- An overview of the PS2 Jojo game made by Capcom which covers the events of Golden Wind and an in-depth look into its mechanics.
Way before the anime was anywhere near being created, the world got see Giorno was already running around in full color with a voice. Or rather... it would if the game ever got released outside of Japan.

Thank you to everyone for the support and kind words! ♥
If you haven't seen it already, I've released a video on the OTHER Japan only PS2 JoJo game which you can watch here:
czcams.com/video/RBLZcvIn34A/video.html
Polnareff is in a permanent Stand ON state to be fair... he's literally sitting in a Silver Chariot.
Risking it all to Requiem some new rims for himself
But also, he is in a permanent Stand OFF state, because he's a cripple.
hehe
"pressing triangle gives Fugo an Aneurism"
xD
Yo what the hell, this video was awesome. I've seen many videos about this game but none that have explained it's mechanics in-depth. It was a really fun watch. Nice work!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! 😁 It’s got surprisingly more depth than I expected, excited to see what the Phantom Blood game has to offer now.
Yeah, it was mostly memed on other then people actually explaining how the mechanics and functions work
This is a great vid!! Very well made. Lowkey miss videos like this - simple format, clean editing , and a joy to watch.
im calling him giorgio, you can't stop me, the truth will never be censored.
This video is incredible and very reminiscent of the videos I watched in 2018, this channel is really great
Dude your the goat, I recently finished pt5 and have been wanting to see the gameplay for this game long before but since I didn’t finish the part, but now that I have I’ve been craving anything pt5 related and I was really hoping to find a video just like yours, it was perfect, exactly what I wanted to see if not even more, love the work man
Wish I had just finished pt5 for the first time again!!!
Thank you for this! Always knew about this game and saw it was recently fan translated but never took the time to play it myself. I had heard some fights were missing but its cool they at least covered the missing sections in the extra/gallery section so it feels a little more complete.
Hands down, to this day, I believe this game has one of the best JoJo OSTs I have ever had the chance to listen to. I remember being enamored by this game that when NakaTeleeli finally did a Super Story mode playthrough, I got through most of Part 5 (aside from the content that wasn't adapted). You can still find a lot of the soundtracks on GenericSoda's channel. 2009 felt like a long time ago!
Both the Capcom JoJo games have awesome soundtracks honestly. It was a pleasure to go through them and Capcom did a great job adapting this series.
very well made video, you deserve any views that come your way
Fugo's △ move ("Numbskull!") changes his moveset to use heavier attacks, and his ╳ attack fires the virus in a straight line rather than around him. Pressing △ again restores his default moveset.
This is an amazing video and I cant wait to see the Phantom blood one
23:27 its not attracted to sound its attracted to movement.
Never saw this game in action until this got recommended to me, I think I would have loved this if I played it when it came out. It’s also wild in these games seeing how they actually implement the stands!
I really like the Secret Factor aspect. It’s a lot like DBZ: The Legend where you were graded based on how anime accurate you were, I loved that shit
Basically ensures you actually get to play those dramatic moments rather than just watching a cutscene where it happens
1:54 He actually does, just...beyond rarely. As in, so rarely that, er... *looks it up in the wiki* He appearently is only called that like once at the end of the canon novel not written by Araki(Yeah, i don't anticipate an adaptation any time soon).
29:54 Ironically, the AI is actually conservative with using it. People who used cheats to play Diavolo found out that there is no cooldown or cap to the effect, meaning he can keep it going literally forever as long as he keeps pressing the button. Final boss-cheats, I guess.
33:45 It's a shame that Capcom didn't get to make that game too because it's infinitely worse in visuals, voicedirection and story presentation despite coming out years later. Can't comment on gameplay because I admit, I never played any of these games, but it certainly has a poor reputation. The game gets a technical W tho because for some reason, they decided to go overboard with what-ifs and playable characters(though sadly no freeplay). Most *actually well developed games* don't go those many extra miles.
After part 3 in general you rarely get to hear 'Jojo' anyway. I haven't read Purple Haze Feedback so didn't know about that though, that's cool.
Ahh, so Diavolo is actually a pretty reasonable guy then, Giorno's the real cheater getting a broken stand like that.
Still going through the Phantom Blood game right now and can feel that for sure. Don't think it's as bad as I've been led to believe but my bar may have been lowered by the clunkiness of this game. They may not be amazing games but I do think the devs definitely had some passion for these project by seeing the extra stuff added in both games.
12:50 why did they mirror the controls when you're already inside the mirror rather than seeing it from the outside?
i am suprised you didn't mention pressure sensetive attacks,so if you dont know the ps2 controller can detect how hard you press a button, the game actually utilizes this function as all stands have a 2+ plus hit combo you can do similar to your normal 3 hit combo with stand off when you press the button lightly and if you are wondering what happens when you press it harder you get the attacks that most players normally do when playing the game, which are directional attacks and there is one for each direction right, left, forwards, back and they change depending on the placement of the camera so you gotta adapt quick to use them properly oh and abbachio has a 2 hit combo that can be done by pressing lightly on the square button similiar to the stand off combos i mentioned earlier aside from all that stuff this was a really well made video and enjoyable to watch
Thanks! I actually had no idea this game utilised the pressure sensitive face buttons and forget they exist sometimes, that’s cool to know it has a bit more depth in that aspect, though it’s not like they were short for buttons to use already
@@TephraDan yeah but the game gives you the ability to make use of vacant buttons as well in the options so you can use r2 as a way to do light attacks as well
Yeah remapping it to triggers is a good shout especially for anyone not playing on OG hardware/controller. I just tried it out and it’s crazy I’ve never seen that mentioned in all the guides I’ve researched for this. I’ll keep it in mind to check for them in any future PS2 game I cover now.
@@TephraDan you can also use the emulator settings to lover the sensitivity of the square button input and use the r2 for the hard taps its what i use while playing and works silky smooth
can anyone reply me to tell how do i get this game's torrent?
And to think this was my introduction to JoJo
Really awesome video ! But i wonder what music did you use at 1:58 ?
Thanks! :D That's one of the songs from the game, can find it under the name "Synopsis 1". Pretty much all the music in this video consists of the game's soundtrack
26:46 Four of the “Muda”s are spelt as “Mdua”
lol nice catch. Guess Giorno got his tongue twisted a bit there
Cool!!
Nice
Narancia does his battle cries.
Me: Link is that you?
I wish they made at least a PS2 game like All star battle R with many characters from part 1-7 or 7 different games with story mode like not just a part 5 game but also a game for the other parts
Who else here has played this and knows how fucking Hard it is? AI gets too gud against mashers
I did manage to 200/200 all of the super story stages last year. The clunky controls and badly designed boss fights take hours to perfect and the unlockables aren't worth it imo.
@@digiornopizza3469 I don't blame them for scrapping the Risotto fight. Can only imagine how ass Doppio would play with the controls
I was always curious about this game. The whole thing seems solid enough, but has a lot of flaws. Following Golden Wind's story mean you're constantly having to adjust to new characters who for the most part never get used again. And a lot of general clunkyness. But I appreciate the attempts made to make it like the original series.
I just finished jojo part 5
It looks good
There's also a Phantom Blood game on PS2! I
Bro accidentally made a ballroom song the girls bouta play this out buddy
Easy mode is just as difficult!!! This game feels like dark souls at times - dodge roll and pray
OMFG even watching this video frustrates me, because I've had a horrible experience with this game. Surprisingly, I beat this game. Got the f***ing save file on my memcard to proove it. May not be 100% but f**k it I've cleared this game...
And the thing is nobody would give a f**k about my achievement with this f**king game or how I felt about this but me. If I talk about it, anyone will just gaslight me...
Sorry... I know this an okay Jojo game with beautiful manga-like graphics but God this game messed with me psychologically already. Watching you play already frustrated me because I remember the kind of "f*** you" I received, especially the part where I kept getting pushed back down, while trying to reach higher ground...
Again, I'm so sorry for the F-Bomb.
Borrowed this game from an ex-friend. Still got the save file on my PS2 Magic Gate MemCard. I have my many reasons to just keep it and not delete it...
Don't get me wrong. It's not a bad game (that dishonor goes to Phantom Blood on PS2). I just hated the controls of this game. And nobody understands why I got so frustrated with it. And nobody cares but me... Probably the reason why I'm not playing Dark Souls or Elden Rings. Because I don't want to be psychologically messed up by another game to the point of being gaslit by anyone.
They really wanted to make you suffer with some of those missions. How they thought anyone would want to do some of these without losing any health is insane
0:13 wish it was Eng dub
Wish this was dubbed
Hello
15:20
Still strange it never got released internationally if it was so close to finished. Maybe Heritage never sold that well, because i know that prince story is all bullshit
My guess would be they saw it as a too big of a risk, Part 3 had at least some presence outside of Japan with the manga and OVA, so it got the English release. The Copyright issues are a good point though and also probably part of the reason. But yeah would have been great to have it released officially in the west.
@TephraDan oh no, I meant that the commonly trotted out story about Prince threatening legal action is probably bs. There's no evidence of this, and the games were already changing the names in the international versions anyway. I think it must be down to the fact that they didn't think it'd sell, but even then if it was almost done it would just be a complete waste of not inconsiderable money
Wait, this Giorno is voiced by Naruto?
No. He was voiced by Romi Park, who voices Edward Elric.
I enjoyed the game up to green day and oasis the oasis race was so FUCKING ASS
Yeah I don’t know what they were thinking with some of those missions, or how they expect anyone to do it with full health
overrated.
Underrated*
