 3D All-Stars. I encountered about the same level of jank she did, but I was patient and took careful measures so I wouldn't fall in the gap.
It's implied you can manipulate the mechanics of the machine as if it were Sonic Spinball But no There are literally physics in place that intrinsically prevent you from defying the momentum of the machine *and it's entirely random. There is no indication of this.* So players would make the mistake of trying to escape the momentum and accidentally get themselves killed, or simply have really bad luck (it's pachinko, after all) There are ways to cheese the machine, but it's really difficult. It's Sunshine jank mechanics. But it's not impossible. Mostly frustrating and lame. But I liked it. I thought it was really funny. I was like, 12.
